British couple 'lucky to get out alive' after their apartment in Spain is destroyed in arson attack which has left them homeless
A British couple were 'lucky to get out alive' after their home in Ibiza was destroyed in a suspected arson attack, leaving them and their children homeless. Dan and Marie Williams and their two young daughters are said to have been left 'relying on the generosity of friends' after a devastating fire ripped through their apartment building in the Playa d'en Bossa area in southern Ibiza on June 10. The blaze is believed to have been started by a local man and woman who set two restaurants and a shop on the ground floor of the block of flats alight. The flames quickly spread to the surrounding businesses and caused severe damage to the apartments above, including Dan and Marie's home on the first floor. Speaking about her family's horrifying ordeak in a Facebook post, Mrs Marie - who owns a beauty salon on the island - said: 'We were asleep in bed and ran barefoot with seconds to spare through thick smoke to escape. We were so lucky!! 'My apartment is wrecked from smoke damage so we are currently staying with friends as insurance doesn't cover enough for Ibiza prices. 'It's going to be a long journey to get back to normal in the height of summer when we are both working with two small children.' In a separate social media post, Mr Williams - a DJ - said: 'Everything is completely overwhelming for our little family at the believe that two people could set fire to a restaurant in the middle of the night knowing full well that [families] were fast asleep above them. We are so lucky and grateful to be alive.' On June 10, a fire was allegedly started by a local man and woman in the shops and buildings in the ground floor of an apartment building. Fire spread and damaged the flats above, including Dan and Marie's apartment on the first floor The father-of-two also shared police drone footage of the fire, with the video showing the whole apartment complex embattled by the blaze. A separate video shows a firefighter tirelessly hosing down the quick-spreading flames. The couple's flat is currently covered in black toxic dust and has no water supply, making their home uninhabitable. A friend of the couple, Catherine Melhuish, started a GoFundMe to raise money for the family. In the fundraiser's description, Ms Melhuish explained that the couple and their kids are having to stay with friends until their home is safe to live in again. 'My lovely friends Dan and Marie had their beautiful home destroyed by smoke damage after the huge fire in the restaurants below their apartment block in Playa d'en Bossa... This has been absolutely devastating for them and they were lucky to get out alive!', the GoFundMe says. 'The insurance only covered the cost of a hotel for a few nights and they are now relying on the generosity of friends for places to stay whilst they wait for their apartment to be safe to live in again. 'At the apartment there is no water supply and all the waste pipes have melted causing sewage to leak out under the block. Everything inside is covered in toxic black dust and the smell is unbearable.' Images shared on the fundraiser's website shows the damage done to the couple's home, with black dusk seen covering the floors and walls of the apartment. Ms Melhuish added that the couple have to get their apartment professionally cleaned and painted and also need to have all their furnishings, kitchen and bathrooms replaced. 'The insurance money offered is minimal and everything needs to be paid for upfront before the claim can be processed', she added. The couple have also had to take time off work. 'Dan is self are losing money every day,' Ms Melhuish said on the fundraising page. 'Any donations will be greatly appreciated and relieve some of their stress and worry. 'Let's help get their life back to normal and make their home a safe and clean place for Dan, Marie, the kids and their little dog to live in again.' The fire was allegedly started by a man and a woman on June 10, Spanish Eye reports. The woman, who reportedly lives on the beach, had been asked to leave one of the restaurants on the ground floor of the building the day before. She then returned with her partner the next day and allegedly set the restaurant on fire in an act of revenge. The couple were later arrested and charged with arson. This is the latest house fire to have affected Britons living in Spain. Last year, an elderly British couple were killed in a fire in their home near Benidorm. Firefighters and other emergency responders raced to the scene after being alerted by a neighbour at their porperty in the Costa Blanca resort of Denia. But there was nothing they could do to save the pair's lives and they were pronounced dead at the scene after their bodies were found inside.

