Historic Greenbrier Farms in Chesapeake announces closure for most public events

CHESAPEAKE — Historic Greenbrier Farms in Chesapeake announced Thursday that it's immediately closing most of its operations to the public except for some seasonal events. 'It is with sincere regret that we announce Greenbrier Farms will be closed to the public outside of our traditional Christmas, Strawberry, and Pumpkin seasons, effective immediately,' the farm said in a Facebook post on Thursday. 'This difficult decision comes as a result of increasing operational restrictions and pressure from the City of Chesapeake Permitting and Zoning as well as the Chesapeake Health Department.' When reached Thursday afternoon, a Chesapeake city spokesperson was not immediately able to comment. A representative for the farm could not be reached Thursday. According to the Facebook post, the farm will also no longer be open to the public for visits to the playground, barnyard animals, or to walk the grounds. The more than century old historic farm, located just off the Chesapeake Expressway, spans 500 acres and hosts a variety of special events, including weddings. The farm drew a crowd of thousands when it hosted a rally for President Donald Trump last summer. This is a breaking news report. Please check back for updates.

Alana 'Honey Boo Boo' Thompson reveals reality TV earnings and financial struggles

Alana Thompson, better known as "Honey Boo Boo," recently spoke out about her reality TV earnings and financial difficulties. Despite her long-running presence on shows like Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, Toddlers & Tiaras, and Dancing with the Stars Juniors, Alana revealed in an interview with People that she has never seen the money she earned from her initial TV success. Alana stated, "I have never, ever received the Here Comes Honey Boo Boo money. I don't know what happened to it." She also accused her mother, Mama June Shannon, of taking $35,000 of her earnings from Dancing with the Stars Juniors in 2018. Although June reportedly returned the money, Alana claims she never received an apology. The issue of Alana's earnings has been a major storyline on Mama June: Family Crisis, where the family drama surrounding the money continues to unfold. Alana mentioned she considered suing her mother but hesitated because 'by law, she did what was right,' explaining that 20% of her earnings were placed in a Coogan account—a trust designed to protect minors' earnings. Alana is currently working on a Lifetime film, I Was Honey Boo Boo, which she says has helped her pay for college. Since her sister Pumpkin gained custody in 2022, Pumpkin has set up a Coogan account for her, though Alana has yet to access the funds, preferring to save them for future needs. Fans can watch I Was Honey Boo Boo to learn more about her rise to fame and ongoing journey.

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A montage video of a cat performing his "nosy" neighborly duties left Instagram users cracking up. As naturally curious animals, cats enjoy knowing everything that is happening within their surroundings. This curiosity stems from felines' long history of being hunters, an article from PangoVet stated. To be successful in the wild, cats needed to be constantly on the lookout for predators and prey, relying on their senses to pick up clues about their environment, which has carried over to the life of a house cat now. Owners might see them inspecting the grocery bags as soon as you walk inside, or perhaps your cats constantly look out the window into the neighborhood. But one orange cat took it a step further by actively looking into the neighbor's yard daily. The owner shared in an April 27 Instagram video under the account @ a montage of all the times Pumpkin dedicates his time to his favorite hobby: sneaking a peek at the neighbor's yard. Pumpkin uses two methods to perform his neighborhood watch. To get an aerial view, he'll hang from the top of the fence with his front paws clinging for life. Other times, he'll stay on the ground and use peepholes or slits in the fence boards to look into the neighbor's yard. Pumpkin's sole focus is on one neighbor—a cat. The owner told Newsweek via Instagram that Pumpkin is "obsessed" with the neighbor's cat. He'll spend all day watching her every move. But unfortunately, the fascination is not mutual. "She hates him," the owner said. "But she doesn't like other cats." He still goes outside to keep tabs on her. The caption reads: "Forever spying." As of Wednesday, the Instagram video amassed over 3 million views, and people couldn't get over Pumpkin's dedication. Many defended his stalking habits. "God forbid he surveys his territory," commented one viewer. Another added: "He takes his job seriously. I can't get over him hanging on the fence!" A third person demanded: "Now drill 500 peepholes in the fence." The owner responded: "...The fence panel with his favourite spying spot broke, so the neighbours replaced the panel. I'm going to have to definitely make some holes for him to continue his obsession with their cat." Do you have funny and adorable videos or pictures of your pet you want to share?
