Exsim Hospitality unit bags RM46mil contract for renovation of Port Dickson hotel

KUALA LUMPUR, May 30 (Bernama) -- EXSIM Hospitality Bhd's unit, EXSIM Concepto Sdn Bhd, has secured a contract worth RM46 million from TotalBuildz Sdn Bhd for the renovation, refurbishment, and interior fit-out works for an 11-storey hotel in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan. The company said the commencement date is today, and the contract works are to be completed within 12 months from the start date. "All works must be completed on or before May 29, 2026, or within such extended period as provided under the terms of the contract. The defect liability period shall be 27 months from the date of completion," it said in a stock exchange filing. -- BERNAMA

The latest donations were presented at the state Police Senior Officers' Mess by Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain and his wife, Puan Sri Zainah Othman, chairperson of the Police Family Association, yesterday. Family members, including the widows of the FRU personnel involved, accepted the donations on their behalf, Bernama reported. Among the contributors were the Perak and Johor police contingents, Koperasi Polis Diraja Malaysia, Yayasan Insan Sakan, the Malaysian Islamic Economic Development Foundation, Lumut Maritime Terminal Sdn Bhd and Enforcement, and Leadership and Management University. Razarudin said the donations collected enabled the families or next of kin of the personnel who were killed to receive cash aid totalling more than RM46,000, while injured personnel received over RM11,000. 'The widows or next of kin have each received a compassionate contribution of RM25,000 from the National Heroes and Defence Trust Fund, which was credited on May 23,' Razarudin said. 'Hopefully, this will help ease the burden of the bereaved families and injured personnel,' he added. Also present at the event was state police chief Comm Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin. In the incident that occurred at 8.50am on May 13, an FRU lorry carrying 18 personnel from Unit 5, based in Sungai Senam here, was involved in a tragic collision with a gravel-laden lorry while returning from an assignment in Teluk Intan. The accident claimed the lives of nine FRU personnel while the remaining nine were injured.
