Samie Elishi confesses 'I love Bali' just days after Molly-Mae's sister Zoe is mocked for leaving the island after just 48 hours because it didn't meet her expectations

Samie Elishi has confessed she 'loves Bali' just days after Molly-Mae's sister was mocked for leaving the island after just 48 hours due to being disappointed. Zoe, 28, has been slammed by her followers this last week after she confessed Bali did not meet her expectations and so fled to Dubai instead after just two days. The fitness enthusiast travelled to the Indonesian country to celebrate her one-year anniversary with her husband Danny. But despite staying in a huge sea view room at a 5-starRadisson Blu, 'something wasn't quite right' and so she fled her resort. And it has appeared that Samie has taken a subtle swipe at the star as she showed her support for the developing region during her holiday. As her wine glass was being topped up, Samie posted a snap of herself to her Instagram Stories with the caption. 'Cheers bbys, I luv Bali'. When Zoe explained the reasoning behind her departure, she claimed that Bali looks better on social media than in real life, as influencers make it look luxurious, despite it being a developing country. In a new YouTube video, Zoe told the camera: 'Since landing in Bali, something for us wasn't quite right. 'We came here with high expectations because we had seen on social media that everyone was having such a lovely time. Lovely places to eat and beaches, and lovely gyms and coffee shops. 'But I don't think the reality of Bali is shown much at all, and I do think it is down to a lot of influencers posting the more luxury side of things.' She added: 'Before joining the army, I spent five months travelling South East Asia. I did Thailand, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, I did a lot and spent time in these countries. But there is something very different about Bali. 'We got told Uluwatu where we are now is one of the best places to go, so if this is one of the better places, I'm not sure where the other places are like. 'I wasn't going to sit down and say anything, but people want to know.' Danny then joined the video and said: 'You either go on holiday to travel and experience culture or you want to go away and relax.' Zoe continued: 'Yeah, and we could have got a flight tomorrow as today is our anniversary, but time is precious and we just want to get out, and why delay it. 'We missed the mark, maybe we didn't do our own research, maybe it is our own fault. I did a lot of research though. 'I think it is just personal preference, and our preference was that this isn't for us, and we are making the executive decision to go enjoy our anniversary somewhere we know that we love and can relax and can drink the water.' Fans were divided in the comment section, with many claiming they loved Bali and asking for specific reasons why she didn't like it. 'I find this really surprising seeing as you travelled this part of the world. Everywhere there is like this - the 5* resorts are social media worthy but ultimately it's a developing area of the world and lots of the people there live in poverty.'; 'That is such a shame you didn't have a good experience:( Bali is a truly magical place with incredible people! But it is a poor country and I think people forget that and expect it to be like Dubai when that isn't the reality. Hope you have a good time in Dubai.'; 'I'm interested to know what exactly you didn't like about it? You didn't really go into specifics? I travelled there last year and loved it!'; Others agreed with Zoe, adding: I'm just home from backpacking Australia, Bali, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore and I can hands down agree with the insta vs reality with Bali!! We tried to enjoy it as much as we could but it is 100% portrayed sooo differently by influencers,' 'Why is everyone hating? Bali isn't for everyone, they arrived and didn't like it? Why would they waste time & money somewhere they're not enjoying?' In 2019, Zoe's sister Molly-Mae shared with fans that she 'fell in love with Bali' as she shared a series of stunning snaps to Instagram. Zoe later shared a photo dump on Instagram, showcasing her lavish Dubai trip after leaving Bali. Fans were divided in the comment section, with many claiming they loved Bali and asking for specific reasons why she didn't like it Others agreed with Zoe: I'm just home from backpacking Australia, Bali, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore and I can hands down agree with the insta vs reality with Bali!!' Zoe shared on Instagram: 'Danny surprised me with a stat at @atlantistheroyal which I couldn't believe!' The couple stayed at Atlantis The Royal, with rooms starting from around £290 per night during July, which is considered low season. In peak season, rooms can cost £1,570 a night. Zoe shared on Instagram: 'Danny surprised me with a stat at @atlantistheroyal which I couldn't believe!!! 'Going at this time of year definitely helped as everything was a lot cheaper!! For a very special occasion it's perfect.'

