Chennithala leads walkathon against drugs
There is a need to free those addicted to drugs and guide them towards creative and constructive activities, K.C. Venugopal, MP, has said. He was speaking after flagging off the sixth edition of Proud Kerala's Walk Against Drugs, a walkathon led by Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala on the Alappuzha beach on Sunday. Mr. Venugopal called for steps to make college campuses and schools drug-free. All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Deepa Dasmunshi delivered an anti-drug message.

Community march against drug abuse
: On June 26, International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Proud Kerala will organize a community march in Kollam against drug menace. The initiative, led by Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala, aims to unite people from all walks of life to create a public resistance against the growing drug use among youth. Proud Kerala chairman Malayinkeezhu Venugopal said that students, youth, volunteers, representatives of anti-alcohol and anti-drug organisations and cultural and political leaders will participate in the campaign.
