Krispy Kreme brings back sell-out doughnuts - but you'll have to be quick: 'OMG I need it'

Krispy Kreme Australia has quietly relaunched a fan favourite doughnut after it sold out across stores earlier this year. Foodies are rushing to get their hands on the Pistachio Overload Doughnut in collaboration with Pistachio Papi - an Aussie spread. The treat is made with Krispy Kreme's signature fluffy doughnut, filled with creamy pistachio mousse, dipped in silky Pistachio Papi spread, sprinkled with caramelised hazelnuts, and finished with a decadent white chocolate drizzle. The doughnuts were sold popular during its first collaboration in February that they were selling out by 10am every day at all stores across the country. Those who missed out last time are encouraged to act swiftly as it's only available for two weeks until June 3 - or while stock lasts. However, the delicious treat is only available across stores in NSW, VIC, WA, and QLD. After sharing the news on social media, fans marvelled over the return of the pistachio-flavoured doughnut. 'Omg need!' one wrote. 'I gained 2kg from eating so much of these last time,' another added. 'I can't wait!' another said on Instagram. However, not everyone was impressed by the decision to only offer the doughnuts for a limited time and exclude certain locations. 'Why keep making it a limited edition? Why not sell it everyday? People like me can't travel to buy one,' one asked. 'What about South Australia?' another said. Pistachio Papi Founder, Mark Abdelmalik said: 'The response from Aussies to our first Pistachio Papi x Krispy Kreme collaboration was absolutely incredible! 'And honestly, how could we not do this again? The people wanted more, so we had to give the people what they wanted!' Krispy Kreme's Marketing Manager, Laura Pashby added: 'At Krispy Kreme, we're committed to creating innovative, joy-filled experiences for our fans. We are extremely grateful for all the love and support during our first launch.'

Popular doughnut returns after selling out

A viral doughnut that sold out within hours of hitting shelves is coming back. Krispy Kreme launched a collaboration with Pistachio Papi – an Australian-owned and Italian-made nut spread – back in February, sending fans into a tailspin with the news. The sweet treat quickly sold out in most stores on day one, and appeared to be completely wipes off shelves by day two. But now, it can be revealed that customers in New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia and Queensland can nab the Pistachio Overload Doughnut from May 21 until June 4. Laura Pashby, marketing manager at Krispy Kreme ANZ, said the previous collab was an 'absolute hit'. 'The response last time was incredible — we had fans flooding our inboxes asking (begging!) for it to return. So bringing it back was a no-brainer,' she said. 'The Pistachio Overload Doughnut has become one of our most-loved limited-time treats. This time around, we've ramped up production nationwide with extra hands on deck, so more Aussies can get a taste before it's gone.' It's also the first time that customers in WA will get to try the green glazed pastry — as well as our friends in New Zealand. Ms Pashby said she believed the doughnut took off because of the pistachio hype, which is in part due to the viral Dubai chocolate craze. Mark Abdelmalik, the founder of Pistachio Papi, said doing the collaboration again was a no-brainer. The 'people wanted more, so we had to give the people what they wanted,' he said. 'We've been hearing from fans non-stop, asking for its return, and we're beyond excited to work with the fabulous Krispy Kreme team again to make this nutty goodness a dream come true. 'We know Aussies are going to fall in love with this pistachio overload all over again.' In February, fans were desperate to get their hands on the doughnut and shared their struggles on social media, with TikTok user @thecakeupartist posting a video of herself in the drive-through at Krispy Kreme asking for two of them. 'We don't have that one unfortunately, we've sold out,' the worker can be heard explaining. She said she was going to 'cry' after being told, but stressed she would try again another day. Another store resorted to putting a sign on the box at the drive-through to inform customers it had sold out of the treat. Mr Abdelamlik revealed he had been inundated with messages about the in-demand product in a series of Instagram Stories – with one store already sold out by 8:40am on one of the days. Sharing a number of messages from frustrated shoppers, Mr Abdelmalik said it was 'ridiculous' that people were unable to get their hands on the sought-after item. 'Mate, Krispy Kreme Sydney airport was so underprepared. They said they got about 100 phone calls and they don't have any. I was in the line in and about five people came after me came. I've just rocked up and there's nothing there,' one text read. Another said: 'Fountain Gate was so quick.' One added: 'They sold out sooo quickly, by 8am Fawkner were sold out. They said they only get limited stock.'