Zoe Hague seen back home for the first time since fans mocked her for leaving Bali after 48 hours because it didn't meet her expectations

Zoe Hague has returned home as she was seen heading home from a gym session on Thursday. Molly-Mae's influencer sister was recently mocked by fans for leaving Bali after just 48 hours because it didn't live up to her expectations. Instead she and her husband Danny made a last minute decision to fly to Dubai instead after Zoe, 28, took to social media to admit 'something wasn't quite right'. And the couple have now returned from their trip with Zoe seen out and about in Cheshire in an oversized navy jumper and blue gym shorts. She completed the look with a pair of white sports trainers and balanced a pair of shades on her head. Earlier this week Zoe received backlash after she took to social media to reveal she had chosen to leave Bali early. The fitness influencer had planned the trip to Indonesia with her husband Danny to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. And despite staying in a huge sea view room at the Radisson Blu, a five-star hotel, they decided to leave early and jet to Dubai instead. Zoe explained that Bali looks better on social media than in real life, as influencers make it look luxurious, despite it being a developing country. Bali locals want Molly Mae's sister banned from country after 'rude' comments

Molly-Mae Hague's older sister Zoe Rae has upset Bali locals after she decided to leave the paradise island after just 48 hours as it didn't look like it did online Disgruntled locals have urged Molly-Mae Hague's sister Zoe Rae to be blacklisted from Bali following her very public attack on the holiday hotspot. The Love Island star's older sibling revealed she packed up and left the paradise island after just 48 hours as it is 'nothing like influencers make out.' ‌ The fitness influencer, 28, admitted she didn't think her planned 10-day holiday lived up to the social media hype and didn't hold back her true feelings. She had planned the lavish trip to Indonesia with her husband Danny to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. ‌ However, within just hours of being there Zoe claimed it was completely different to what it seemed online. She decided to post a YouTube video where she laid into all the things wrong with Bali, and it attracted some strong opinions in return. ‌ Zoe has now come under fire from some unimpressed locals, who mocked her for fleeing to "fake" Dubai instead. Indonesia is considered a developing country, where the average monthly wage is less than £140. Bali is the most popular tourist destination as thousands of influencers have flocked to luxury hotels and upmarket activities in recent years. Zoe chose to stay in a stunning sea view room at the five-star Radisson Blu hotel, yet her strong opinions have left some calling for her to never be able to return. ‌ Travel agent Yuli Budi Santoso told MailOnline: "I think in the future, they have to be blacklisted from entering Indonesia. They have already made Bali look bad. "They were disrespectful for posting a vlog that portrays Bali negatively, even though they don't know where Bali really is, how Bali is, what Bali is like. I think we should all report the video and get her account suspended." Meanwhile, I Made Somya Putra (CORR), a Balinese activist and lawyer, urged the couple to be blacklisted if they ever returned. "It's like tasting a scoop of water and thinking you can judge the whole ocean," he said. ‌ "Of course, freedom of speech is important. However, what immigration should do is put them on a watch list. When they re-enter Bali or Indonesia immigration should question them deeply, asking the true purpose of their visit." Speaking in her hotel room as part of her vlog, Zoe admitted: "Since landing in Bali, something for us wasn't quite right. We came here with high expectations because we had seen on social media that everyone was having such a lovely time. ‌ "Gorgeous places to eat and lovely beaches, and lovely gyms and coffee shops. But if you took a picture of the coffee shop and zoomed out, you would see what the reality was." She added: "I don't think the reality of Bali is shown much at all, and I do think it is down to a lot of influencers posting the more luxury side of things." Zoe insisted: "I did a lot [of travelling through Asia] and spent time in these countries. But there is something very different about Bali. We got told Uluwatu where we are now is one of the best places to go, that's why we came here. So if this is one of the better places, I'm not sure where the other places are like." Zoe ended by saying: "I think it is just personal preference, and our preference was that this isn't for us, and we are making the executive decision to go enjoy our anniversary somewhere we know that we love and can relax and can drink the water." The couple decided to head to Dubai for the rest of their anniversary trip instead.

