Charles: Better to channel Sara aid to EPF accounts under RM10k
Pointing to alarming statistics on Employees Provident Fund (EPF) contributors, former DAP lawmaker Charles Santiago has urged the government to adopt a more targeted approach for its Rahmah Necessities Aid (Sara) initiative. Under Sara, adult Malaysians will receive a one-off RM100 assistance in conjunction with this year's National Day celebrations.

Cops warn of scams targeting Sara aid recipients
The public has been urged to be cautious of scam syndicates which might take advantage of the RM100 assistance under the Rahmah Necessities Aid (Sara) programme, which the prime minister recently announced. Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department director Rusdi Isa said authorities expect these syndicates to become active again, targeting the public to obtain personal and banking information under the guise of verifying aid eligibility.

No application needed for one-off RM100 Sara aid
The Finance Ministry has issued a reminder that the one-off RM100 Rahmah Necessities Aid on Aug 31 does not require any application and will be directly credited into each recipient's identification card. Deputy Treasury secretary-general (Policy) Zamzuri Abdul Aziz said the cash aid did not utilise any e-Wallet service as well.
