MARINA unveils tracklisting for new album Princess of Power
MARINA has unveiled the tracklisting for her forthcoming album, 'Princess of Power'. The 39-year-old singer - who previously released music as Marina and the Diamonds - will release her sixth studio on June 6, and she has now shared the names of the 13 songs that make up the follow-up to 2021's 'Ancient Dream sin a Modern Land'.They include, 'Rollercoaster', 'Metallic Stallion', 'Je Ne Sais Quoi', 'Everybody Knows I'm Sad', 'I 3 U' and 'Final Boss'. The LP opens with the title track. The singles 'Cuntissimo', 'Cupid's Girl' and 'Butterfly' just got their live debut at Coachella. MARINA recently teased that she "dove into my fear of love" on the record. She told Rolling Stone magazine: 'We are meeting a Marina who is not guarding her heart so much anymore. 'I think part of why this album has felt so freeing is that I think I've really dove into my fear of love. That's why for me, it's so powerful that this superheroine's biggest power is love. 'It can sound trite, but the ability to love is so powerful and brave. It's a courageous thing, particularly if you've been hurt in the past. It can be really hard to reprogramme yourself, and I've finally been able to do that.' And MARINA thinks 'Princess of Power' reflects more of her inner self than before. She said: 'Maybe to others, I've had a bold energy. Internally, I've always struggled to feel like I'm allowed to be my own person. The album is about teaching yourself — or re-teaching yourself — how to love.' The 'I Am Not a Robot' hitmaker had "no intention" of making a pop record when she got into the recording studio, but she couldn't be happier with what she and producer CJ Baran have created together. She said: 'I had no intention to do a pop record. But I found my creative partner CJ Baran, who is just so talented and it's just been such an enjoyable experience. 'I think that's why the energy of this record feels different: It's part of my evolution as a human being. It's a really fun record. It has a lot of energy.' MARINA's 'Princess Of Power' tracklist: 1. 'Princess Of Power' 2. 'Butterfly' 3. 'Cuntissimo' 4. 'Rollercoaster' 5. 'Cupid's Girl' 6. 'Metallic Stallion' 7. 'Je Ne Sais Quoi' 8. 'Digital Fantasy' 9. 'Everybody Knows I'm Sad' 10. 'Hello Kitty' 11. 'I 3 U' 12. 'Adult Girl' 13. 'Final Boss'

Marina Serves ‘C*ntissimo' On Latest Single
Marina Diamandis Marina Diamandis has been setting the stage for her sixth studio album Princess of Power in the lead-up to her Coachella performances over the next two weekends. She's released singles 'Butterfly' and 'Cupid's Girl" in recent months to drum up anticipation, and for her latest single 'C*ntissimo,' Marina taps into the feeling of a woman with the world—and more specifically, a desperate man—in her hands. 'Salma Hayek in the sun / Louise and Thelma on the run / Your ex is hitting you up / But you no longer give a f**k,' she sings on the track. 'Leaving that loser on read / Don't let him back in your bed / 'Cause your energy is precious / Not your fault he fell in love.' In the video for the song, she seemingly nods to her Electra Heart persona while acknowledging that that person from her 2012 album is all grown up. Opening up emotionally in this way marks another new territory for Marina after the release of her first poetry book last fall. 'We are meeting a Marina who is not guarding her heart so much anymore,' she told Rolling Stone of this new chapter. 'I think part of why this album has felt so freeing is that I think I've really dove into my fear of love. That's why for me, it's so powerful that this superheroine's biggest power is love.' 'It can sound trite, but the ability to love is so powerful and brave," she added. "It's a courageous thing, particularly if you've been hurt in the past. It can be really hard to reprogram yourself, and I've finally been able to do that.' For some fans, it might come as a surprise to see her showing her heart in this way as she's often sang from the perspective of having an upper hand over others. But that perception couldn't be further from the truth. 'Maybe to others, I've had a bold energy. Internally, I've always struggled to feel like I'm allowed to be my own person,' she confessed. 'The album is about teaching yourself—or re-teaching yourself—how to love.' Ultimately, she believes all women in pop music should be able to express themselves in new ways more than a decade into her career as she has. 'I want women to not be afraid to age. I think it's not talked about in pop. Pop pretends it's not happening. We are getting older. But I don't want to feel ashamed about it or feel like I have to cling on to youth," she stated plainly. Marina is taking the stage at Coachella this weekend on April 11 and next weekend on April 18. Princess of Power is set for release June 6.

Marina Reveals New Album, ‘Princess of Power': Why She's ‘Not Guarding Her Heart So Much'
Marina wants you to meet the Princess of Power, the love-radiating heroine of her new album. The cult-favorite pop queen has revealed full details of her sixth studio album, Princess of Power, out June 6, and released its third single, 'Cuntissimo,' ahead of her main stage Coachella performance on Friday, April 11. 'We are meeting a Marina who is not guarding her heart so much anymore,' she tells Rolling Stone. 'I think part of why this album has felt so freeing is that I think I've really dove into my fear of love. That's why for me, it's so powerful that this superheroine's biggest power is love.' It's a courageous thing, particularly if you've been hurt in the past. It can be really hard to reprogram yourself, and I've finally been able to do that.' Marina sees Princess of Power, which she recorded with producer CJ Baran, as reflecting something true about her inner self. 'Maybe to others, I've had a bold energy. Internally, I've always struggled to feel like I'm allowed to be my own person,' she says. 'The album is about teaching yourself — or re-teaching yourself — how to love.' The single she dropped along with the album announcement, 'Cuntissimo,' is an anthemic pop song inspired by glamorous, brave, confident women 'who enjoy life to the max.' As she says this, Marina scrolls through a list of queens who embody 'Cuntissimo' on her phone — Elizabeth Taylor, Sophia Loren, Madonna, and Rihanna among them. 'That's really key: pleasure,' Marina says. 'Throughout the centuries, it's been denied us that freedom to be silly and messy. Women have been under such a strict patriarchal power for so long, but this is just like, 'Fuck you.'' She pauses before adding: 'I want women to not be afraid to age. I think it's not talked about in pop. Pop pretends it's not happening. We are getting older. But I don't want to feel ashamed about it or feel like I have to cling on to youth.' In some ways, the song recalls themes from her first album, 2010's Family Jewels, on which she sang about how 'girls are not meant to fight dirty/Never look a day past 30.' (The song's video drops Friday morning.) On Friday night, Marina will debut 'Cuntissimo' live during her Coachella set, 10 years after she last played the fest in 2015. She'll perform her three Princess of Power singles and play some fan-favorite deep cuts — 'Are You Satisfied' and 'Oh No!' among them. But ultimately, 'People want bangers,' she says. 'I want to give that energy.' Stylistically, the set will reflect the pastels — teals, pinks, baby yellows — that accompany her new album's aesthetic, as seen on its corset-and-ribbon-adorned album cover, continuing on the album's themes of female power and fearless love. 'I had no intention to do a pop record. But I found my creative partner CJ Baran who is just so talented and it's just been such an enjoyable experience,' she says.
