Indore: As a part of the recently approved working women hostels in industrial areas of Madhya Pradesh, a 1775-seat hostel is planned at Pithampur industrial area, one of the state's largest industrial areas, at an outlay of Rs 76.5 crore. The Union govt has also approved a special assistance loan of Rs 284 crore for this project. In addition to Pithampur, another hostel with 1,554 seats is planned in Vikram Udyogpuri industrial area of Ujjain, backed by a budget of Rs 66.4 crore. Rajesh Rathod, executive director of the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) said, "We are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for working women in industrial areas. The facilities in Pithampur, Ujjain, Raisen, Bhind and other areas will be developed to ensure that women can work in these areas without worrying about their accommodation. Industrial areas having textile and garment industry are among the ones that will be immensely benefited because they have a maximum number of women employees. Additionally, a 666-seat facility is planned for Malanpur industrial area in Bhind, with an outlay of Rs 23.16 crore. "We are planning to float the tenders for hostel construction soon. The approval from the centre has already come and construction work will start soon," said Rathod. Rajesh Rathod, executive director of Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) in Ujjain, said, "We are developing a new industrial area in Kachnariya on about 177 hectares. The infrastructure development and proximity to the airport recently attracted many investors to Ujjain. For Kachnariya, we received applications from two industries engaged in the manufacturing of solar equipment, and another is a chemical unit."The industries department is pinning hopes on textile, food processing, pharmaceuticals, packaging, and other sectors to attract investment in Ujjain. The industries department is adding to the land bank across Dhar, Maksi, Agar-Malwa, Neemuch, and other potential locations in the state to attract substantial investments from is looking to expand its water supply capacity in the industrial areas amid an increase in the number of industries in the region. The estimated additional demand for water is somewhere around 8-10 MLD. Indore: Three food processing units and a textile firm submitted their intention to invest to the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) for Ujjain district. Amitex Agro Product Pvt Ltd proposed to invest Rs 200 crore to set up a food processing unit at Lalukhedi, Agar Malwa. The company pledged to create around 800 jobs. Another food processing firm, Sanket Oils Pvt Ltd, intended to invest Rs 75 crore in the food oil processing sector at Mandsaur and create 650 jobs. Safal Food Pvt Ltd showed interest in setting up a pulses mill with an investment of Rs 138 crore at Mandsaur, generating job opportunities for 800 people. Jain Cord Industries Pvt Ltd pledged to invest Rs 2,500 crore in textile and apparel manufacturing at Basai, Mandsaur. The textile unit proposed to create 11,000 jobs. Proximity to Indore, the airport, dry port, and availability of land and workforce have attracted the interest of industries. Indore: Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) allocated 15 acre of land to a South Korean firm to set up a state-of-the-art manufacturing unit for affordable cancer diagnosis kits at Medical Device Park in Ujjain. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The project proposed by the South Korean company E-Fiber Group , backed by a foreign direct investment (FDI) of Rs 209 crore, aims to produce 50 lakh in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) kits and 1 crore related products each month. The group will work on the design, manufacturing, supply, and servicing of these diagnostic kits, which are critical for detecting cancer at its early stages. The innovative technology, which utilises urine samples, promises to offer a simple and convenient option for patients, facilitating early cancer detection. The products will incorporate advanced nano-fibre and cellulose-based biopolymers, known for their effectiveness in cancer prevention. MPIDC Ujjain executive director Rajesh Rathod said, "With FDI investment from E-Fiber Group in Ujjain's Medical Device Park, the industrial landscape of the state will transform. The project will accelerate economic growth and pave way for better healthcare services for millions of people, while also strengthening the state's self-reliance in crucial areas like healthcare and cancer diagnosis."

In recent months, many textile and garment companies from Bhilwara, Rajasthan, have expressed intentions to invest in Neemuch district, with some establishments already operational in the area. Land for the proposed industrial area is secured and the development plan is being devised. Rajesh Rathod, executive director of MPIDC said, "Neemuch's industrial growth extends beyond textiles. The Jhanjharwada industrial area is fully occupied, with investments generating over 8,000 jobs. The first phase of Swaraj Suitings Private Limited from Bhilwara was inaugurated by chief minister Mohan Yadav, featuring an initial investment of Rs 150 crore that will create approximately 750 direct jobs. The total cost of the project is estimated at Rs 450 crore and will be rolled out in multiple phases. In addition, Suvidhi Rayons Private Limited has initiated a project in Morvan, Jawad, with an investment of ₹350 crore, expected to generate around 2,000 direct jobs. Last year, Rs 3,000 crore investment was proposed in the cement sector of Sagarana in Neemuch. According to MPIDC, in financial year 2024-25, over 1070 units received land allotment letters, with more than 330 units having undergone foundation-laying or inauguration ceremonies. A Rs 5,262 crore financial assistance has been disbursed to industries.
