Shiva Rajkumar denies clapping for Kamal Haasan's Kannada remark as Thug Life release in Karnataka remains uncertain

Ever since actor Kamal Haasan remarked that Kannada was born out of Tamil while promoting his upcoming film Thug Life in Karnataka, he has caused a huge uproar in the state. Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar, who also attended the promotional event, denies clapping when Kamal made this statement, even as a pro-Kannada outfit threatens theatres not to release Thug Life in the state. (Also Read: 'All Kamal Haasan films to be banned in Karnataka', says minister after actor refuses to apologise on Kannada remark row) Talking to the press, Shiva, who previously defended Kamal, made it clear that he does not agree with Kamal's statement about Kannada. He said, 'All the languages are important to us. But when it comes to the mother tongue, Kannada is the first priority, there's no doubt about that. I've said this before, I can give my life for Kannada. I should not tell that (Kamal Haasan must apologise). He is a senior actor, and I am the biggest fan of him.' He then clarified that many seem to be under the misconception that he showed support for Kamal's remark at the event by clapping when he said it. Shiva agrees he did clap, but it was for a different statement. He said, 'At the event, I did not understand what was going on. But they're showing clippings as if I'm clapping for that. I was clapping because he told, he was my chithappa (uncle).' According to ANI, a pro-Kannada organisation, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, warned the owners of Victory Cinema Theatre in Kamakshipalya, Bengaluru, not to release Mani Ratnam's Thug Life. The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) has also banned the film's release in Karnataka, asking the actor to apologise for his remarks. Praveen Shetty, who belongs to the organisation, told the news agency, 'Kamal Haasan has spoken against the Kannada language. We will not allow Kamal Haasan's film to be released in Karnataka. They said that the film will be released at the Victory Cinema. We came here today and told the theatre owners not to release Kamal Haasan's film. If the film is released, the government will be held responsible for any untoward incidents that follow.' Thug Life, which also stars Silambarasan TR and Trisha Krishnan in lead roles, is directed by Mani Ratnam. According to Sacnilk, Mani's previous film, Ponniyin Selvan—Part 1, earned ₹28.12 crore in Karnataka, while Part 2 made ₹22.55 crore in the state. After Tamil Nadu, Karnataka was the highest-earning state for both films. Kamal's Indian 2 made ₹8.55 crore there. The actor, however, has refused to apologise for his comment, telling the media, 'It is a democracy. I believe in law and justice. My love for Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala is true. Nobody will suspect it except for those who have an agenda. I've been threatened earlier too, and if I am wrong, I would apologise, if I'm not, I won't.'

BTS to comeback with HYYH era after reunion? ARMY try to decode mysterious Instagram account with new pics of members

When one talks about global sensation that is BTS, their discography stands as a testament to the group's emotional depth and artistic growth. Each of the seven members—Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook—have poured their Blood, Sweat and Tears into music that spans a wide range of themes. Among the many eras in their career, none is as deeply cherished by ARMY as the HYYH era. So, what is HYYH? Short for Hwa Yong Yeon Hwa or The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, HYYH represents a defining chapter in BTS' musical and narrative journey. It encompasses three albums: The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 1, Part 2, and Young Forever—a trilogy that holds deep emotional resonance for fans. Why does HYYH mean so much to ARMY? The era began with Part 1 (April 29, 2015), continued with Part 2 (November 30, 2015), and culminated in Young Forever (May 2, 2016). This period marked a turning point for BTS, both musically and thematically. Moving away from their earlier youthful exuberance, the group embraced a more introspective and mature sound. The lyrics delved into the fragility of youth, the pain of growing up, and the bittersweet beauty of fleeting moments. a thread of threads for hyyh storyline explanation and theories 🧵 Beyond the music, HYYH introduced a layered and emotionally rich storyline, intertwining each member's fictional narrative into a shared universe. This narrative would later evolve through albums like WINGS and the Love Yourself series, but it was during HYYH that BTS first invited fans into this complex, symbolic world—one that blurred the lines between reality and fiction, and between artist and audience. BTS making a comeback with HYYH after reunion? The 7-member group is set to make a highly anticipated full-group comeback in June 2025, following the completion of their mandatory military service. While ARMY eagerly awaits their reunion, BigHit Music previously announced that a special album is in the works to celebrate the 10th anniversary of BTS' iconic HYYH era. HYBE founder Bang Si-hyuk also confirmed that BTS will release a commemorative album in 2025 to honour this milestone chapter in their discography. New Instagram profile emerges While all this is happening, a new Instagram account has emerged under the name "s07_220502," featuring a single line in its description: "Youth never comes back" or "Youth is never coming back." The same line also appears in a link shared on the profile. The account has posted a series of seven photos featuring seven men standing near a vehicle. However, as one goes through each picture, one person disappears at a time until only one remains. While it's unclear whether the individuals in the images are BTS members, ARMY believe it is them as BTS has similar photos in HYYH era and are actively trying to decode the meaning behind the posts. ARMY try to decode new photos The BTS fandom quickly turned into detectives and began sharing their theories on X (formerly known as Twitter). The majority, however, believe it is connected to the HYYH era. The display picture on the Instagram account also seems to say "HYYH 3". helloo??????? HYYH??? Jessica Simpson felt 'very vulnerable' during American Idol performance