Molly-Mae Hague's 'pretentious' sister sparks Bali travel debate

Molly-Mae Hague's sister Zoe Rae left Bali after just 48 hours to jet off to Dubai instead. And people have thoughts . The 28-year-old fitness influencer had travelled to Indonesia with her husband, Danny, to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. However, in a new YouTube vlog, Zoe revealed that Bali didn't live up to her 'high expectations,' which included 'beaches, lovely places to eat, gyms, and coffee shops.' Despite staying in a spacious room at the five-star Radisson Blu hotel, Zoe claimed she had been misled by influencers who only post the 'luxury side of things.' She said that Uluwatu, a village on Bali's southwestern tip, had been recommended as one of the best places to go. Her reaction was the opposite: 'If this is one of the better places, I'm not sure what the others are like.' Fuel your wanderlust with our curated newsletter of travel deals, guides and inspiration. Sign up here. Before signing off, Zoe said she'd heavily researched Bali ahead of their trip. And, in a controversial comment, concluded: 'I think it is just personal preference, and our preference was that this isn't for us, and we are making the executive decision to go enjoy our anniversary somewhere we know that we love and can relax and can drink the water.' Those who have spent time in Bali and other parts of Indonesia disagree. It's a fascinating part of the world with an abundance of culture, food and history to boot. On YouTube, one viewer described Bali as a 'real place, with real culture, real problems and real people.' They said 'it's not going to be picture perfect' like Dubai because it's 'not a manufactured concrete jungle made for Instagram and selfies.' 'It's a developing country, and to me personally, that's what makes it so interesting. I'd much rather less glamorous travelling with some real culture. Not sure what you expected,' they concluded. Another echoed this sentiment: 'Bali is a beautiful island, but if you're used to going to Dubai, then it's absolutely nothing like that.' 'There's so much rich culture if you're prepared to look for, embrace it, and come out of your comfort zone,' they continued, adding that the people 'couldn't do enough for you.' Finally, another commenter, who honeymooned in Bali, said they were 'surprised' by Zoe's comments. They shared their experience: 'We stayed in a villa in the jungle part of Ubud. The people are so friendly and kind, that's part of the magic. And sadly, influencers can be a big problem for countries like this.' Metro contacted Zoe about the furore, but she hasn't responded. We did manage to speak to Ravindra Singh Shekhawat, Intrepid Travel's Indonesia General Manager and Bali resident, to get his take on her comments. He told us: 'It's an important reminder that social media can often show the 'highlights' or just one side of a destination.' When in reality, there are multiple ways to experience a country and definitely no one way to see this island. 'Bali has a lot to offer beyond luxury experiences and its beaches. It's a very spiritual place with a mix of different traditions and religions. We live by the Balinese concept of ' menyama braya ' which promotes wisdom through harmony. We love to welcome and share our culture with travellers.' With that in mind, we've done some digging to find five Indonesian experiences that would live up to anyone's expectations. Just an hour's flight from Bali is Flores, a stunning 'hidden gem'. It's one of Indonesia's Lesser Sunda Islands, and paradise beaches, natural hot springs, coral reefs, and impeccable surf spots are everywhere. It's the perfect destination for wildlife lovers, as Flores is home to some of the world's most beautiful marine life. Indonesian travel company Adventure Archipelago offer a 12-day trip exploring the best of Flores. From visiting the remote villages of Bena and the Ngada Tribe, to discovering hidden coves, you'll also head to a mountain complete with three coloured lakes. Prices for this once-in-a-lifetime trip start from £1,498 per person. A steal, really, considering the jam-packed itinerary. Sumatra and Java are Indonesia's biggest islands, so there's a lot of tropical ground to cover. Bamboo Travel, a company that offers private tours of Asia, reveals how you can spend 19 days making the most of both. Spend time in Medan, Sumatra's capital, before heading to Bukit Lawang,in the Gunung Leuser National Park. There's a good chance you'll spot wild orangutans here. Java is considered the cultural heart of Indonesia. Whether you hit up the colonial town of Bogor, famed for its botanical gardens, or experience modern Indonesia in the thriving city of Bandung, the island's surrounding landscape is made up of fertile plains, towering volcanoes, and spectacular beaches. You can request a quote for this tour, as prices vary depending on which country you arrive from. Zoe Rae may have been disappointed with Bali, but in 48 hours, there's no way she can have explored all it has to offer. 