Ahmedabad municipal corp van driver booked after one dead in collision; police say did not have driver's license
The Ahmedabad Traffic Police on Thursday booked the driver of an Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) garbage collection van after its collision with several two-wheelers led to the death of a 51-year-old.
The incident took place on Thursday morning in the crowded Jamalpur area of the city. Rahul Haresh Parmar, who allegedly did not have a driver's license, allegedly drove the AMC's door-to-door waste collection van 'negligently' at high speed', hitting several vehicles.
Yasin Yusuf Barafwala was grievously injured and died on the spot, while others were injured.
The 'E' Division Traffic police booked Parmar on the basis of complaint filed by the deceased's son Faizan and booked Parmar under BNS sections 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 125(a) (endangering human life or personal safety), 125(b) (rash or negligent act), 281 (rash driving), 324(2) (mischief), as well as sections of the Motor Vehicles Act.
