The race to ROSÉ's new song is over, with the BLACKPINK star unveiling 'Messy' for the F1 soundtrack, along with an accompanying music video, on Thursday (May 8). In the sleek visual, the New Zealand-born performer walks through various nighttime cityscapes, strutting down a glistening street past a crowd of people and leaning over the terrace of a high-rise building in between shots of footage from the F1 movie. 'Baby, let's get messy, let's get all the way undone/ Come over and chase me like I've never been touched,' she belts over piano and anthemic percussion, sitting on the floor of a blue-lit room as confetti rains down on her. 'Baby, I'm obsessed with you, and there's no replica/ If it's messy, then you know it's really love.' 'What impact?' Fans troll BLACKPINK's Lisa and ROSÉ after their inclusion in 2025 Gold House A100 list
The 2025 edition of the Gold House A100 List, a prestigious honour recognizing the 100 most impactful Asian Pacific leaders across various industries, has included BLACKPINK stars Lisa and ROSÉ. The list celebrates influential figures in entertainment, fashion, business, social impact, and sports. Lisa (Lalisa Manobal), the 28-year-old Thai singer, was honored not only for her global musical influence but also for her acting debut as Mook in the third season of The White Lotus. Her bandmate ROSÉ was also named to the list, alongside her APT. collaborator Bruno Mars. But what impact? Shortly after the announcement, many K-pop fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to question the basis of the recognition. Several pointed out that Lisa's most popular songs are collaborations with Western artists, while ROSÉ's only trending track is also tied to her collaboration with Bruno Mars. Many argued that their solo releases—without any featured artists—have not made significant chart impact. Interestingly, while ROSÉ escaped much of the backlash, Lisa faced the brunt of the criticism. Some users speculated that her accolades were less about merit and more influenced by her alleged relationship with Frédéric Arnault, a member of the LVMH family. Fans react One user commented, "She has an impact to make whoever collabs with her flop." she has an impact to make whoever collab with her flopped Another said, "What did she do? LOL, people only know her because of Bruno." what she did? lol people knows her thanks to bruno 😂😂😂 One wrote, "Genuinely curious—what kind of impact has she made??" Genuinely curious to what kind of impact she has made ?? Another shared a photo of Frédéric Arnault, captioned, "We already know how." We already know how One added, "She should thank her billionaire boyfriend for that." She should thank her billionaire boyfriend for that Other artists on the list The 2025 A100 honorees will be celebrated throughout the month of May, with festivities culminating at the Gold Gala in Los Angeles on the 10th. This year's list also features notable names such as Squid Game stars Lee Byung-hun and Lee Jung-jae, and director Hwang Dong-hyuk. K-pop groups SEVENTEEN and aespa join the ranks, along with global music acts like Charli XCX, Laufey, and Tyla. BLACKPINK's ROSÉ surprises fans with a duet performance of 'APT.' with Coldplay in South Korea
BLACKPINK's ROSÉ delighted fans with an unexpected appearance during Coldplay's concert in Seoul, South Korea, on Tuesday 22 April, performing her viral hit with Bruno Mars, 'APT.' live for thousands at Goyang Stadium. The BLACKPINK member joined the British rock band on stage during the fourth night of their Music of the Spheres Tour. In a video shared by both ROSÉ and Coldplay, the singer can be seen strutting confidently down the stage runway in a shimmering silver jacket, leading the crowd in singing the catchy lyrics of her chart-topping solo. The energy soared even higher when frontman Chris Martin took over the second verse, usually performed by Bruno Mars, rapping, 'It's whatever, it's whatever, it's whatever you like. Turn this 'apt' into a club,' as ROSÉ beamed beside him. Originally released in October, 'APT.' became a global success for ROSÉ, earning her a No. 3 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and dominating the Billboard Global 200 for 12 weeks. It appears on her debut solo album Rosie, launched during BLACKPINK's group hiatus. The Seoul concert was part of a six-night run at Goyang Stadium. Girl group TWICE opened Coldplay's shows in Korea and even collaborated with the band on a new version of 'We Pray,' which they performed together on 16 April and later released officially. Coldplay has welcomed several high-profile guests during their Asia tour, including BTS's JIN and singer Elyanna. Footage of ROSÉ and Coldplay's electrifying duet performance has since been shared widely by fans online.
