He posted a $50,000 bond on the same day of his arrest and secured his release. 'There is no truth to these charges,' Green's attorney Drew Findling tells Billboard. 'Rod Green was a victim of a burglary and committed no crimes. How he was even charged as a result of this situation is incomprehensible. This will absolutely be resolved favorably to Mr. Green.' Billboard has reached out to reps for Rod Wave and the Milton Police Department for comment. On the music side, Green has released a pair of singles in 2025 with 'Westside Connection' and 'Sinners,' the latter of which was included on the Sinners soundtrack and played in the final credits scene of the Ryan Coogler-directed blockbuster. Rod Wave's most recent album, Last Lap, arrived in October 2024 and reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200. The project featured assists from Lil Baby, Lil Yachty, Rylo Rodriguez and more. Green was previously arrested on gun charges in April 2024. He was charged with illegal possession of a weapon or ammo in Manatee County, Fla., as police tried to tie him to a gang-related shooting at a sports bar in St. Petersburg. According to local NBC affiliate WFLA, he was later released as he had been 'detained based on inaccurate information.' The musician was also arrested in May 2022 on a felony charge of battery by strangulation, which was dropped later that month. Joe Jonas Sets the Record Straight on Whether He Inspired Aly & AJ's ‘Potential Breakup Song'
Joe Jonas and Aly & AJ are squashing all potential of 'Potential Breakup Song' being about the DNCE frontman, with the trio reuniting in a hilarious TikTok posted Tuesday (May 20). In the clip on Jonas' account, he mimes talking on the phone while singing the lyrics to the 2007 hit. 'It took too long, it took too long, it took too long for you to call back,' he says before the camera pans over to the Michalka sisters, who do the same with the next lines of the song: 'And normally I would just forget that/ Except for the fact it was my birthday.' In his caption, the Camp Rock alum wrote, 'Ok but I'd never do that on your birthday @Aly and AJ.' In the replies, Aly & AJ replied, 'And yet they STILL think it's about you.' The stars' comments refer to a yearslong theory that 'Potential Breakup Song' was written about Jonas, whom AJ dated when they were teenagers. In fact, the sisters revealed in a 2020 interview with Business Insider that the track was never 'connected to any particular person.' 'We were just like, 'Let's write a break up song,'' AJ said at the time. 'We weren't thinking it was going to be a breakup anthem, but it kind of became that, which is really cool.' Aly & AJ first met the JoBros when both groups were working with Disney, with the former starring in Disney Channel's Cow Belles and the latter — which also features Joe's brothers, Nick and Kevin — led two Camp Rock movies and a series titled Jonas on the network. On Call Her Daddy in January, AJ reflected on dating Joe for a year and a half, revealing that their first kiss was in a bowling alley. 'It was so innocent,' she said at the time. 'It was sweet.' A$AP Rocky Teases New Song at Cannes During ‘Highest 2 Lowest' Premiere
A$AP Rocky continues to tease new music ahead of dropping his highly anticipated album Don't Be Dumb. However, the song that was played as he walked down the red-carpet stairs in the rain with his pregnant partner Rihanna at the Cannes Film Festival on Monday night, when his new movie Highest 2 Lowest premiered, sounds like he's referencing the 'Yung Felon' character he's playing in the film. And while it sounds like a standard Rocky record, there's a point in the song where he's heard rapping, 'Shout-outs to my felons, boy/ We caught another felony.' He also raps something to the effect of 'I can't go to court, my baby mama child support, f— college,' as he's posing for pictures next to the actual mother of his children. Denzel also received the honorary Palme d'Or, which he was presented with by 'his brother from another mother,' Spike Lee. This will be the fifth movie Spike and Denzel have worked on together, and it will likely be their last. 'This is the fifth one we've done together,' Lee told reporters at the festival. 'It has been a blessing, this body of work between us, doing films that people love. And I think this is it. He's been talking about retirement. But five films together: that's good, they stand up.' The film is set to be released in U.S. theaters on Aug. 22 and will hit Apple TV+ on Sept. 5. Following years of rumors alleging the duo's hit song was written about AJ Michalka's teenage fling with Jonas, the 33-year-old Goldbergs star and sister Aly Michalka, 35, joined the DNCE frontman, 35, for a TikTok video set to the song — and joked about fans' theories behind the lyrics. The video features Jonas, AJ, and Aly each singing a line of the song's first verse while appearing to talk into their phones: "It took too long, it took too long, it took too long for you to call back / And normally I would just forget that / Except for the fact that it was my birthday / My stupid birthday." In the TikTok caption, Jonas joked, "Ok but I'd never do that on your birthday." Aly & AJ then commented, "And yet they STILL think it's about you." Sorry to burst any bubbles, but the "What It Feels Like" performers have already debunked the rumor "Potential Breakup Song" is about Jonas. Aly and AJ Michalka reveal why they are 'closer' now than in their Disney Channel days
Aly and AJ Michalka have become "closer as sisters" in recent years. The pop duo found fame as teenagers on Disney Channel in the mid-2000s and continue to tour together today, but AJ admitted that ever since Aly welcomed son Jack with husband Stephen Ringer in April 2024, they have been reminded of the "childlike wonder" that had dissipated in recent times. She told UsWeekly: "Aly found out she was pregnant with him the night we played the Greek [Theatre in L.A.] "There's this throughline that he's been with our band for a while and being an aunt is truly the best. I always joke, it's literally the best role I've ever booked. It's so fun. "[He's] brought us not only closer as sisters, but also brought us to a state of embracing this childlike wonder that maybe we lost a few years ago that we had when we first started making music." Meanwhile, the 'Potential Breakup Song' hitmakers have had to change their riders over the years, and AJ revealed that their must-haves these days are more to do with looking after themselves so they feel "comfortable" when showtime comes around. She said: "We try to change our rider a little bit every tour. For the most part, it's kind of always the same. I kind of feel like we actually do need a whole new makeover on it for 2025. But in general, what I go to preshow is tea. For me, it's very important to drink Throat Coat. I'm not a huge fan of the taste, but that is one specific thing that really helps me in terms of coating my vocals and feeling comfortable about warming up and getting on stage." However, Aly admitted that there is going to be some "some kid stuff" back on the rider as she prepares for Jack to join them on the road. She said: "Electrolytes, that's a big one, just so that we're keeping our energy and hydration up. You sweat everything out during the show. We now have some kid stuff that's going to be on the rider, which is funny, like, peanut butter and apples and yogurt for the little dude."
