‘Most spectacular things you're ever going to see': 2025 Saskatoon exhibition bigger than ever
Saskatoon's Prairieland Park has been abuzz with activity thanks to the return of the Saskatoon exhibition.
This year marks a step up for the event. In addition to several new rides, the exhibition will run for eight days, as opposed to the six seen in previous years.
'We've got a much larger midway that's coming here. We're working with a provider that has decided to put us on their A circuit. So we've got a bunch of new rides,' Peter Jelinski, manager of signature events for Prairieland Park, said.
This upgrade puts Saskatoon in the same category as larger cities such as Calgary and Edmonton in terms of their role with the North American Midway. The NAM has different sets of rides and entertainment called circuits, which are matched to a venue depending on the size of the event.
'In the past, we were kind of a B-circuit city. They recognize Saskatoon as a city of growth opportunity, and so they've rerouted their entire tour so that we get their A-game, so that we can grow with them over the next few years,' Jelinski said.
This year also marks Saskatoon's very first drone show. Each night at 11, the sky above the event is brought to life. Jelinski says he'd recommend staying late to catch the show.
'I gotta say, it's one of the most spectacular things you're ever going to see,' Jelinski said.