Hell's Kitchen Ibiza opened its doors on June 9th. Europe's very first Hell's Kitchen opened its doors this month, just in time to kick off a new season in Ibiza. This marks the very first foray into Spain for celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay and his restaurant group. Located in the heart of Playa d'en Bossa, the beautifully designed restaurant is just steps away from the sea and fits perfectly as the newest dining establishment in the wildly popular party destination. Beef Wellington 'Ibiza was a clear choice for our first European opening,' says Andy Wenlock, CEO of Gordon Ramsay Restaurants. 'The island is famous for combining a thriving hospitality sector with an unmatched energy and international audience, making it an ideal environment to introduce the Hell's Kitchen experience to Europe.' Located inside the newly rebranded The Unexpected Ibiza Hotel (formerly The Ushuaïa Tower), it's the property's sixth restaurant and is projected to quickly become its most coveted. 'Partnering with Palladium Hotel Group has allowed us to deliver an experience that stays true to the Hell's Kitchen brand while thoughtfully reflecting the character and spirit of Ibiza, and our partners,' says Wenlock. Aimed to be more than just your typical restaurant, Hell's Kitchen Ibiza promises high-energy and entertainment that matches the property's vibe. With it being located adjacent to the iconic Ushuaïa day club, dining here is meant to be lively and will invoke those expected Ibiza party moments. 'I'm so excited to be bringing Hell's Kitchen to the electrifying island of Ibiza this summer,' says Ramsay. 'This place has it all — explosive energy, legendary nightlife, and a food scene that's absolutely world-class. Ibiza is the ultimate backdrop for the bold, high-octane experience that is Hell's Kitchen.' Hell's Kitchen Ibiza will feature the core elements that define the Hell's Kitchen brand: high impact dining, bold design, and dynamic service, but will then layer in a plenty of uniquely local character. 'From exclusive dishes and cocktails that reflect Ibizan culture, to a seamless connection between dinner and nightlife, this exciting new site reimagines what the Hell's Kitchen experience can be in an exciting European luxury environment,' explains Wenlock. Pan-seared scallops The menu at Hell's Kitchen Ibiza is rooted in the flavors of the island of Ibiza and surrounding Spanish influences. 'Our expert culinary team has drawn inspiration from Ibiza's rich local ingredients, Mediterranean heritage, and food culture to create a selection of exclusive dishes unique to this location,' says Wenlock. 'While guests may notice global influences in some of the flavors, including subtle spice profiles, the focus remains on capturing the spirit and essence of Ibiza through every plate.' New to the menu items include hell-fired scallops, Basque-style cheesecake, and whole grilled branzino. Of course, you'll still find the classics like Ramsay's iconic beef Wellington, pan-seared scallops, and ultra creamy lobster risotto, and sticky-toffee pudding on the menu. Guests can marvel at the dishes being prepared in the expansive open kitchen that acts as a focal point for most of the dining room's tables. The bar at Hell's Kitchen Ibiza is not only stunning and perfectly backlit, but it's an ideal spot for after-dinner drinks or to pregame before a wild night out around the island. The cocktail menu features bestselling cocktails from Hell's Kitchen's global outposts, including the bright and refreshing Eighteen Stars made with tequila, cointreau, yellow pepper, passion fruit, and lime. The bar at Hell's Kitchen Ibiza Additionally, there's also a selection of exclusive-to-Ibiza cocktails including the The Thyme Traveller made with hierbas ibicencas (the island's signature anise-flavored spirit) giving it a distinct herbaceous flavor. While this is the first Hell's Kitchen in Europe and the brand's first restaurant in Spain, it certainly doesn't seem like it will be the last. 'Ibiza marks an exciting chapter for us, and naturally, we're keeping an eye on where the brand could go next,' says Wenlock. 'Europe presents a number of compelling opportunities, but for now, our focus is on delivering an exceptional experience in Ibiza and listening closely to our guests.' Hell's Kitchen Ibiza is open daily for dinner starting at 7 p.m. on the ground floor of The Unexpected Ibiza Hotel.