'At Intrepid, our trips are all about experiencing a destination like a local. We hope that our travellers come away from their holiday having seen more of the country than just hotels and hotspots,' says Shekhawat. Bali is famous for its cuisine, which combines fresh ingredients, aromatic spices, and unique cooking methods. And Shekhawat says that no trip to the island is complete without a guided market tour: 'Try Kreneng Market in Denpasar, where you can eat like a local and enjoy traditional snacks like bakso soup or jasuke, a sweet, steamed corn dish.' Intrepid offers a three-hour Bali Heritage Food Tour at this market (£34), where travellers can dig into delicious Indonesian cuisine and try authentic coffee in an old antique coffee shop. To learn more about the issues Bali faces and to give back to the community, visit a local social enterprise. Shekhawat says: 'We support a local NGO Scholar of Sustenance which is focused on reducing food waste and hunger, collecting food from hotels, supermarkets and farms and distributing it to those in need.' His next recommendation is checking out a traditional Kecak dance performance. It's not driven by musical instruments, but by human chanting. And of course, Bali is renowned for its temples. Shekhawat's favourite is Ulun Danu Beratan Temple. 'Taking part in a blessing and purification ceremony is a great way to encapsulate the spirituality of Bali.' Keen to fit all of these experiences into one trip? Intrepid's nine-day Beautiful Bali package starts from £537. During this getaway, you'll explore Undisan by cycling through backstreets, villages and rice fields, and marvelling at intricately carved temples. You'll also hike to the summit of Mt Batur for a sunrise view. Other highlights include a night in Sibetan Village – a community-based tourism experience where travellers stay with locals and can explore a traditional village. Seeking turquoise waters, stretches of white sands, and miles of verdant forests? Lombok, an island east of Bali, should be on your bucket list. As beaches are its main selling point, head to paradise hotspots like Kuta Beach and Tanjung Aan, which boasts unique rock formations and a beautiful bay. Selong Belanak is popular for swimming and surfing, while the famous Pink Beach is a snorkelling haven. Hikers, climb Mount Rinjani, or visit Tiu Kelep or Sendang Gile, two unique waterfalls. The famous Gili Islands are also a must-see: three tiny islets characterised by sandy beaches, palm trees, and coral reefs led Metro to coin them the Indonesian Maldives. Want to experience life like a local? Traditional Sasak culture tours start from £29 on Get Your Guide, and feature pottery classes, Sasak weaving, and a window into rural life. If Indonesian island hopping is on the agenda, Borneo's 31 Derawan Islands are a must-visit. They're renowned for their diving and snorkelling spots, where respectful travellers can explore diverse marine life and vibrant coral reefs. Scuba Junkie, a local diving company, offers dive packages which include dreamy bungalow accommodation. A two-day diving course in a twin-share bungalow costs £310. If you're happy sharing a dorm, it's a little cheaper at £274.70. More Trending However, to guarantee a proper dive trip to islands such as Maratua and Kakaban, a minimum of four to six days of diving will need to be booked. Four days in a dorm costs £510. Thrillseekers, make sure to visit Kakaban Lake on the aforementioned Kakaban Island to swim with stingless jellyfish. In the local dialect, Kakaban means 'hug,' and refers to the way the island looks as though it's hugging the lake. The islet is a UNESCO World Heritage site. On Sangalaki Island, you can watch turtles nest and hatch, while notable beaches include Derawan Beach, Maratua Lagoon and Nabire Beach. This particular gem is known for its breathtaking sunsets. Cocktail, anyone? So you see, Indonesia is anything but less-than. We know we'll be adding plenty of these experiences to our bucket lists. Influencers at war over Bali! Molly-Mae's sister Zoe's scathing review of the country divides online critics over whether it is a digital nomad's dream or an 'overcrowded s***hole'

