Veer, Mavi shine as Noida Kings, Kashi Rudras clinch victories
Lucknow: In a tense finish, Noida Kings defeated Lucknow Falcons by two wickets with just one ball to spare to bring alive the UPT20 League after two one-sided games at the start of the tournament.

, who missed his fifty by two runs but clinched the victory for his team despite losing wickets at the other end.
Batting first, Falcons upper order collapsed early but Priyam Garg's brilliant 73 runs off 42 balls set the tone. Vipraj Nigam (21) and Sameer Chaudhary (24) also helped Lucknow Falcons put up a fighting total of 165/8. For Noida Kings, Naman Tiwari took two wickets on consecutive deliveries finishing with excellent figures of 4/28.
Noida Kings had a good start by skipper Shivam Chaudhary (26) and Anivesh Chaudhary (33) and at the end of powerplay they were 68/2. Thereafter, the middle order collapsed but Prashant Veer smashed brilliant 48 (41b,3x4,2x6) to keep the team in the hunt. Jasmer Dhankhar (4) hit a boundary in the second last ball to clinch the game for his team.
Meanwhile, allrounder Shivam Mavi's brilliant performance helped Kashi Rudras taste victory in their first match.

Mavi's fifty helped Kashi stage a recovery, followed by disciplined bowling, crushing Gaur Gorakhpur Lions by 50 runs.
Kashi Rudras lost two wickets in the powerplay at 47/2, Mavi 54 (21b, 6*6) hammered fifty off just 19 balls. For the eighth wicket, Mavi and Shiva Singh made a partnership of 87 runs off just 37 balls, the duo cruising the team to a good total of 176/8.
Earlier, skipper Karan Sharma smashed 39 runs off 19 balls but was dismissed by Abdul Rehman.
In the middle overs wicket keeper Upendra Yadav and Yashovardhan Singh made a crucial partnership of 38 off 35 runs.
Gorakhpur Lions crumbled in the powerplay and Prince Yadav 49 was the lone player who put up some fight but missed his fifty by just one run. Skipper Akshdeep Nath contributed 34 runs as the team were bundled out for 126.
For Kashi Rudras, Mavi claimed 3/24 and followed by Impact player right arm medium pacer Atal Bihari Rai bagged 3/13 and Kartik Yadav took two wickets.
