Farah Khan recalls having no set for Katrina Kaif's Sheila Ki Jawani, calls it ‘cheapest song of my life'
Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan has choreographed hit tracks like Pehla Nasha, Chaiyya Chaiyya, Ruk Ja O Dil Deewane, and more. In her recent vlog, Farah revealed that Katrina Kaif's Sheila Ki Jawani from Tees Maar Khan was her 'cheapest' song, as she didn't have any set for it. (Also Read: Farah Khan hints at her cook Dilip's exorbitant salary after he demands a hike: 'If I tell you how much he earns…') Farah visited actor Manasi Parekh's house. While talking about her upcoming film Shubhchintak, Manasi shared that a Gujarati film is made on a small budget of ₹5 crore. Farah was shocked to learn this. She then shared, 'When someone tells me that they made their song on a huge budget, it doesn't impress me. I believe that the lesser the budget you have, the better you think. The cheapest song of my life is Sheila Ki Jawani.' Farah's statement surprised actors Manasi and Swapnil. She added, 'We didn't have any set for it. All we had were these 10 dancers. We finished shooting the entire song in just three and a half shifts. It is the cheapest song I have done and the biggest hit of my career. One of the top three-four hits.' The actors then showed a glimpse of their movie to Farah, and she couldn't stop gushing about how different Mansi looked in it. She added, 'It doesn't look like a film made with ₹5 crore.' Sheila Ki Jawani is a popular song from the 2010 Bollywood film Tees Maar Khan, directed by Farah Khan. Sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and Vishal Dadlani, and composed by the music duo Vishal–Shekhar, the song features Katrina Kaif in a glamorous avatar. The song became an instant chartbuster. Meanwhile, Farah was most recently seen as a host on the reality cooking television show Celebrity MasterChef. Judged by chefs Vikas Khanna and Ranveer Brar, the show featured Abhijeet Sawant, Tejasswi Prakash, Archana Gautam, Nikki Tamboli, Gaurav Khanna, and Faisal Shaikh, among others, as participants competing for the title. Gaurav won the show along with a ₹20 lakh cash prize

Farah Khan tells Alaya F spot boy fainted when her mom Pooja Bedi's skirt flew up in Pehla Nasha: ‘Vo gir gaye'
Filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan had Alaya F and Pooja Bedi as guests on her YouTube channel. As Alaya showed the recipe for her protein-packed blueberry pancakes, Farah and Pooja recalled shooting for Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar and had hilarious anecdotes. (Also Read: Aamir Khan admits they fired 'badtameez' actors from Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, reshot the whole film with new cast) Farah told Alaya that she spent many days with her mom, Pooja, trying to 'help her dance'. She also asked Alaya whose genes she got because she's a 'fantastic dancer'. The actor told her she wasn't a good dancer, much like her mom, but she worked hard to change that. When Pooja tried to imitate how Alaya used to dance, Farah joked, 'This is exactly how you danced in Naam Hai Mera Fonseca in Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar.' She then turned to Alaya and said, 'You know the story, right? When she stood on that car (in the Pehla Nasha song), the spot boy, who was not standing behind her but underneath her, vo gir gaye (he fell down). That's the first time I've seen a thong. They were not very common in those days.' Pooja interjected to tell Farah that she was exaggerating and that the spot boy was standing a little further away. She also stated that every time she pulled her dress down the front, it flew up from behind. Farah also told Alaya that she was 'elegant and calm', especially on the red carpet, when compared to Pooja. Alaya, who debuted in 2020 with Jawaani Jaaneman, which also starred Saif Ali Khan, has worked in films like Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat and U-Turn. In 2024, she starred in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Srikanth. The 1992 film Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar was recently re-released in theatres. Pooja played Devika in the film headlined by Aamir Khan and Ayesha Jhulka.

Farah Khan calls Pooja Bedi a terrible dancer, recalls choreographing her in Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar's ‘Pehla Nasha': ‘Spot boy fainted when her skirt flew'
Farah Khan and her chef, Dilip, visited Kabir Bedi's daughter, actor Pooja Bedi, and his granddaughter Alaya F 's Mumbai apartment in her latest vlog. The filmmaker, who has choreographed Pooja in the iconic song 'Pehla Nasha' from the 1992 film Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, with Aamir Khan, took fans down the memory lane. In the vlog, they recalled BTS bloopers of the track, when the actor was holding down her red dress atop a car. Farah also drew comparisons between Alaya and her mother, joking about Pooja's poor dancing and presentation skills. In the video, Farah laughed and asked Alaya about her spectacular dancing, pointing out to Pooja's poor skills. She said, 'I have spent many days with your mother. Maine unko bahut dance karvaane ki koshish ki hai. Ab mujhe poochna hai ki isko kiske genes aaye hain because you are a fantastic dancer (I tried to teach dancing to your mom, but never succeeded. Whose genes do you have?)' The Freddy actor then revealed that she learned it on the go. 'Actually, I didn't know how to dance at all. I have worked very hard on it, honestly.' Her mother instantly imitated her, reminding her of the video of her first dance class. Everyone shared a laugh watching her awkward moves and expressions. Farah added, 'That's exactly how you danced in Naam Hai Mera Fonseca.' It is a track from Pooja's film Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar. The filmmaker reminded the mother-daughter duo about the infamous red skirt blooper from the film. She asked Alaya, 'You know about the story when she stood on the car and the spot boys standing behind fainted? Vo peeche nahi the, neeche fan pakadke khade the.' Pooja further elaborated the incident and added, 'He was not. They were standing way behind. What happened was that everytime that they would put this fan under me, I was trying very hard to hold my dress down, kyuki uddegi vo. I am standing and the fan was blowing, but nothing was happening. As soon as used to put my hands away from the skirt saying nothing is blowing, my dress would fly. When I held it down again, everyone was laughing because it was down from the front but flying from back.' She continued, 'That's the time when a spot boy was standing at the back and I had a thong on.' Farah laughed and said, 'That's the first time I saw a thong, they were not very common those days.' Farah Khan went on to crack friendly jokes about Pooja Bedi. She said, 'I feel that Alaya is very elegant and calm. Even when I watch your response carpet appearances and interviews, there's a very nice gentle and calm energy, especially if we compare to,' drawing a comparison while pointing out towards the Vishkanya actor.
