Coolie First Day First Show Tickets Sold For Rs 4,500 In Chennai Black Market
Rajinikanth's film Coolie has led to ticket prices soaring, with black market rates hitting Rs 4,500 for first-day, first-show screenings in Chennai. The excitement surrounding superstar Rajinikanth's highly anticipated film Coolie has triggered an unexpected surge in ticket prices, particularly for the first-day, first-show (FDFS) screenings. In Chennai, reports reveal that black market scalpers are selling these coveted tickets for as much as Rs 4,500. Advance bookings for Coolie have seen unprecedented enthusiasm not only in Tamil Nadu but also across other Indian states and international markets. This overwhelming demand has unfortunately led to widespread black marketing. Single-screen cinemas and fan clubs have allegedly violated Tamil Nadu government regulations by inflating ticket prices. A report from India Today highlights one Chennai theatre reportedly selling FDFS tickets for Rs 4,500. Meanwhile, in Pollachi, a theatre staff member was caught on camera selling tickets at Rs 400, well above the official price limit. Sharing his frustration with the inflated prices, a dedicated Rajinikanth admirer told the outlet, 'I have tried my luck at all the popular theatres in Chennai. Tickets are priced at Rs 600, Rs 1,000, with the highest being Rs 4,500. I can't book online for the first show as they're either blocked or sold out. Fans like me have no other choice but to buy in black or wait until later shows at regular rates." The frenzy is not limited to Tamil Nadu. Neighboring states have also witnessed rising prices for the dubbed versions of Coolie. Kerala and Karnataka have announced early morning shows starting as soon as 6 a.m., while Tamil Nadu's first screening is set for 9 am in adherence to state government guidelines. Scheduled for release on August 14, Coolie has already generated significant revenue, recovering over 66 per cent of its Rs 375 crore budget before hitting theatres. According to Pinkvilla, the film's makers have earned approximately Rs 250 crore through the sale of international distribution, digital streaming, music, and satellite rights. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie promises a quintessential Rajinikanth-style mass entertainer, featuring a star-studded cast including Nagarjuna, Sathyaraj, Aamir Khan, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, and Shruti Haasan in key roles. Is Dolly Chaiwala's Instagram account no longer available?
Dolly Chaiwala, the flamboyant tea-seller from Nagpur, whose flair for brewing chai made him a social media sensation, has unexpectedly disappeared from Instagram, leaving lakhs of followers surprised and disappointed. His account, once buzzing with videos of his signature moves, trendy clothes, flashy hairstyles, and oversized shades, has been deactivated without warning. Known for serving tea with a dramatic, Rajinikanth-style twist at his iconic stall, Dolly Ki Tapri, in Sitabuldi Civil Lines, Dolly has built a loyal fanbase both online and offline. Tourists, influencers, and locals line up daily just to catch a glimpse of the man who turned tea-making into performance art. Beyond Instagram, his presence remains strong on YouTube, where he has over two million subscribers. Dolly's rise to global fame reached a new high in February 2024 when none other than Bill Gates stopped by his stall for a cup of tea. The video, shared by Gates himself, catapulted Dolly into the international spotlight and earned him a surge of followers and brand deals. But Dolly isn't just basking in the spotlight, he's turning the buzz into business. He recently announced his expansion into the franchise world, inviting others to be part of what he calls 'India's first viral street brand.' 'It's India's first viral street brand, and now… it's a business opportunity,' he wrote in a now-viral post. 'From carts to flagship cafes, we're launching nationwide and looking for real people with real passion to carry this dream forward.' Through an application link shared in his Instagram Stories, he laid out the three formats for potential franchisees: a cart model costing between Rs 4.5 to Rs 6 lakh, a store model priced around Rs 20 to Rs 22 lakh, and a flagship café setup between Rs 39 to Rs 43 lakh.