'I tried new Krispy Kreme pistachio doughnut and one feature surprised me'

Krispy Kreme released its new Pistachio Overload doughnut in UK stores over the weekend after it was first launched in Australia last month and a food reviewer has now given her verdict on the treat Krispy Kreme has released a new pistachio doughnut in the UK. Following the success of the viral Dubai chocolate bar, there has been a surge in pistachio flavoured desserts and sweet treats. The chocolate bar is known for being filled with having pistachio cream and now the popular doughnut company has jumped on the trend. The arrival of the Pistachio Overload doughnut in the UK comes after it was launched exclusively in Australia last month, much to the delight of fans. Food reviewer Angelina, known on social media for determining whether trending treats are 'Angelina certified', picked up some of the Krispy Kreme pistachio doughnuts and was surprised by one thing when she put them to the test. ‌ She shared her honest thoughts in a TikTok video. After taking a bite of the doughnut, her eyes lit up and she said: 'This is actually so leng, I don't think you understand, like I really like it.' ‌ The food reviewer added that the pistachio cream inside the baked good was 'so sweet' and she was surprised to find that it was 'like pistachio whipped cream rather than just pistachio spread.' Angelina noted that it was 'very, very fluffy' and had a 'kind of floral' aftertaste. She continued: 'I actually can't stop eating it because it's so good.' The dessert fan concluded: 'This is so bad, I literally bought six of them and I feel like I'm gonna eat all of it today.' Angelina scored the Krispy Kreme Pistachio Overload doughnut a nine out of 10 and decided that it was indeed 'Angelina certified.' People took to social media back in February begging for the doughnut to be launched in the UK following its release Down Under, so fans were thrilled to see Krispy Kreme answering their prayers. ‌ The doughnut is filled with a pistachio cream from the award-winning Manchester dessert company BLACK MILK, and is topped with candied pistachio nibs and a white chocolate drizzle. Krispy Kreme first launched the doughnut in the UK in Manchester on Sunday, May 11 before rolling it out to the rest of the UK and Ireland the following day. Angelina's TikTok video has garnered 141,300 views, 12,700 likes and almost 200 comments, at the time of writing. ‌ The top comment is from Krispy Kreme itself who said: 'We need to add Angelina Certified to our bio.' The doughnut giant has in fact included @Angelina certified in its bio on TikTok. Another viewer added: 'I fear I would eat this all in one sitting.' A third chimed in: 'I bet it tasted amazing.' However, not everyone shared the same opinion as someone else remarked: 'I tried one today and I didn't like it at all and I love pistachio! Glazed raspberry all day long!' The Krispy Kreme doughnut can be bought from UK stores for £3.49.

Not only has Krispy Kreme brought the flavour from Australia to the UK, it teamed up with a British company to produce the yummy taste. The Pistachio Overload doughnut officially made it into stores on Monday (May 12), but was available at Krispy Kremes in Manchester a day earlier. That was due to the fact Krispy Kreme had teamed up with the Mancunian brand, Blackmilk, to create the iconic dessert. Blackmilk's beloved Pistachio Cream spread is being used in the baking of the new doughnut flavour. The green delight is topped with the Blackmilk cream, a white chocolate drizzle and candied pistachio nibs, while Krispy Kreme's trademarked pistachio cream fills the doughnut. Krispy Kreme confirmed to The Sun that Pistachio Overload will be available for £3.49 in all UK and Ireland stores until May 25. It will land in Tesco UK branches on May 19 until May 25. The UK shop that top star says should be on 'UK Heritage List' - as it's better than the Eiffel Tower Krispy Kreme announced the doughnut's arrival on social media and said it hoped the news would make up for the April Fools' joke it had played on its followers. On April 1, the brand posted a "message" from its managing director saying that after 87 years, it would be discontinuing its famous glazed doughnut. The joke letter said the decision had been made in order to create space for the reintroduced, raspberry glazed doughnut. The jam-filled treat was first discontinued in November 2024, causing a stir among sweet-toothed customers. Even Alison Hammond begged the brand not to axe her favourite flavour on ITV's This Morning. The flavour is back by popular demand thanks to a nationwide public vote - dubbed "The Great Doughbate". This poll took place in Krispy Kreme shops and across social media between March 17 and 23. Fans were given the opportunity to decide which discontinued favourite flavour to bring back. The Glazed Raspberry was pitted against another fan favourite, Chocolate Custard. However, the fruity flavour won out with the British public, receiving 66% of the total votes. 5 Krispy Kreme teamed up with British brand Black Milk to create the doughnut Credit: Black Milk