Molly Mae Hague 's sister Zoe Rae came under fire for leaving Bali just 48 hours after she arrived because it 'did not live up to expectations set by other influencers'. After sharing her honest review in a YouTube video, Zoe's followers claimed they were 'surprised' by her reaction because the country is a developing area of the world where many live in poverty. While the five star resorts - like the Radisson Blu Utuwata where Zoe stayed - portray exclusive luxury, a lot of the country does not match up to the flawless social media aesthetic projected by influencers online. Many poked fun at Zoe, 28, for not realising this was the case after she complained that she and her husband Danny had 'missed the mark' when they decided to celebrate their anniversary in Bali. However, others have agreed with the former army medic and said that they were also shocked by the reality of the country - which they described as 'dirty and smelly' - in their own scathing reviews. After a look at the opinions on TikTok, influencers are at odds over their Bali experience, with contrasting reviews both raving over the area and slating the country as a 'terrible' holiday destination. Despite staying in a huge sea view room at the Radisson Blu, a five-star hotel, they decided to leave early and jet to Dubai instead. Zoe explained that Bali looks better on social media than in real life, as influencers make it look luxurious, despite it being a developing country. She claimed that it did not meet their high expectations after being promised 'lovely places to eat, beaches, gyms and coffee shops'. However she insisted that the 'reality' of Bali is not shown online, which she believes is down to influencers sharing a misleading version online. HATE IT One of the online critics who agreed with Zoe and Danny's point of view was fitness and travel influencer Harry - whose Tiktok handle is @resurgent_harry. Harry told his followers he was 'so glad' the couple had voiced their opinion after he travelled the country for two months and 'tried so hard to like it'. In a new clip shared to his page, Harry said: 'I'm so glad Zoe and Danny said what they did. Bali is Dubai for people that can't afford Dubai. 'Went to Bali for two months and I tried so hard to like it. I've known Danny for years and I just felt exactly the same. 'It's for people who want to post fancy pictures and tell everyone how great their life is. But Dubai has created its own infrastructure and it's own ecosystem and lifestyle and everything, and Bali doesn't have that. Also in agreement was @pavlazarou, who claimed he felt too scared to eat and complained about the smell after being 'gaslighted' by Instagram Revealing what he didn't like about Bali, he continued: 'It is completely overcrowded. There's no infrastructure, but somehow it's still quite expensive. It is aesthetic, only is very small pockets. The gyms are amazing but as soon as you leave the gyms, you are being run over by scooters on the pavements. 'You can't go for a run, there is trash everywhere. The beaches are completely covered in trash. The people there are just trying to convince you, themselves and everyone that they're really successful. And then try and convince you to buy their course. 'I'm sorry I never normally say bad things about places online and I've been to a lot of places but Bali was the worst place that I have travelled to. And I went to Ukraine last year.' Also in agreement was @pavlazarou, who claimed he felt too scared to eat and complained about the smell after being 'gaslighted' by Instagram. He said: 'We've spent three days now in Seminyak and three days in Jangu now, it's an unpopular opinion but Bali is a f***ing s*****e. 'Everywhere is dirty, it stinks everywhere. You feel too scared to eat the food. Instagram and TikTok has gaslighted me into thinking this place is nice but it's not. It's minging and there's nothing to do. 'I don't mean to be so negative but I've come all this way to try and enjoy myself but I just don't get the hype. Like is this really what people come all this way for? I don't get it. 'We're meant to be going to Ubud, Uluwatu and Gili Islands and I'm hoping it's so much better than this. Right now I want nothing more than to leave and go home.' Meanwhile, Corrin's main complaint for the country was the traffic, which she told her 4,000 TikTok followers was completely 'unbearable'. The influencer - whose handle is @cor_98 - said: ' Everyone says come to Bali it's an amazing place to come. Honestly I absolutely hate it, look at this. 