Jais detains six over deviant 'semi-naked dancing' event
SHAH ALAM: The Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) has detained six individuals in connection with the controversial eHati marriage motivation programme held from Sept 27-30 last year at a convention centre here. JAIS director Datuk Mohd Shahzihan Ahmad said the suspects, two men and four women aged between 26 and 47, were picked up in Shah Alam on July 18. He said investigations were opened under Sections 7 (false doctrine), 8 (false claims), 10 (insulting Islam) and 16 (unauthorised religious publications) of the Syariah Criminal Offences (Selangor) Enactment 1995. "The investigation was launched following suspicions that a ritual or ceremony contrary to Islamic teachings was held during the programme,' he said in a statement on Thursday (July 24). To date, JAIS has recorded statements from 38 witnesses and identified 282 participants whose statements will also be taken. Three books and three VCDs seized from the event have been submitted to the Selangor Mufti Department for review. He said a comprehensive investigation into the programme's full content and module is ongoing, and findings will be submitted to the Selangor Syariah Prosecution Department for further action. On July 16, Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed reports of nude scenes involving four women during a segment called 'Queens Night'. That same day, six individuals, including the husband-and-wife founders of the programme and their child, were remanded for three days to assist in a separate investigation into indecent behaviour and minor offences.- Bernama

[UPDATED] Police confirm nudity at marriage motivation programme
SHAH ALAM: Police have confirmed that nudity occurred during the recent eHati marriage motivation programme. Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said four facilitators were involved in a "rebirth" ritual during the event where they were naked. "Based on our investigations, participants were charged between RM6,000 and RM9,000 for two separate packages. "Those who paid for the RM9,000 package were granted access to a 'Queens Night' scene where nudity was involved," he told reporters today. He said investigations revealed that participants included professionals and civil servants. "The participants came from all over the country. One of them was traced and caught in Kedah. "Based on our checks, the event was not religious or Islamic in nature but based more on motivation," he said, adding that participants from different religions were also involved as it aimed to help them rediscover happiness. He said these programmes had been conducted in the past but police believed this was the first time the "Queens Night" ritual was performed. "We have gathered various liquid samples from the event for further analysis by the Chemistry Department to identify if they were laced with drugs or prohibited substances. "We have a list of the 50 people, including participants, who attended the event. "To date, we have already recorded statements from 30 of them, including the organisers and facilitators. "Those who have yet to come forward should do so immediately," he said, adding that stern action would be taken, including making arrests. It was reported that eHati International Sdn Bhd founders Diyana Tahir and Rahim Shukor, along with four others, have been remanded for three days. The remand order was issued by magistrate Ameera Mastura Khamis after the four women and two men, aged 26 to 57, were brought before the Shah Alam Magistrate's Court. They are being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code for insulting the modesty of a person, Section 294 of the Penal Code for indecent behaviour, and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act. Lawyer Datuk M. Reza Hassan, who is representing four of the six, including the couple and their child, said he has filed an application to review the decision to allow a three-day remand. Yesterday, it was reported that Diyana and Rahim were detained after giving their statements at the Petaling Jaya police headquarters. The couple have denied allegations of spiked drinks and deviant practices at one of their recent events. They also said they have lodged a police report and a report with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission over the claims.

Amidst an ongoing investigation, police have confirmed today (16 July) that the programme did indeed feature an activity involving nudity, Free Malaysia Today According to Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan, the activities involving nudity occurred on the last day of the event, which ran from 27 to 30 September, 2024, during the 'Queens Night' portion. READ MORE: The programme's founders were arrested by police Following the allegations, police arrested eHati founders Diyana Tahir and her husband Rahim Shukor yesterday (15 July) under Sections 294 and 509 of the Penal Code pertaining to obscene acts or words in public and insults to modesty respectively. Their arrest was also made under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955 (Act 336) which pertains to insulting behaviour. The duo's home was also raided by the police after they had given their statements at police headquarters. Diyana and Rahim issued a joint statement denying the allegations In a statement published on Facebook on 15 July, the eHati founders said their programmes are safe spaces for women and denied deviant teachings and alleged 'spiked drinks' at their event in Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC) in Shah Alam last year. They explained that they are certified practitioners in hypnotherapy, and that all of their company programmes follow the ethical standards of local values and cultures. According to their website, eHati's programme modules include sessions on breathwork, Trauma Release Exercise, and hypnotherapy to help participants achieve inner and mental calmness. READ MORE: The controversy was sparked by a Facebook user An individual Masyitah Ashari shared on Facebook about eHati's programme at IDCC last year conducting lewd activities including a female speaker stripping off her bikini and dancing with members of the programme, which led to other participants also stripping down and joining the dance. She also claimed there was a drink called 'Piya' being given to participants, which was allegedly spiked with a hallucinogenic substance to discard inhibitions. Masyitah has been actively criticising eHati and its programmes on Facebook, calling them out for conducting lewd activities and deviant practices that go against the teachings of Islam. Police confirm nudity at E-Hati motivational programme in Shah Alam
SHAH ALAM: Police have verified that four individuals performed a nude and lewd act during a segment of the 'Queens Night' event, part of a family motivational programme organised by E-Hati last year. Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan stated the incident occurred under Package B, priced at RM9,000, which included exclusive activities for female participants. The controversial scene, termed 'rebirth,' was intended as a motivational exercise. Hussein clarified that the programme, titled 'Finding Happiness Again,' was not religiously themed and involved participants from various backgrounds. Authorities have recorded statements from 30 individuals, including organisers and attendees, while urging remaining participants to cooperate. Investigations are ongoing under Section 294 of the Penal Code for obscene acts, Section 509 for insulting modesty, and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955. SHAH ALAM : Police have confirmed that the controversial eHati marriage motivation programme held last year featured an activity involving nudity. Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said the nudity-related acts took place during the 'Queens Night' segment on the final day of the programme, held from Sept 27 to 30, 2024. 'There were two packages offered as part of the programme – Package A, priced at about RM6,000, and Package B, at about RM9,000, which included the Queens Night,' he told a press conference at the state police headquarters here today. This follows claims by a Facebook user alleging that a female speaker, initially dressed in a bikini, had stripped naked and danced with participants during the event's final night. They allegedly encouraged participants to follow suit, and remove their clothes after giving them a 'mysterious' drink. Hussein urged those involved in the programme to come forward and give their statements. He said six people have been arrested so far, comprising four women and two men, including two married couples. Police also seized several items, including liquids, as part of their investigation. Statements have also been recorded from 30 people, including the event's organisers and participants. Yesterday, police arrested Diyana Tahir and Rahim Shukor, the founders of eHati International Sdn Bhd, and raided their home after they gave their statements at the police headquarters. The couple previously denied promoting obscene acts and insulting behaviour in their eHati marriage motivation programme, saying the activities were aligned with Islamic values. Police are investigating the programme under criminal laws covering obscene acts, modesty, and public decency.