Jessica Simpson's "feet were sweating" during her live performance on 'American Idol'. The 44-year-old pop star performed on TV for the first time in 15 years on 'American Idol', and Jessica has confessed to feeling very nervous ahead of her recent appearance. The blonde beauty told 'Extra': "Oh, my God, I was dying. "I can't even tell you how long it's been since I've been that nervous. Like, I had to put hairspray on my feet to stand still, like, not that it actually keeps me put, but, like, my feet were sweating. I'm like, my feet don't sweat. "I just kept telling myself, 'Do not cry. Do not cry. I know this is a big moment … do not cry.' And then I see my dad, like, up in the corner and I'm like, 'Ah, I'm going to cry. I'm going to cry. Do not cry. Just sing your songs. Just sing your songs.'" Jessica felt "very vulnerable" singing songs from 'Nashville Canyon, Part 1', the EP that she released in March. The pop star explained: "[15 years is] a really long time, and, like, the last time was a Christmas song, so that's easy. "So, this is my new EP 'Nashville Canyon Part 1', I mean, part two comes in the summer, but it is so much a part of my soul, and so to sing a song off of that I felt naked, to be honest, like, it was very bare and raw and very vulnerable." Jessica believes she's reinvented herself as an artist in recent times. Explaining the inspiration behind her new music, Jessica said: "It was really like I made a Spotify playlist of just music that I like, and it was not really any of the music that I've done before, because for me that was what people told me to do. "And I wanted to do something I was going to tell myself that I needed to do and felt right within my soul, so this playlist I would take into with songwriters and we'd sit there and they'd pick a song from the playlist and we'd kind of like vibe off of it."

Jessica Simpson Debuts New Single and Hair Color on ‘American Idol'

Sorry, the old Jessica Simpson can't come to the phone right now. Why? Because she's too busy ditching her signature light blonde hair and promoting her brand new music. Jessica showed off her new dirty blonde hair during an appearance on American Idol, which also marked her first televised performance in 15 years. Jessica fans, we are so back. The singer is slowly making her comeback after over a decade spent away from the music industry. She dropped her EP, Nashville Canyon, Part 1, in late March in the wake of her split from Eric Johnson, her husband of 10 years, and is currently deep in album promotion. So naturally, she had to make a stop at the American Idol season 23 finale on Sunday. Jessica gave her first TV performance of 'Blame Me,' a new breakup track off her EP, and then invited season 23 contestant Josh King to perform a duet of 'These Boots Are Made for Walkin',' a Jessica Simpson classic. Of course, 'These Boots are Made for Walking' was technically originally recorded by Nancy Sinatra in 1966, but I think all millennials can agree that Jessica made the song her own when she covered it for 2005 Dukes of Hazzard In addition to delivering her first television performance in over a decade, Jessica also debuted a brand new look. Perhaps to mark the beginning of her new country era, Jessica traded in her bright blonde for a more subdued dirty blonde look. The color was developed by Rita Hazan, who told People that the color, which took two hours to perfect, was meant to be a 'more natural' blonde that was like 'a kid on the beach.' Dying to recreate the look at home? Rita says she used Glaze's Supergloss in Vanilla Lights to tone down brassiness and give Jessica's hair a glossy finish. 'It delivers a rich, shiny payoff, and a silky polished finish that leaves hair looking refreshed and healthier after just one use,' Rita added. Jessica reportedly loved her new look, and I can't say I blame her. What better way to celebrate her music comeback?

Jessica Simpson Hits ‘American Idol' Stage With First TV Performance in 15 Years

Jessica Simpson hit the 'American Idol' stage on Sunday night's season finale, where she made her first TV performance in 15 years. The Grammy-nominated singer took the mic wearing a shimmering gold dress and turquoise jewelry. First up, she sung her new single 'Blame Me,' one of the tracks from her EP 'Nashville Canyon, Part 1.' Next up, she brought up 'American Idol' contestant Josh King to help her perform Nancy Sinatra's 'These Boots Are Made for Walkin'.' While Simpson did not officially retire from music, it's been over a decade since she's performed live on stage. Back in April, Simpson shared her reasons for the hiatus, saying her decision to step away was in part due to her being 'mad at music' after she was dropped from her record deal following the release of her hit 2008 country album 'Do You Know.' 'I took a long break,' Simpson said during an appearance Fancy Hagood's 'The Trailblazers Radio.' 'I was mad at music a bit. After being dropped with a number one country album, I was dropped and I just never understood it. They just said I would never recoup if I didn't give them part of the brand, but my brand was already successful.' In the midst of her break, Simpson also released her memoir in 2020, 'Open Book,' which details her successes and struggles over the years in both her personal and professional life. Simpson's five-song project 'Nashville Canyon, Part I' dropped on March 21. Check out the performance below.
