Crackdown on underage driving in Bokaro district
Bokaro: A special crackdown on underage driving was launched in Bokaro on Thursday under the direction of Chas sub-divisional officer (SDO) Pranjal Dhanda. The campaign targets minors driving two-wheelers or four-wheelers without valid licenses and overloaded auto-rickshaws transporting school children. Traffic police carried out intensive checking near schools in Sector IV, home to major institutions like DAV Public School, DPS Bokaro, Kendriya Vidyalaya, St. Mary's School, and Kairali Public School. Several minors were caught riding two-wheelers. "This drive will continue," Dhanda stated. As per traffic police reports, 14 two-wheelers were seized from underage drivers. Additionally, overloaded school autos were penalised, collecting fines amounting to Rs 18,000. SDO Dhanda said, "The campaign's goal is to ensure road safety, prevent accidents involving minors, and spread awareness across schools, coaching centres, and both urban and rural areas of the district." He added, "We have urged parents and school staff to cooperate for students' safety."

Give edu loans to good students: Bokaro DC
B okaro: Bokaro DC Ajaynath Jha on Tuesday asked banks to organise special camps to provide easy education loans to meritorious students preparing for IIT, NEET, and other exams. Addressing the district-level credit committee and district-level review committee meeting, he called upon banks to support the district's talented students, especially those from economically weaker sections. Expressing dissatisfaction with low credit ratios, the DC directed all banks to maintain at least a 40% ratio. "Banks with poor performance should better their performance in the next 45 days," he added. Priorities include Mudra loans, agricultural and housing loans, and education credit." The DC expressed dissatisfaction with the sluggish implementation of key govt schemes like PM Svanidhi, MSME loans, and SHG support. Pending applications in agriculture, housing, and MSME sectors were directed to be processed quickly. Emphasis was laid on empowering women through SHG loans and expediting Kisan Credit Cards. Chas SDO Pranjal Dhanda urged banks to promptly updtae status and attend hearings in auction-related cases.

Tight security to ensure smooth exams in Bokaro
Bokaro: The district administration has taken strict preventive measures to ensure smooth and malpractice-free conduct of the NEET (UG) examination, scheduled on Sunday. Chas SDO Pranjal Dhanda and Bermo SDO Mukesh Machhua have imposed prohibitory orders within a 500-yard radius of all NEET exam centres under their respective jurisdictions. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The restrictions include a ban on gathering of five or more persons, carrying or displaying any type of weapon including firearms, lathis, spears, or traditional arms organising rallies, meetings, or any demonstrations, and unauthorized movement or presence of individuals around the centres. Only candidates, staff, police, and judicial officers associated with the exam are permitted to be present within the restricted zone. The directive is aimed at preventing any form of interference or unfair assistance during the examination, said Vijaya Jadhav, DC, Bokaro. A total of eight examination centres have been established in Bokaro district and six of them fall under Chas subdivision. PM Shri Panchanna Rajbala Plus Two High School Satanpur, District Ramrudra CM School of Excellence Chas Bokaro, Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 Sector 4, Shri Mahavir Ji Plus Two High School Bijulia, Upgraded Government Plus Two High School Lakarkhanda, and PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 3. Under Bermo subdivision, Kendriya Vidyalaya CTPS Chandrapura and Plus Two High School Peterwar have been designated as centres.
