Paul George Doesn't Hold Back on Caitlin Clark's Trash Talk
Paul George Doesn't Hold Back on Caitlin Clark's Trash Talk originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has become one of the biggest names in basketball over the past few years. She's known not just for her deep logo threes but also for her willingness to speak her mind, whether it's talking to the refs or trash-talking other players. Advertisement Through the first four games of this season, that's been evident, as she's averaging 19.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 9.3 assists. In a recent game against the Atlanta Dream, Clark had a moment with guard Rhyne Howard, telling her, "I'm not scared of you," after the two got into it. NBA star Paul George discussed Clark's game on his podcast, "Podcast P with Paul George", and touched on her trash talk. He was honest, saying he loves her and thinks "she's great for the game of basketball." "Not only is her game talking (expletive), but she's out there talking (expletive)," George said. "Like, she's backing it up... I love her too, man. I think she's great for the game of basketball in general, bro." George also spoke about how Clark was basically handed the face of the WNBA and "there's going to be girls that think she's got to earn it." Advertisement "You gotta put it in perspective, right?" George said. "These girls have been grinding to grow the game of basketball in the WNBA. They've been grinding to grow the sport to the world of viewerships. They've been grinding for all of this. "And then you have this girl that comes along from college and is an instant change. She's handed pretty much being the face of the league. There's going to be girls that are offended by that. And there's going to be girls that think she's got to earn it. And she doesn't deserve this early." Advertisement "She's handled it great. I think she's performed last year," George stated. "She's performing again this year. I think she's the rightful face of the WNBA. Up there with A'ja Wilson, with Napheesa, with still some of the legends, Breanna Stewart, Kelsey Plum, the new up-and-coming rising star, bunky Paige Beckers." The attention surrounding Clark didn't come out of nowhere. In her rookie WNBA season, she was an All-Star, named to the All-WNBA First Team, won Rookie of the Year, and led the league in assists. Sixers' Paul George has advice for Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards
Sixers' Paul George has advice for Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards The game of basketball is all about progression and development. In order to be a star in this league, one has to keep growing and take steps forward in his game to be at that next level. That is the challenge for Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards. After a blowout loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals, Edwards and the Wolves are in the same position they were in 2024 when they were blown out in Game 5 by the Dallas Mavericks. Edwards had some big moments against the Thunder--most notably the Game 3 win--but his scoring average of 23.0 points in the series combined with his 28.2% 3-point percentage left a lot to be desired. Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George offered up some advice to Edwards as he continues with his career. On the latest episode of "Podcast P with Paul George": I think Ant's gotta get better at he's gotta develop a post game. Where he can let the game slow down, where he can get to one dribble and raise up and shoot, and I think that helps a player get into a rhythm a lot better, where he starts closer and he doesn't have to worry about bringing two defenders to the ball to try to get free, get to an elbow, get to the mid post, where you can see the whole floor, and play from there. So I think that's the next evolution for Ant. Edwards is only 23 years old. One has to believe that he is going to continue taking these steps forward as a superstar and develop into one of the best players the league has seen. As for George and the Sixers, they will be looking to get healthy and capitalize on the talent they possess after a miserable 2024-25 season.

