Qubo Dashcam Pro 2.7K Front review: Drive smarter, record clearer
Rating: 3.5/5 Road accidents or challans (fines) in India are always tough. No one wants to take the blame, and you often end up arguing on the road, wasting time and causing traffic jams. It used to be really hard to prove you weren't at fault. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now But now, with good quality dashcams becoming affordable, it's much easier to show what actually happened. Priced at Rs 6,490, the Qubo Dashcam Pro 2.7K is one such great choice if you want a dashcam that records clear, high-quality video without costing too much. Its main goal is to record everything on the road with amazing clarity, so you literally don't miss a single detail. This means you'll have solid proof if anything ever happens! We drove with the Qubo Dashcam Pro for about three weeks and here's our take on whether it's a right choice for you. Design Qubo's offering sports a compact design with a camera lens and a 2-inch LCD display. At the heart of its performance is a 5MP camera capable of recording in 2.7K QHD+ resolution. Setting it up was an easy process. Designed for consistent performance across diverse conditions, According to Qubo, the dashcam incorporates a Super Capacitor for operation in varying weather. It is USB Powered for easy connectivity. In the box, you also get an adjustable and detachable mount which can be secured firmly with a strong 3M tape supplied in the box. It must be noted that once secured, the 3M tape provides a very strong bond, making removal a considerable effort. Therefore, we recommend carefully determining your desired placement on the windshield before application. The microSD card is not included and you have to purchase it separately. Qubo has provided a list of cards (up to 1TB) that you can use and ones that you cannot. Performance The Qubo Dashcam Pro 2.7K sports a 5MP camera that records in about 2.5 times the Full-HD resolution. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now This essentially means that we got sharper images and greater detail, essential for capturing crucial elements like number plates. The camera has a 140-degree field of view (FOV) which means that we could record traffic on wide expressways such as Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and Delhi-Noida-Direct Flyway. There are three ways to use the dashcam. Continuous Recording: Starts automatically with your car for uninterrupted coverage. Starts automatically with your car for uninterrupted coverage. Loop Recording: A mode that manages storage by overwriting the oldest footage when the SD card reaches its limit A mode that manages storage by overwriting the oldest footage when the SD card reaches its limit Emergency Recording function: This mode specifically works for critical incidents and takes help of a G-Sensor that automatically secures footage in a protected folder upon detecting a jolt, preventing it from being overwritten. The Qubo Dashcam Pro 2.7K also gets High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology which means it works fine in most situations, even at night time. Overall, the dashcam demonstrated strong performance in real-world driving conditions. However, the dashcam did encounter some challenges in specific scenarios. For instance, when an oncoming car approached with high beams, the clarity of the recording was temporarily compromised as the intense light flashed directly into the lens. Similarly, during rainy conditions, water droplets on the windshield could obstruct the view, affecting the overall clarity of the footage. Hence, you must pick the placement of the dashcam carefully. Monitoring the recordings is also easy with the built-in 2-inch IPS LCD Display, which allows real-time viewing. The dashcam integrates with the Qubo Pro App , providing instant access to recordings, video logs and downloaded media. Verdict Beyond recording, the Qubo Dashcam Pro 2.7K offers significant practical advantages such as avoiding accident blame games, challenging incorrect challans, fast-tracking insurance claims and providing proof against road rage incidents. At a price of Rs 6,490, Qubo Dashcam Pro 2.7K presents a compelling package for drivers prioritising high-resolution video quality, comprehensive recording features, user-friendly connectivity, and robust reliability, all while maintaining an accessible price point.
