Police interact with tourists, enquires about facilities in Masula Beach Festival
The Krishna police, who have arranged elaborate bandobust for the ongoing Masula Beach Festival, sought the opinion of tourists about the security along the Manginapudi beach on Saturday. Police personnel patrolling on and off the shore were seen alerting tourists from entering the deeper parts of the the sea. Superintendent of Police R. Gangadhar Rao visited the beach and enquired with tourists from different places about the facilities and security provided for them. The SP directed the Marine police, swimmers, Fire and the SDRF personnel to take all measures to prevent drowning. The swimmers explained to him that boats, life jackets, ropes, dragon lights and other life saving equipment have been readied. Mr. Gangadhar Rao said public addressing systems have been arranged and drones and CCTV cameras were being used to prevent crime during the beach festival. 'Tight security has been arranged on the beach and enroute Manginapudi beach from Machilipatnam, particularly at night, and at the parking places' the police officers said. 'Instructions have been given to conduct foot and vehicle patrolling on the beach. Security has been stepped up at the bus and railway stations and at other public places across Machilipatnam,' the SP added. Meanwhile, the SDRF and the Marine police have enhanced security on the beach as more tourists are expected to attend Masula Beach Festival on the last day on Sunday, the police said.

Masula Beach festival begins today
All arrangements are in place for the four-day Machilipatnam Beach Festival, starting today at the Manginapudi beach in Krishna district. District Collector D.K. Balaji and Superintendent of Police R. Gangadhar Rao visited the venue on Wednesday to inspect and review the arrangements made for water games and sports, including beach Kabaddi, volleyball, and kayaking. They also inspected the various structures, including the 80-foot Amaravati Mukha Dwaram, erected on the beach for the occasion. The festival will begin in the morning, and sports and games will take place in the afternoon, the Collector said. Medical camps have been set up with necessary medicines; an ambulance and fire engine have been kept on standby. The highlight of the festival is the national-level kayaking games, which are being held for the first time at the beach festival. In this event, 25 teams from 25 States are participating. Additionally, 20 national teams will compete in the beach kabaddi event, and 12 teams will compete in the State-level volleyball competition.

Security stepped up for four-day Masula Beach festival
Superintendent of Police R. Gangadhar Rao has directed the police to ensure tight security is in place at Manginapudi Beach during the four-day Masula Beach Festival, which will be celebrated from June 5 to 8. While reviewing the security on Monday, the SP stressed the need to ramp up security at the helipad and the VIP lounges to prevent any untoward incidents. He announced that traffic diversions would be put in place for the coming days to ease congestion and ensure a smooth experience for tourists. The SP briefed Excise Minister Kollu Ravindra about the security measures being put in place, with the anticipation of many VIP visitors. 'The security arrangements include the setting up of watch towers at the beach, which will be manned by the police. Expert swimmers are being deployed along the seashore as a precautionary measure, and sign boards are being erected warning tourists about the deep waters and restricted areas,' the SP said. He added that police will monitor the situation round-the-clock through drones and CCTVs set up along the shore. Public address systems will caution tourists and prevent them from entering the deep waters and isolated places. The SP directed the police to conduct regular patrolling along the coast and to take all necessary steps to ensure the beach festival is incident-free.

Use drones to keep vigil on vulnerable places, Krishna SP tells personnel
Krishna district Superintendent of Police R. Gangadhar Rao has directed the police officers to use drones to keep a vigil on vulnerable places as part of measure to check crimes in the district. The SP conducted a review on pending cases, cybercrimes, crime against women, drone beats, status of complaints received through Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS), and other aspects in Krishna district on Friday. He asked the Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) of Avanigadda, Machilipatnam, Gannavaram and Gudivada to implement drone beats and keep a tab on abandoned places and vulnerable places to check gambling, ganja and liquor consumption. He directed the Station House Officers (SHOs) to give priority to the complaints received in PGRS and render justice to the public. Police personnel should enlighten the public against cyber offences and solve the cybercrime cases at the earliest, he said. 'The SIs and constables should verify the movements of rowdy and suspect sheets and other criminals in each mandal to prevent crimes in villages,' he added. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP-Administration) V.V. Naidu, ASP Armed Reserve B. Satyanarayana and officers of all police sub-divisions in Krishna district attended the meeting.

Security stepped up along coast, Marine Police asked to check movement of strangers
The Marine Police have stepped up security along the coast in the State, particularly in the coastal villages, in the wake of 'Operation Sindoor'. More than 500 fishermen villages exist along the 974-kilometre coastline of A.P. After the 26/11 terrorist attack, security has been tightened along the sea coast. The Government set up 21 Marine Police Stations to monitor the vigil on and off the shore, in coordination with the Navy and Coast Guard personnel. 'Instructions have been given to the Marine Police to visit the fishermen villages, interact with the locals, enquire about the movement of strangers, if any,' said a police officer. The Marine Police were tasked to gather information on sighting of strangers along the coast and alert the intelligence and the district police concerned, the officer said. 'We are doing drone patrolling on and off the shore. The Marine Police were directed to scan the islands and the island villages with drones,' an officer attached to a Marine Police Station said. Speaking to The Hindu on Thursday, Krishna district Superintendent of Police R. Gangadhar Rao said the Marine Police were doing joint patrolling with the law and order police. 'Vigil has been stepped up along the coast in Krishna district,' he said. Meanwhile, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Police, Medical and Health, Bharat Scouts and Guides, NCC, Revenue and other departments are conducting mock drills to sensitise the people on the situation. Mock drills were conducted at Ganapavaram, Unguturu, Chintalapudi and Nidamarru in Eluru district, and at Tallayapalem villages in Krishna district.
