BJP a strong alternative in Telangana: Ramchander Rao
HYDERABAD: Asserting that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is emerging as a strong alternative in Telangana, its state unit president N Ramchander Rao on Sunday urged intellectuals, lawyers, farmers, women and youth to join its ranks to help bring it to power in the next Assembly elections. Former BRS MLA Guvvala Balaraju joined the BJP in the presence of Ramchander Rao, Rajya Sabha MP K Laxman and others in Nampally. Ramchander said Balaraju was drawn by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's governance for the poor and marginalised, as well as his efforts toward national development. He expressed confidence that Balaraju would strengthen the BJP not only in Achampet but across Telangana. The BJP state president criticised the state government for failing to manage the monsoon, saying even light rain paralyses traffic in Hyderabad. He urged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to focus on governance instead of frequently visiting New Delhi. Ridiculing Revanth's call to set up the 'Gateway of Hyderabad', Ramchander said the BJP would become the 'Gateway of Telangana' and that voluntary inductions, including Balaraju's, signalled the party's future victory. He also accused Rahul Gandhi of being a 'fake Indian' making baseless allegations about 'fake votes' and 'vote theft'. Ramchander said Congress never raised such issues when it won in Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra and Telangana, and alleged that Rahul Gandhi was surrounded by 'urban Naxals and anti-national forces'.

BJP to Revanth: Why don't you offer CM post to Ponnam, Goud?
HYDERABAD: Welcoming his suggestion that the BJP ensure the election of Bandaru Dattatreya as Vice President, state BJP president N Ramchander Rao on Friday said that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy should support leaders like Ponnam Prabhakar and Mahesh Kumar Goud and see that they occupy CM's chair. During an informal chat with reporters at the state BJP office, Ramchander sarcastically said that Revanth deserves a 'Bhaskar Award, not Oscar' and quipped he is also eligible for 'Goebbels Campaign Prize'. He announced that he has no intention to contest in the next Assembly elections or any other elections. Referring to recent internal troubles in the state BJP, he said: 'Internal problems are part and parcel of every political party. But those are not made public by other parties. It is different with the BJP because of its democratic setup.' 'Our national leadership will deal with these issues and resolve them at the earliest,' he added. Slamming Revanth for describing Prime Minister Narendra Modi as 'a converted BC', Ramchander asked the CM to inform people about Rahul Gandhi's caste.

Telangana state BJP president Ramchander Rao demands demolition of Akbaruddin Owaisi college
HYDERABAD: Newly appointed state BJP president N Ramchander Rao on Monday accused the Congress government of showing undue favouritism towards a college built by AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi, allegedly on Salkam lake bed. In a strongly worded statement, Ramchander questioned why the government granted relaxations to this college while taking a harsh stance against poor families residing in the Musi River catchment area, despite them having purchased the land legally and obtained necessary permissions. He demanded the immediate demolition of the college, warning that BJP cadre would 'take action' if the government failed to do so. He criticised the government's justification for the relaxation, citing provision of education to 10,000 students at the college. 'If the government can show such leniency here, why not for the lakhs of poor people living near the Musi? Why are their homes being demolished even after they paid taxes and followed due procedures?' he asked. He further pointed out that the government had already granted relaxations to the college for the previous academic year. 'Instead of repeatedly bending rules, the management should have been given time to relocate and continue education elsewhere,' he said. He also levelled serious allegations against Akbaruddin Owaisi, accusing him of 'grabbing government land, evading taxes, and even sheltering terrorists.' He demanded immediate action against the MLA and the demolition of the disputed structure. Ramchander also condemned recent attacks on media houses and urged the government to ensure their safety. He issued a stern warning to the BRS, saying, 'If they target media outlets, the BJP's state unit will retaliate by safeguarding journalists and counter-attacking BRS-affiliated media.'
