Shillong: Meghalaya CM Conrad K Sangma, a known music enthusiast, added a unique touch to the customary 'At Home' reception hosted by governor CH Vijayashankar at the Raj Bhawan on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day.
To the delight of the governor and other officials, the CM captivated the audience with a piano performance on a heritage instrument.
With his deft fingers, Conrad Sangma, who is more widely known for his mastery of the guitar, pressed the keys of a 150-year-old piano to play the romantic tune of a popular Hindi song 'Pehla Nasha' from the film Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar.
The performance enchanted those present at the iconic Governor's House, and the governor and others responded with spontaneous applause as the CM brought the soothing melody to life. A video clip of the performance has since gone viral on social media, with viewers expressing awe at the musical talent of one of the country's youngest CMs.

Actor Dulquer Salmaan on Monday released the character names of director Dominic Arun 's eagerly awaited woman superhero film 'Lokah - Chapter 1 - Chandra', featuring actress Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead. It may be recalled that Dulquer Salmaan's production house, Wayfarer Films, is producing the superhero series. Dulquer Salmaan took to his social media accounts to announce the character names in the much-awaited film, which will incidentally be Malayalam cinema's first woman superhero film.
