Ozzy shared the post on Twitter nearly four years ago alongside a photo of himself with Sharon. At the time, Sharon shared, 'Our relationship at times was often wild, insane and dangerous but it was our undying love that kept us together. We're thrilled to partner with Sony Pictures and Polygram to bring our story to the screen.' She will produce the film along with their children Jack and Aimee Osbourne, as well as Polygram's Michele Anthony and David Blackman and Sony's Andrea Giannetti. During an episode of The Osbournes Podcast in 2024, Ozzy shared a blunt update on the progression of the film. 'By the time they finish this film, I'll be dead,' he said. 'I wanna be alive to fucking see it.' Sharon added, 'Movies take forever to make.' The musician died on July 22 at the age of 76. Jack noted that the film is expected to span their relationship between 1979 and 1999. The family debated which actors should play the leading roles, with Sharon expressing interest in Florence Pugh and Kelly noting that her father should be played by 'an unknown actor who is very good,' adding, 'I don't think there's anyone you could think of now who would be able to do it.' Jack pitched Bill Hader for the role, but received a swift 'Fuck off' from Ozzy in response. No Escape From Now, an upcoming documentary about Ozzy's health setbacks in recent years and his desire to stage a farewell concert, will also still arrive later this year. Dave Hogan A representative for Polygram Entertainment confirmed to Variety on Wednesday that 'they're currently in negotiations with a director, which could be confirmed very soon.' In 2021, Polygram Entertainment partnered with Osbourne Media, the family's media company, to announce plans for a film about Ozzy and Sharon's legendary relationship. Sharon, 72, as well as two of her and Ozzy's children, Jack and Aimee Osbourne, were attached to produce, with Oscar nominee Lee Hall — behind 2019's 'Rocketman' and 2000's 'Billy Elliot' — set to write the screenplay. 6 Ozzy, Sharon, Kelly and Jack Osbourne in 2002. 'We're thrilled to partner with Sony Pictures and Polygram [Entertainment] to bring our story to the screen.' It was also reported in 2021 that the film would feature music from Black Sabbath alongside songs from the late heavy metal legend's solo career. Ozzy and Sharon were married from 1982 until his death on July 22 at the age of 76. In addition to Jack, 39, and Aimee, 41, the couple had another child, daughter Kelly, 40. 6 Ozzy Osbourne and his family at his Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony. According to a statement shared with The Post at the time of his death, Ozzy passed away 'surrounded by love.' 'It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,' the statement read. 'He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Getty Images On August 5, the late rocker's cause of death was officially confirmed as cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease and Parkinson's disease. That same day, Ozzy's youngest son, Jack, publicly addressed his father's passing for the first time, saying he stayed quiet because his 'heart has hurt too much.' 'I'm going to keep this short because he certainly hated long, rambling speeches,' Jack wrote on Instagram. 'He was so many things to so many people, but I was so lucky and blessed to be apart of a very small group that got to call him 'Dad.'' 6 Ozzy, Sharon, Kelly and Jack Osbourne at Ozzfest in 2002. WireImage He continued, 'My heart is full of so much sadness and sorrow, but also so much love and gratitude. I got 14,501 days with that man, and I know that is such a blessing.' Jack then shared a quote from author Hunter S. Thompson, which he said 'best describes [his] father.' It read, 'Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body… but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! What a ride!'' 'That was my dad,' he concluded. 'He lived, and he lived his life fully. I love you dad.' Jack paired his tribute with a throwback clip from a 1997 'Howard Stern Show' appearance with his dad, as well as a photo montage of the two over the years, set to Ozzy's 1983 ballad, 'So Tired.' A week earlier, on July 31, he was laid to rest beside the lake at his Buckinghamshire home, following a funeral procession held the day before in his hometown of Birmingham, England.

