Huge fire in Bracebridge destroys home and outbuildings
With a plume of smoke seen for miles, a fire in the area of Matthiasville Road brought about 30 firefighters to extinguish the blaze.
Six fire trucks were called to the Tuesday evening fire from Bracebridge Fire Department Stations 1 and 2, with another four firefighters monitoring the scene Wednesday morning.
Plested said the home and at least two structures are a complete loss and it's not clear if the homeowner has insurance.
The Ontario Fire Marshal's Office estimates the damage to be more than $1,000,000.