'Traffic is everywhere. Look how built up it is, it's awful. You can't even move. You can't even cross the road. 'You stand at a zebra crossing and everyone still goes by. Literally you're just asking yourself to be run over. The traffic is unbearable, I've never seen something like this in my life. It's changed my perspective completely.' LOVE IT However, there were many staunch advocates for the Bali who praised the 'beautiful' views across the ocean in scenic videos of the area. Fiona Wang - who goes by @heyfionawang - insisted that the 'real Bali' is not overrated as she posted a sneak peek at her accomodation. She said: 'If you think Bali is overrated like I did the first time I came here, it's because you don't know where to go. Because look at this, oh my lord, that's the ocean and the pool and that's so beautiful and that's my villa. 'Actually have the views directly to this and all this is only $120. So this is called Segara Seaside in Nusa Ceningan and in my next video I'll give you a full review and show you the real Bali that is not overrated. Meanwhile, Tom Birchy - known as @tombirchy on the platform - revealed that Bali was growing on him after previously being a 'hater' of the country. He said: 'When we got here two days ago we were driving through the streets and we were like wow it's a bit dirty here like, look, there's a river - not looking its best. 'But after two days here I'm kind of getting the charm. It's definitely not for me, it's different - but I get it.' He admitted he can see why people are drawn to the island as a place to base themselves as a digital nomad. He said: 'If you're in your late 20s, early 30s, a digital nomad looking for a place to base yourself with a load of likeminded individuals Bali's got that. Especially this area I'm in now, Changu.' Revealing what it's got going for it, he said: 'It's got brekkie spots and artisan coffee shops, everything you could want. 'But I do kind of go, ah, it doesn't really have much authenticity. It seems like Australia light. I guess that's kind of the business model here. ' Indonesia is an Islamic country, but a secular one. So they have zoned all the s*** to Bali. All of the nightclubs, party culture. 'All of that stuff is kept here to concentrate it so it doesn't over spill into other locations. Kind of cool. But yeah, it's interesting. I like all the little shops, they're different and there's lots of boutiques. It's a cool place, maybe I'll change my mind about Bali.' Alex (alcross) was also in favour of encouraging others to visit Bali, as she recommended the nice restaurants and stunning sunsets. She said: 'I'm just on the beach in Uluwatu in Bali and I just wanted to do a quick review. I've only been here for four nights and the great thing about it is that it's much quieter than Jangu. That's the only place I've been so far. 'The beaches are nicer and quieter, it's a much more chilled vibe. The only thing I would say is that you need to learn to ride a scooter or you can't get around that easily. But it's really good. Much more of my kind of vibe than Jangu. There's so many nice restaurants and places to eat, and a beautiful place to watch the sunset.' Sharing his own honest review of Bali, Liam Etheridge (liametheridge2) said that he was drawn to the country because of his love of beaches and it didn't disappoint. He said: 'A lot of people are asking at the moment if Bali is worth going to if you're travelling around SE Asia. My simple answer for this is yes. Three reasons why I wanted to come here was purely because I love beaches. 'So the beaches in Bali are absolutely insane. Especially if you like surfing the waves here i Uluwatu to Noosaduwa are really good for that. And the second reason which we haven't actually done yet is the diving.' 'In Ko Tao (Thailand) we got our diving licences and every instructor said go to Bali because the diving in insane. There's so much to do here, you've got the rise terraces and mountains. You can hike for sunrise, volcanoes. 'And then you've also got the waterfalls. So if you enjoy all of that then Bali is definitely worth the trip.' In his own expletive-laden review, Mashtag Brady said: 'So far, honest review of Bali. Greatest place ever! What is everyone talking about? The amount of messages I got saying why are you going there it's f***ing shit.
