Exclusive - Harleen Kaur Rekhi on playing the lead in Kaamdhenu Gaumata: It's an absolute blessing

New TV show Kaamdhenu Gaumata is all set to air from August 11. The show is being produced by Prem Sagar and Shiv Sagar, features actress Harleen Kaur Rekhi in the titular role of Kaamdhenu Devi. The actress spoke about being part of the show and said, "It's an absolute blessing. The story of Kaamdhenu Gaumata has never been told in its entirety on Indian television." "People have only seen fragments, never the full truth. What Prem Sagar sir, Ramanand Sagar sir, Shiv Ji, and Neelam ma'am are doing is remarkable. Their vision and dedication are awe-inspiring. If you look at Ramayan, it's still a benchmark even today. I truly hope our efforts, from pre-production to post-production, resonate with audiences in the same way," she added. She also confessed that working on the show deepened her spiritual beliefs. She said, "I've always been spiritual—there's a difference between being religious and being spiritual, and I connect with both." "I've been performing in Ramleela for the last 10–12 years during Navratri , so mythology has always been close to my heart. But this show took it to another level. I felt like I explored a whole new version of myself. It deepened my inner connection with the universe," she added. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Family Pictures That Will Definitely Make You Laugh Out Loud Undo She further said, "I bonded with Kapila (our Gaumata) on day one itself. Though I was always fond of Gaumata, I never had the courage to be in close proximity to cows — maybe I was just uncomfortable because I've never had pets or been around animals closely. But after spending 4–5 months on set with her, the experience transformed me. Even when my parents visited the set, I made sure they met her. She was so loving and calm. Parting away from her was painful too — she could even recognize me just by hearing my footsteps or voice. It's taken my perspective to a whole new level," Harleen ended. Suspect's life was concealed behind mask of secrecy

New Delhi: Mukesh, the 24-year-old employed at the Sewani garment shop, led a life shrouded in mystery. Despite working at the family's garment shop in Lajpat Nagar for three years, little was known about his personal life, family or background. To his employers, he seemed like a quiet, unassuming young man who mostly kept to himself. But behind the mask hid a calculating individual capable of brutal violence, said his colleagues at the garment shop. Surender Singh Bisht, who has worked at the shop for decades, described Mukesh as someone who "rarely interacted" with others. Another staff member, Prem Sagar, said Mukesh would sometimes get irritated when asked to carry out certain tasks. His father worked as a driver and his brothers were employed in various capacities. He claimed he was getting engaged and planned to get married in Nov but, according to his colleagues, this may have been a ruse to gain sympathy and some time off. Mukesh's past employment history revealed a pattern of unreliability. Ketan, a relative of the Sewani family, previously hired him but let him go due to his frequent unapproved absences. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo Despite this, Kuldeep Sewani gave Mukesh another chance, the latter's reserved demeanour betraying no sign of any dangerous behaviour. Despite treating Mukesh like a family member, the Sewanis' trust was betrayed in the most horrific manner. Mukesh worked in the godown in the building that also housed the Sewani residence, giving him easy access to the premises. Ketan said Mukesh had taken an advance from Kuldeep's wife Ruchika, claiming he urgently needed the money. She had also provided him with two mobile phones for work purposes, he added. According to Prem Sagar, "Last month, Mukesh went to his hometown in Bihar, saying he was getting engaged and would return in three-four days. But he came back after 27 days." After returning, he worked for a few days and then claimed to be unwell, saying he couldn't come to work, said Sagar. "On the day of the murder, I, along with another employee, visited his rented accommodation and made him speak to Ruchika over a video call," Sagar recalled. "She asked him about the advance and gently reminded him to either return to work or repay the money. She didn't scold him, just wanted clarity."