Ozzy Osbourne Biopic: Everything we know so far about the upcoming movie

The world lost Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary 'Prince of Darkness,' on July 22, 2025, but his larger-than-life story is set to live on through a much-anticipated biopic. As the frontman of Black Sabbath and a solo rock icon, Ozzy's life was a whirlwind of groundbreaking music, wild antics, and an unbreakable bond with his wife, Sharon. With his passing still fresh, here's everything we know about the upcoming film that'll honour his legacy. A Raw and Unfiltered Look at Ozzy's Life Advertisement This isn't going to be some polished, sugarcoated Hollywood flick. Jack Osbourne, Ozzy's son, has promised a film that's 'raw' and real, showing the good, the bad, and the downright chaotic parts of his dad's journey. Think Black Sabbath's groundbreaking riffs, Ozzy's struggles with addiction, and those infamous moments—like that bat incident (he thought it was fake, for the record). Jack's made it clear they're not shying away from the flaws, which is refreshing. It's about showing the man behind the myth, from his game-changing music to the personal battles that nearly derailed him. The movie, backed by Sony Pictures and Polygram Entertainment, is diving into the years 1979 to 1999. That's when Ozzy split from Black Sabbath, launched his solo career with bangers like Crazy Train, and became a reality TV pioneer with The Osbournes. It's also the era of his epic partnership with Sharon, who's been his rock, manager, and occasional sparring partner through it all. Script, Director, and Production Buzz The biopic's been cooking for a while—talk of it first popped up in 2021. Now, things are heating up. Jack recently spilled that they've got a completed script, and a director's on board. He's keeping the director's name hush-hush but called them a 'phenomenal' filmmaker and a huge Ozzy fan. That's a good sign—someone who gets Ozzy's vibe is key to nailing this story. The script comes from Lee Hall, the guy behind Rocketman, and it's getting a polish to make sure it captures the gritty heart of Ozzy's world. Expect the soundtrack to be a banger, packed with Black Sabbath classics like Paranoid and Iron Man, plus Ozzy's solo hits. Sony's pulling out all the stops, and with the Osbourne family's involvement through their production company, Osbourne Media, this feels like a passion project, not just another music biopic. Potential Release Date No official release date yet, but Jack's hinted at 2027 as a possibility. Sharon's been real about how long movies take, saying, 'It's a slow process, but it's worth it to get it right.' Ozzy, ever the joker, quipped last year, 'I better be alive when this thing comes out!' The guy's got a point—fans are itching to see it, especially after his emotional final concert in Birmingham on July 5, 2025. That show, Back to the Beginning, was a massive send-off with 40,000 fans and cameos from Metallica and Guns N' Roses. There's even talk of premiering the film in Birmingham to honour Ozzy's roots. Who's Playing Ozzy and Sharon? Casting is the big question on everyone's mind. Sharon and Kelly Osbourne have thrown out some dream picks for Sharon's role. They're big fans of Florence Pugh (Oppenheimer, Dune: Part Two) for her intensity and range. Kelly also name-dropped Bella Ramsey (The Last of Us) as a contender. For Ozzy, Jack suggested Bill Hader for his comedic chops, but Kelly's pushing for an unknown actor to keep it fresh. No confirmations yet, so the speculation game is strong—fans are already picturing who could pull off Ozzy's signature snarl and stage swagger.

‘Selena Y Los Dinos' Documentary Feature Acquired By Netflix

EXCLUSIVE: Netflix is going to bring 'Bidi Bidi Bom Bom' into the homes of Selena Quintanilla fans all over the world as the streamer acquires the rights to the documentary feature Selena y Los Dinos, directed by Isabel Castro. The film will be released globally on Netflix later this winter. The news arrives following a late February story from Deadline's Editor-in-Chief of Film, Mike Fleming, Jr., which revealed the streamer was working on a $6M to $7M deal to acquire the title. He said the deal 'puts a different face on the recently completed Sundance fest, because that is a high amount for a documentary.' 'Selena y Los Dinos became so popular that when Sundance put it on its portal for industry to watch, the film had to be taken down so quickly because fervent fans were getting hold of clips and posting them,' he added. Grateful to have a platform that helps bring Selena's story to fans around the world,' shared Quintanilla's sister, Suzette Quintanilla, who also executive produced the doc, in a statement to Deadline. Added director Castro, 'It is an absolute honor to partner with Netflix, who will bring Selena y Los Dinos to a worldwide audience. Selena's legacy is so meaningful and continues to inspire millions. As a filmmaker, I wanted to honor her extraordinary rise and enduring legacy, while also giving a window into her life behind the stage.
