RTE Fair City star Gerard Jordan welcomes eighth child into world as he opens up on ‘difficulties' of having big family
RTE Fair City star Gerard Jordan has welcomed his eighth child into the world. The 34-year-old, who's best known for his role as Steo Nash in the hit soap, met his partner Jo 11 years ago and the pair both shared a dream of having a big family. The kind of place where there is always laughing or someone needing a snack or needing something.' The actor became a dad at just 25-years-old and said while it seems "young", he felt "very mature" and knew it was something himself and Jo both wanted. The pair now have eight children; Jasper, 10, Hugo, nine, River, seven, Sage, five, Saint, three, Zen, two, Enzo, one, and Halo, who is just 12 weeks old. The family-of-ten lives in the Liberties, Dublin. Advertisement read more on fair city As well as Gerard's glitzy showbiz job, he works for a company that sells credit card terminals. He explained: "I'm not back [in Fair City] until August so it's a big gap. You have to have something else going on because otherwise you would run out of money very quickly with eight kids." Gerard spoke about how himself and his partner make sure to budget "perfectly" for their big family by forward planning. He said: 'There's a lot of mouths to feed. There's a lot of outgoings with kids… with certain trips with school, and things that bubble up. So you have to have an 'emergency fund' packed away and ready to go." He said: "You have to pay the bills and unfortunately with the acting stuff, it pays the bills when it's good, but when it's bad, you could be out of work for a year or six months… so I had to do something else." And I told her, [and] she went, 'What! I have two. I couldn't imagine eight'. 'And then [other times] when we go out shopping, people would go, 'Are all these yours?'. Gerard said that the "initial" reaction for strangers is shock but once it wears off they remark that it's a "good thing" and that "it's really nice" to have a big family. He added: "If you are going to have a big family, you have to circle your life around the children. ‘Devastated is an understatement', cry RTE Fair City viewers as ‘horrible' character returns to Carrigstown
RTE Fair City viewers were all left saying the same thing after one character returned to the show tonight. On tonight's episode, Liam made his triumphant return and instantly started causing tension in Carrigstown. And Jacinta was not impressed when Renee asked Liam for help with their next fundraiser. Later, Melanie was left unsettled after she learned Dearbhla was returning. And Liam rubbed Renee up the wrong way with his interference, but Nora welcomed him into the fold. Jess forced Melanie to admit to her that she had slept with Gar, after discovering that he is Melanie's new beau. Later, Zoe was irked when Paul didn't stand up for her to Steo and left him panicking when she questions why he's taking outrageous behaviour from Steo. Paul managed to appease Zoe for the time being, and was relieved when J.J. takes his side regarding Zoe and told Steo off. Finally, J.J. kept Paul sweet to get the last of his money laundered through Vinos, which lead Zoe to accidently discover that Paul is doing dodgy dealings with J.J. Advertisement
