Amateur Luke, 21, put himself in serious contention with a stunning bogey-free round of 65 in his second round at Emerald Dunes Golf Club on Tuesday. That saw him finish tied fourth after 36 holes - ahead of the likes of Graeme McDowell and Nicolai Hojgaard. But with just four spots up for grabs at the US Open, the University of Florida student went into a play-off with Austen Truslow. Truslow has made eight PGA Tour starts.
