Highest 2 Lowest, directed by Spike Lee and also starring Denzel Washington, has been receiving rave reviews and got a nearly six-minute standing ovation after its Cannes premiere. Denzel also received the honorary Palme d'Or, which he was presented with by 'his brother from another mother,' Spike Lee.
This will be the fifth movie Spike and Denzel have worked on together, and it will likely be their last. 'This is the fifth one we've done together,' Lee told reporters at the festival. 'It has been a blessing, this body of work between us, doing films that people love. And I think this is it. He's been talking about retirement. But five films together: that's good, they stand up.'
The film is set to be released in U.S. theaters on Aug. 22 and will hit Apple TV+ on Sept. 5.

Kourtney Kardashian is responding to the backlash she received after sharing a series of photos on her Instagram page. On Aug. 8, the 46-year-old mom of four took to Instagram to share a series of photos revealing some of the things she and her family did over the summer. The first photo showed Kardashian sitting on a boat with her youngest son, Rocky, who she shares with her husband Travis Barker, sitting on her lap. 'Food for the soul,' she captioned the carousel of photos. Rocky was wearing shorts and a sweater as he buried his head in his mom's chest. But what many people were quick to point out was that Rocky wasn't wearing a life jacket. 'What no life vests? Isn't that against the law….???' one commenter pointed out. As did several others. 'Shouldn't that kid be wearing a life jacket?' 'Why wouldn't you have a life jacket on the baby and yourself? Boats capsize all the time…' The following day, Kardashian took to her Instagram story to issue a statement following the backlash for not putting Rocky in a life jacket. Alongside a screenshot of a website that sells children's life jackets, Kardashian shared an 'update.' 'Bought a life vest that fits! This weekend, Kourtney Kardashian Barker took to Instagram to share a collection of moments from throughout the summer. Among them were images of her boating with her 1-year-old son, Rocky, whom she shares with husband Travis Barker. Kourtney, of course, also shares a daughter, Penelope, 13, and sons Mason, 15, and Reign, 10, with her ex Scott Disick. One image showed Kourtney sitting in the back of the boat in what appears to be a bikini with a towel wrapped around her waist. Rocky rested on her chest, wearing a simple black T-shirt and tan bottoms. "Food for the soul ✨," Kourtney wrote in the post, which included other moments of her and her family in nature, including a clip of Kourtney jumping from a cliff and into water while others were swimming below. In the comments, many viewers immediately expressed concern over Rocky not wearing a life jacket. "No life jacket???" one comment with dozens of likes read in part. "Your son needs a life jacket!" another said as a third person reminded Kourtney that it's better to be "safe than sorry." "Put a life jacket on that kid for f sakes," someone wrote, as another called their actions "very dangerous." "C'mon Kourt," one more added. "You both should be wearing on that boat should be."
