Early life and education Commander Prerna Deosthalee was born in Mumbai. Career in the Indian Navy Commissioned into the Indian Navy in 2009 as an Observer in the aviation branch, Deosthalee built her career through a series of firsts. In December 2023, on Navy Day, she made history by taking command of the Waterjet FAC INS Trinkat under the Navy's Western Fleet.