Now, all eyes are on their young star Tyrese Haliburton. While Indiana stumbled in Game 5 against the New York Knicks, the spotlight remains firmly on Haliburton. Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George recently delivered high praise, calling Haliburton 'the face of the NBA' while asserting that Haliburton is reaching superstardom. Paul George hails Tyrese Haliburton as a superstar in the making In his recent podcast Podcast P with Paul George, Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George didn't hold back when discussing Haliburton's emergence as a league leader. 'He's the face of the NBA,' George declared. 'I've heard a lot of people critique Tyrese Haliburton. Some of it's fair, some of it's a stretch… This is his coming out party. He's established now. This is what we expect from him on a nightly basis.' Paul George on If Tyrese Haliburton Has Reached Superstar Status George acknowledged Haliburton's role in the Pacers' postseason success, including leading the team to the NBA's first in-season tournament and showing consistent late-game heroics. 'He's been a clutch performer late in games. I think he's got one of the highest closing percentages in the NBA,' George said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo 'He's proven he's reliable as the number one option.' Although Haliburton is primarily a pass-first point guard, George praised his versatility, 'He can be your late-game scorer. He can be an isolation player… He scratched the surface of superstardom. He's here.' But with high praise comes high expectations, and that pressure showed in Game 5. The Pacers fell flat in Madison Square Garden, losing 111-94 and allowing the Knicks to cut the series deficit to 3-2. Haliburton, who was electric in Game 4 with a triple-double, managed just 8 points in the loss. Following the game, Haliburton was not losing his mind over the loss. He urged his team to stay focused. 'We're a resilient group,' he told ESPN. 'We understand what the stakes are... We're fine. There's no need to panic or anything.' That mindset will be crucial in Game 6, especially with analysts like Charles Barkley calling it a 'must-win' for Indiana. If they lose at home, a Game 7 in New York looms. Now with the target on your back, that's when you're bonafide. That's when you're solidified.' For Haliburton and the Pacers, Game 6 could be that defining moment.

Sixers' Paul George makes bold claim about Pacers' Tyrese Haliburton
Sixers' Paul George makes bold claim about Pacers' Tyrese Haliburton The NBA is currently in a transition phase. The league is looking for its new face as the era of LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant is about to end with all three legendary players nearing retirement. Without those three, the league will need to appoint a new face of the league. There are plenty of fantastic options to choose from. There's Jalen Brunson up in New York, MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander out in Oklahoma City, Nikola Jokic in Denver, and even Joel Embiid in Philadelphia. However, Sixers star Paul George has a name that not a lot of people are considering: Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton. On an episode of "Podcast P with Paul George": In my eyes, I think he is a superstar. He's the face of the NBA. He is the number one option. He's a set-up point first, but he can be your late-game scorer. He's been a clutch performer late in games. He can be an isolation player--that's just not his calling. I want to see him continue to do this, which I know he will. Haliburton has the Pacers on the cusp of the NBA Finals as they currently lead the Knicks 3-2 in the Eastern Conference finals. As the series shifts back to Gainbridge Fieldhouse for Game 6 on Saturday, Haliburton will look to cement his case for being the new face of the NBA by guiding the Pacers to their first finals appearance since 2000.

Sixers star Paul George heaps more praise upon Rutgers' Ace Bailey
Sixers star Paul George heaps more praise upon Rutgers' Ace Bailey The Philadelphia 76ers will have plenty of options to choose from with the No. 3 pick in the 2025 NBA draft on June 25, but it appears that there is one player that continues to pop up in the minds of most: Rutgers star Ace Bailey. It appears that the consensus of this draft will be Duke phenom Cooper Flagg will go No. 1 to the Dallas Mavericks while Rutgers star Dylan Harper will go No. 2 to the San Antonio Spurs. The next logical choice would by Bailey going to Philadelphia with the No. 3 pick. If the Sixers were to select Bailey, it appears he already has a fan on the team in the form of Paul George. The 9-time All-Star continues to praise him as he stated on "Podcast P with Paul George": What I love about him is that I think he has big-time potential. He has big-time talent. He can score from any spot on the floor. He has an isolation game, which you don't see that often in kids that size, that early. He can make plays. He can shoot over top of defenses. He can take advantage of mismatches. He can handle the ball in pick-and-rolls. He can catch-and-shoot. He can defend. I've seen him play elite defense. There is a lot that Bailey can do on the floor. He has a lot of length and athleticism which makes him a valuable player on defense. There are question marks about his ability on the offensive end, but he has the ability to put the ball in the basket at a high level. He just needs to improve his shot selection. That is something that will hold him back in the beginning, but should improve over time.
