State to adopt zero-tolerance policy towards narcotics: Dy CM Sharma
Raipur: Chhattisgarh will adopt a zero-tolerance policy towards narcotics, said Deputy Chief minister Vijay Sharma who also holds Home portfolio, chaired a review meeting of top cops at Secretariat on Thursday.
Sharma directed officials that every case be investigated end-to-end—tracking the entire trafficking network, financial transactions, and identifying all associates—to dismantle the trade from its roots. Range-wise reports on drug destruction and actions taken under the PIT-NDPS Act were also reviewed.
On police recruitment, Sharma directed that all hiring processes must be transparent, impartial, and completed within a set timeframe.
He also called for wide publicity of the toll-free number for complaints related to illegal immigrants, ensuring swift action on any such report to safeguard public peace and security.
The meeting also reviewed progress on buildings under construction by the Police Housing Corporation and the PWD.
