MoCI reopens car company after implementing comprehensive corrective measures
DOHA: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has announced the reopening of Al Jaidah Automotive Company after the company implemented a comprehensive set of corrective measures that met the ministry's requirements. This followed a temporary administrative closure imposed due to violations related to the unavailability of spare parts and delayed after-sales services. In a statement, the ministry explained that the company took the initiative to implement a series of corrective measures, which included resolving all complaints related to customer service and spare parts, as well as enhancing its spare parts inventory through urgent orders worth QR1.6 million. These steps aim to reduce waiting times and improve service quality. The statement added that the company increased the pace of supply from the manufacturer and modified its internal escalation mechanism to ensure that any delay exceeding five days is addressed. Additionally, the company has committed to paying the imposed fines, which amounted to QR180,000. The MoCI affirmed that the company's actions reflect its commitment to rectifying its situation and responding to the Ministry's directives, contributing to an improved standard of after-sales services and reinforcing consumer confidence in the local market. The statement emphasized the Ministry's continued oversight and inspection efforts to ensure that all commercial establishments comply with the provisions of Law No. (8) of 2008 on Consumer Protection. It urged all citizens and residents to report any violations or misconduct via the Ministry's call center at 16001 or through its official social media channels. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued Administrative Decision No. (18/2025) on Aug. 3, closing the company for 30 days, after recording 29 repeated violations of the same nature, in addition to a number of complaints submitted by consumers. These actions constituted a breach of Article (16) of Law No. (8) of 2008 and its executive regulations.
