RUHS hosp performs first angioplasty procedure, expands advanced cardiac services
Jaipur: RUHS Hospital conducted its first angioplasty procedure Saturday on a 67-year-old patient from Peepalu, Tonk district. The patient, who was suffering from cardiac issues, underwent an angiography test that revealed blockages, leading to the decision of angioplasty.
The procedure was successfully completed. The patient is showing positive recovery signs, and the treatment was provided without cost under the Mukhyamantri Ayushman Arogya (MAA) Scheme, said a hospital official.
Medical education secretary Ambrish Kumar said RUHS Hospital began offering angiography and angioplasty services from June 2, with two angiographies performed initially.
Kumar explained that RUHS Hospital is expanding its medical services to decrease the patient load at Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital while providing advanced medical facilities to state residents. The introduction of angiography and angioplasty services means cardiac patients can now receive treatment at RUHS Hospital instead of travelling all the way to SMS Hospital. This development offers an additional treatment centre for cardiac patients across the state and helps reduce the patient load at SMS Hospital.
The hospital has also commenced plastic surgery services.
