Man killed and buried over previous enmity; three arrested
In a case stemming from an old rivalry, police have arrested four individuals on Monday in connection with a murder and burial of a daily wage worker near Devakottai. S. Venkatesh, 28, a daily wage worker from Amaravathipudur near Karaikudi, had a dispute with Pushparaj, 29, from the same area during the Pongal festival in 2023. On Sunday night, Pushparaj was drinking with some of his friends near the Thanavayal lake. They called Venkatesh to join them for a drink. As Venkatesh joined them, due to their past enmity, Pushparaj and his friends stabbed Venkatesh to death and buried his body in the same area and escaped. On Sunday night, Pushparaj and Manoj, 23, surrendered at the Aravayal police station. On Monday, in the presence of the Tahsildar, police exhumed Venkatesh's body from where it was buried and sent it to the Sivaganga Government Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The Aravayal police have filed a case against seven people: Pushparaj, Vignesh, Srinivasan from Aravayal, Manoj from Kandanur, Muruganandam from Nagavayal, Athiyan from Kottayur, and Sanjay from Puduvayal. So far, Pushparaj, Manoj, Vignesh, and Srinivasan have been arrested. The police are in search of other three suspects who are absconding.

Man accused of raping French tourist arrested, claims was honey-trapped
JAIPUR: In a major twist, the man who allegedly raped a French tourist on Monday has claimed that far from being a rapist, he was himself a victim of a Honey trap. The 29‑year‑old man was arrested for allegedly raping the French tourist who came to Udaipur for an advertisement shoot. The accused, identified as Pushparaj alias Siddharth Ojha, a resident of Gangrar in Chittorgarh, is the owner of a casting company and has worked on films, music videos, and television serials for the past eight years. According to the police, he has also done casting for Bollywood stars like Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar. Udaipur Superintendent of Police (SP) Yogesh Goyal said that Pushparaj's company had hired the woman for a mobile advertisement shoot, which took place on June 22 across various locations in the city, including Lake Pichola, Sajjangarh Fort, and nearby restaurants. After the shooting, the team went to a café near Tiger Hill for a party. Later, Pushparaj allegedly lured the woman to his flat in Sukher on the pretext of smoking and raped her.

Casting agent arrested for raping French woman who came to Udaipur for ad shoot
UDIPUR: A 29-year-old man was arrested from Chittorgarh for allegedly raping a French woman who had come to Udaipur for an advertisement shoot, officials said on Wednesday. The accused, identified as Pushparaj alias Siddharth Ojha, a resident of Gangrar in Chittorgarh, owns a casting company and has worked on films, music videos and television serials, police officials said, adding that he has been living in Udaipur for the past eight years. Pushparaj's company hired the woman for a mobile advertisement shoot, which took place on June 22 at various locations in Udaipur, including Lake Pichola, Sajjangarh Fort and local restaurants, Udaipur SP Yogesh Goyal said. Following the shoot, the crew allegedly held a party at a cafe near Tiger Hill. After the party, Pushparaj took the woman to his flat in Sukher under the pretext of smoking and allegedly sexually assaulted her there. Pushparaj confessed to the crime during questioning, the police claimed. Meanwhile, some local Congress workers, led by city Congress president Fateh Singh Rathore, allegedly confronted Pushparaj as the police brought him in for questioning. Some even allegedly attempted to assault him, pulling at his arms while he was being taken to the SP office. Additional SP Umesh Ojha and DSP Kailash Chandra intervened to calm the situation and disperse the crowd. It also became one of the trending movies on Netflix after its digital debut. Now, it is going to make its TV premiere in Hindi.
