Bung's leadership remains strong and people's choice - Salleh

KINABATANGAN (July 13): A vibrant show of unity and grassroots support was on full display at the Radu Tatap Radu event held on Sunday at the Buang Sayang Polling District Centre (PDM) in the Lamag state constituency, with the spotlight firmly on the leadership of Datuk Seri Panglima Bung Moktar Radin. Speaking at the event, Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak, director of BN Sabah's election campaign, stated that any attempt to challenge Bung's position in Lamag is nothing more than a political fantasy. 'Any effort to topple Bung in Lamag is merely wishful thinking,' said Salleh. 'The people of Lamag know Bung well. They have seen, with their own eyes, the transformation he has brought to Kinabatangan – a once-neglected region that is now nationally recognised for its development, infrastructure upgrades and political significance.' Salleh further emphasized that Bung who is also the Member of Parliament for Kinabatangan, is not just a strong figure in Lamag but one of the key voices advocating for Sabah at the national level. 'Bung's experience, courage and unwavering commitment to the people are second to none. From rural road upgrades and clean water supply to ensuring Kinabatangan's concerns are heard in federal corridors – he has consistently delivered,' he added. The Radu Tatap Radu event at Buang Sayang, which was also attended by Bung himself, was described by Salleh as more than just a community programme – it was a clear display of loyalty and political confidence from the people. 'This is more than a community programme – it is a declaration of loyalty. Bung's leadership is not only respected but sought after by the people. Lamag remains a BN stronghold, and the voters are clear about who they trust to continue fighting for their future,' he concluded.

BN will work hard to recapture Kukusan seat – Salleh

KUKUSAN (June 17): Barisan Nasional (BN) is determined to recapture the Kukusan state seat in the upcoming state election after losing narrowly in the last election, said Sabah BN treasurer Datuk Sri Dr Salleh Said Keruak. He described the seat as winnable and strategically important for BN in the east coast of Sabah. 'The loss last time was by a small margin. That tells us the people of Kukusan are still with us — we just need to work harder and stay consistent in our outreach,' he said after attending the Radu Tatap Radu grassroots engagement program held in Kukusan on Tuesday. Salleh emphasized that BN's strategy moving forward will focus on strengthening its grassroots machinery, understanding the people's concerns, and offering practical solutions — especially in areas such as infrastructure, job creation and public services. 'Through programs like Radu Tatap Radu, we are not just reconnecting with voters — we are rebuilding trust and reaffirming our commitment to serve. This is part of our long-term effort, not a seasonal campaign,' he added. The BN treasurer also noted that cooperation under the Unity Government will allow BN to bring more development and stability to Kukusan and the surrounding areas. Among the activities lined up for the program were the distribution of engine oil to motorcyclists by Umno Youth Kalabakan, a morning Zumba session and telematch games organized by Puteri Umno Kalabakan, a cooking demonstration by Wanita Umno Kalabakan, culminating in the grand finale — 'Malam Santai PDM Sentosa'.
