'@SonyPictures and Polygram Entertainment are developing a biopic chronicling the extraordinary life of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, and the great love story between him and his wife, Sharon,' parties attached to the film shared in 2021. Ozzy shared the post on Twitter nearly four years ago alongside a photo of himself with Sharon.
At the time, Sharon shared, 'Our relationship at times was often wild, insane and dangerous but it was our undying love that kept us together. We're thrilled to partner with Sony Pictures and Polygram to bring our story to the screen.' She will produce the film along with their children Jack and Aimee Osbourne, as well as Polygram's Michele Anthony and David Blackman and Sony's Andrea Giannetti.
During an episode of The Osbournes Podcast in 2024, Ozzy shared a blunt update on the progression of the film. 'By the time they finish this film, I'll be dead,' he said. 'I wanna be alive to fucking see it.' Sharon added, 'Movies take forever to make.' The musician died on July 22 at the age of 76.
Jack noted that the film is expected to span their relationship between 1979 and 1999. The family debated which actors should play the leading roles, with Sharon expressing interest in Florence Pugh and Kelly noting that her father should be played by 'an unknown actor who is very good,' adding, 'I don't think there's anyone you could think of now who would be able to do it.' Jack pitched Bill Hader for the role, but received a swift 'Fuck off' from Ozzy in response.
No Escape From Now, an upcoming documentary about Ozzy's health setbacks in recent years and his desire to stage a farewell concert, will also still arrive later this year.

Rod Stewart Under Fire For Strange ‘Forever Young' Ozzy Osbourne AI Tribute: ‘Craziest Most Disrespectful S–t I Ever Saw'
What was clearly intended as a loving tribute to a beloved fellow English music legend turned sour last week when Rod Stewart's homage to late heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne drew rebuke from some commenters. As seen in fan video of the moment, during Stewart's show in Charlotte, N.C. on July 29, the 80-year-old singer posted a bizarre AI-generated video of Osbourne — who died on July 22 at age 76 of undisclosed causes — mugging for selfies in heaven with a variety of fellow deceased pop, rock and hip-hop stars including: Prince, Tina Turner, Bob Marley, Kurt Cobain, Tupac Shakur, Aaliyah, Michael Jackson, Freddie Mercury, George Michael and XXXTentacion, among others. The comments on one woman's video said it all: 'This… looks like one of the drug induced psychosis that led Ozzy to rehab. Outstanding, 7/10. Could have been a 10 if they randomly added Princess Diana and someone who hasn't died yet,' as well as, 'Weekend at Bernie's vibes. Prince didn't even want his music on Spotify and changed his name to a Symbol to protect his intellectual property I'm 100% sure he wouldn't have signed off on Rod Stuart Puppeteering his face for this tacky.' Instead of blasting AI images of Ozzy in heaven, they could show this real & quite lovely picture of Rod Stewart with his arm around the actual Ozzy Osbourne.' According to the Charlotte Observer, Stewart ended last week's Ozzy AI tribute by saying, 'Very sad. A lot of those people died 'cause of drugs… I'm still here, though!' Since Osbourne's death last month tributes have been pouring in from all over, including more traditional ones from Stewart, who has been dedicating his performances of 'Forever Young' to Ozzy at his concerts in the weeks since; on July 22, on Instagram Stewart wrote, 'Bey, bye Ozzy. Sleep well, my friend. I'll see you up there — later rather than sooner.' Just a few days earlier than the Charlotte stop, during a July 26 show at the XFinity Center in Mansfield, Mass., Stewart dedicated 'Forever Young' to Ozzy, saying that 'we lost a really, true legend this week in Ozzy… I knew his family very well,' as a photo of Osbourne filled the screen. 'I'll be with you soon… but not too soon,' Stewart quipped before launching into the song as the stage screens filled with colorful, postcard-style images of his band members. At press time, spokespeople for Osbourne and Stewart had not returned Billboard's request for comment. Jack Osbourne Shares Heartbreaking Farewell Message to Dad Ozzy Osbourne: ‘My Heart Is Full of So Much Sadness'
A week after heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne was laid to rest, the singer's son Jack Osbourne has shared the grief, heartache and beautiful memories he'll keep of his famous father in a touching Instagram post. 'I haven't really wanted to post anything since the passing of my father. My heart has hurt too much. I'm gonna keep this short because he certainly hated long rambling speeches,' wrote Jack, 39, one of three children Ozzy shared with wife/manager Sharon Osbourne. 'He was so many things to so many people, but I was so lucky and blessed to be apart of a very small group that got to call him 'Dad.'' The images were cued to Ozzy's sentimental Beatles-esque ballad 'So Tired' from 1983's Bark at the Moon solo album. 'Time has come to say goodbye/ I know it's gonna make you cry/ But you belong to another, my love/And half a love that just ain't enough/ I am so tired (so tired)/ And I just can't wait around for you,' Ozzy sings over weepy strings on the tune. Osbourne died at 76 on July 22 from cardiac arrest and coronary artery disease that contribute to a heart attack. 'My heart is full of so much sadness and sorrow, but also so much love and gratitude. I got 14,501 days with that man and I know that is such a blessing,' Jack wrote before offering up a famous quote from late gonzo writer and hell-raiser Hunter S. Thompson from his book The Proud Highway: The Saga of a Desperate Southern Gentleman, 1955-1967 about living big and leaving behind a well-worn corpse: 'Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body… but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, 'Wow! What a ride!'' The clip ends with a series of photos of Ozzy smiling with his children and laughing and pulling faces with his grandchildren, as well as archival footage of him teaching a young Jack how to properly bow and say goodnight to an audience after a show. In addition to pics of Jack and his brood at Osbourne's final show, the July 5 all-star Back to the Beginning gig in the rocker's home town of Birmingham, England, Jack included the NSFW flower arrangement that was set up on Ozzy's estate for his private funeral last week that read: Ozzy F–king Osbourne. 'That was my dad. He lived and he lived his life fully,' Jack wrote. 'I love you dad.' Jack's tribute cam just days after his sister, Kelly Osbourne, thanked fans for holding her up during this hard time. 'I've sat down to write this a hundred times and still don't know if the words will ever feel like enough … but from the bottom of my heart, thank you,' Kelly wrote. 'The love, support and beautiful messages I've received from so many of you have truly helped carry me through the hardest moment of my life. Every kind word, every shared memory, every bit of compassion has meant more than I can ever explain… I will not be OK for a while — but knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference. I'm holding on tight to the love, the light and the legacy left behind.' Watch Jack's video here.