But before the big day she was letting her hair down on the party island and enjoyed cocktail while topping up her tan. The mum of three showed off her toned figure in a white bandeau bikini and sun hat while living it up at the Hard Rock Hotel near Playa d'en Bossa. She completed her look with white sandals and wore her brunette tresses in loose waves over her shoulders. The TV personality, 28, who has been dating West Ham footballer Jarrod Bowen, also 28, since 2021, is set to tie the knot next Saturday with him It comes after Dani looked nothing short of sensational as she hit the town in Ibiza for the first night of her second hen do on Friday. Posing at sunset, Dani stunned in a chic white sparkly mini dress that showcased her legs. The stylish number featured spaghetti straps, a sweetheart neckline, a fitted bustier, and an A-line skirt. She elevated the look with white heels and accessorised with a mini silver handbag with a pearl handle. Earlier in the day, Dani reposted a snap of herself at duty-free in the airport. Dressed in a Mrs Bowen T-shirt and white veil, she looked excited as she prepared to jet off to Ibiza. She later posted the sunset snaps to her Instagram feed, captioning the post: 'First night of my hen (love heart emoji)' Meanwhile, Jarrod will be jetting off to Las Vegas for his stag do as he prepares to marry the Love Island star. He will fly to Sin City for a boozy bash after playing his final West Ham game on Sunday. She completed her look with white sandals and wore her brunette tresses in loose waves over her shoulders Meanwhile, Jarrod will be jetting off to Las Vegas for his stag do as he prepares to marry the Love Island star He will fly to Sin City for a boozy bash after playing his final West Ham game on Sunday Jarrod will fly out to Vegas on Monday and return on Thursday, a risky choice with the wedding just two days later. However, Dani's 'hardman' actor dad Danny will also be flying out to the US for the stag trip so intends to be on hand to keep Jarrod in check. A source told The Sun: 'Jarrod plays his final game of the season for West Ham on Sunday and will then fly to Vegas with the boys the following morning. 'It's going to be a typical lads trip but Danny will be on hand to keep an eye on things so they don't get out of hand — but he's such a wild one himself, it's more likely Jarrod will be keeping an eye on him. 'Dani has already warned she doesn't want to hear of any strippers being involved.' It comes weeks after Dani downed shots of Tequila Rose and danced the night away at her UK hen do. After previously teasing a glimpse of the celebrations, Dani shared a slew of snaps of her partying with her pals on Instagram. She looked sensational in a strapless white mini dress which boasted a corset mesh top with pearl detailing and a ruched skirt, while all her guests wore black. Dani added a pair of long mesh pearl sleeves which were embroidered with the words 'To be Bowen' as she sipped Aperol Spritz and her her hair down. The daughter of Danny 's lavish bash was decorated with fairy lights and her name in huge LED letters on the dance floor while guests were treated to 'Until Death Do Us Part' desserts. She posed for playful snaps while donning a pair of heart-shaped shades and captioned the post: 'The best night ever'. Dani was seen in one clip singing and dancing with Love Island bestie Georgia Steel and her lookalike little sister Sunny. Dani recently admitted her fears over her fiancé Jarrod 's upcoming stag do, with her dad Danny joking that there will be strippers. Discussing the plans for the hen and stag parties as the big day draws closer, the daughter and father duo butted heads over one racy topic. Explaining the timeline on their Live And Let Dyers podcast, Dani explained: 'I literally get back from my Hen on the Monday and then I get married on the Saturday. And if you can go, Jarod gets back Thursday and then married Saturday.' That's when Danny cheered and shouted out: 'Strippers!,' much to his daughter's dismay. 'No, you're not,' insisted Dani, who went on to explain that at a different Hen she attended, they had a butler in the buff. Dani said: 'We had to draw him, we had to draw the naked man. It's different, it's so different. I don't care.' Not giving in, Danny quipped: 'It's sexism this, this is sexism at its height ladies and gentlemen.' The former Love Island star replied: 'It's not sexist, I'm just saying he was literally standing there in his apron and then you had to draw him. Then he turns around and straddles the chair.' Danny then questioned: 'Okay so this is fine because you're a woman but God forbid a group of men, I know it seems a bit more aggressive and a bit more odd, have a stripper who's a woman. Would you rather we had the butler in the buff?' To which Dani defended it by saying: 'Women are funny, a man standing there, we're all taking the p***, all doing shots, he's pouring us champagne. If a woman stands there with her t**s out men aren't gonna sit there and draw t**s. It's so different.' 'It is, you're looking at a human form that's naked,' argued Danny, before his daughter admitted the butler had a 'great a***'. Shocked, he laughed: 'Let's just rewind a little bit. If we did have a stripper and I commented Jarrod said she had a great a*** you would be f****** fuming.' Dani simply admitted: 'Would I want him to have a stripper? Absolutely not, I wouldn't like it.'
