BJP to Revanth: Why don't you offer CM post to Ponnam, Goud?
During an informal chat with reporters at the state BJP office, Ramchander sarcastically said that Revanth deserves a 'Bhaskar Award, not Oscar' and quipped he is also eligible for 'Goebbels Campaign Prize'.
He announced that he has no intention to contest in the next Assembly elections or any other elections. Referring to recent internal troubles in the state BJP, he said: 'Internal problems are part and parcel of every political party. But those are not made public by other parties. It is different with the BJP because of its democratic setup.'
'Our national leadership will deal with these issues and resolve them at the earliest,' he added.
Slamming Revanth for describing Prime Minister Narendra Modi as 'a converted BC', Ramchander asked the CM to inform people about Rahul Gandhi's caste.

NDA VP candidate CP Radhakrishnan with Tamil Nadu CM and DMK chief MK Stalin CHENNAI: NDA's decision to field C P Radhakrishnan as its vice-presidential candidate has put DMK in a political bind. To reject a candidate from Tamil Nadu could be portrayed as disregarding Tamil pride, a line rivals are expected to play up in the 2026 campaign. Yet, extending support to a BJP-backed nominee would go against DMK's long-standing political positioning against the Centre. On Monday, pressure mounted on DMK to back CPR. AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami said the nomination of CPR was an opportunity for TN to send someone from the state to the vice-president's office. "A Tamilian has got an opportunity to become a VP. So all MPs from TN should support it, shedding political differences,'' EPS told reporters at Tiruvannamalai. BJP state president Nainar Nagenthran, for his part, said he would meet chief minister M K Stalin seeking support for CPR. "It would not be fair to stay away when there was an opportunity for a Tamilian to reach new heights," he said. Tamil Maanila Congress president GK Vasan also joined the chorus, calling Radhakrishnan "a son of the soil, admired by all beyond political affiliations" and "a great honour for Tamils." While DMK was yet to make an announcement, its allies said there was no room for apprehension just because CPR was a Tamilian. "Even if BJP announced a presidential candidate from TN, people here will not support them,'' said TNCC president K Selvaperunthagai. CPM state secretary P Shanmugham said CPR's nomination would in no way benefit TN. "Tamils have already held posts of vice-president and President. So, there is nothing new here,'' he said. Shanmugam added that BJP candidates would ultimately act on the party's directions rather than independently. A senior DMK neta said an announcement on the party's position would be made soon.

BJP MP recalls Cong ‘vote-theft' of 2003 assembly elections
Bhopal: On a day when the Election Commission of India (ECI) rejected as baseless the 'vote-theft' allegations of Lok Sabha LOP Rahul Gandhi , BJP MP from Rewa, Janardhan Mishra, opened the Congress' skeleton of voting irregularities pertaining to the 2003 assembly elections. Addressing a BJP workers' meeting in Mauganj, Mishra related the incident in which a single-room house in the Mangawan assembly seat had more than 1,100 registered voters. "The biggest example of vote-theft in the country is Rewa," Mishra said. "Here, it was exposed how one house had 1,100 voters registered and the Congress was in power. BJP revealed the fake voters and ran a campaign, after which the Congress govt was routed and BJP came to power," he recalled. The incident occurred during the Digvijaya Singh versus Uma Bharti 2003 assembly elections when more than 1,100 voters were registered in the single-room house in the Mangawan assembly seat, which was at the time represented by former Speaker and Congress' candidate Shriniwas Tiwari, popularly known at the time as the 'White Tiger of Rewa'. The BJP's campaign against Shriniwas Tiwari left him defeated by 26,930 votes against the saffron party's candidate Girish Gautam. Mangawan is one of the eight assembly seats of the Rewa Lok Sabha constituency. State Congress president Jitu Patwari, however, interpreted Janardhan Mishra's remarks in a different manner. Speaking to reporters, Jitu Patwari argued, "I want to ask the EC that BJP MP Janardhan Mishra openly said that he himself verified 1,000-1,000 fake votes by going to every house. I have also tweeted the video of this. Similarly, BJP minister Anurag Thakur has publicly spoken about the increase in votes in Rae Bareli. Both these facts prove that the BJP itself is admitting the irregularities in the election process." He further said that whatever claims of vote-theft were made by Rahul Gandhi have been repeated by BJP leaders, and the EC is also making the same arguments. "It is clear from this that this is not a political issue but a question of protecting democracy and the Constitution," Patwari said. "Efforts are being made to scare and intimidate Rahul Gandhi. He raised the questions for which the EC is asking for affidavits from Congress leaders, whereas it should itself give an affidavit before the people to ensure that this time there will be no vote theft. " Patwari said that the Congress party will hold a massive agitation and demonstration in the entire state from Aug 25 to Sept 5 on the issue of vote-theft. ‘Caste' in camaraderie: Small group meets stir state's political cauldron
Lucknow: Undergoing an uncharacteristically long period of lull, the cauldron of UP politics has suddenly been stirred by a series of 'caste-group' meetings of the state MLAs. It was first started by Thakur MLAs and was followed by the legislators from Lodh and Kurmi castes. Now, Brahmin MLAs, too, are planning their own 'summit'. "It's high time we should also sit and discuss future courses of action," a Brahmin MLA from Bundelkhand told TOI, adding that most MLAs agreed to the idea. During the just-concluded monsoon session of the state assembly, a group of Thakur MLAs across partyline were the first to meet under the banner of Kutumb Parivar at a starred hotel. It was followed by another one at a government-owned hotel. Though smaller in size, the meeting was hosted by tourism minister Jaiveer Singh. Even as political pundits began analyzing the purpose of these two meetings, Kurmi MLAs also assembled under the banner of Sardar Patel Vaicharik Manch. And so did Lodhs. Interestingly, Bharti has been making all efforts to make a comeback in mainstream politics for a long time now. In fact, Lodhs also held a meeting in Delhi on Sunday. It was attended by several BJP MLAs, including Vipin Verma David, Brijbhushan Rajput and MP Sakshi Maharaj. The meeting was held to mark the birth anniversary of Avanti Bai Lodhi. However, issues plaguing the uplift of the Lodh community did come up at the meeting, BJP MLA from Charkhari, Brijbhushan Rajput said. He added such issues are being raised at proper platforms to make BJP leadership aware about the problems being faced by the Lodh community and not to damage the BJP's growth. At no place in the country, a Lodh is a state chief or a deputy chief minister, Rajput said and added all these issues did come up during the meeting which was open to all unlike closed-door meetings by other castes hinting towards Thakurs' 'Kutumb Parivar' meeting at a hotel in Lucknow. Even though there were no set agenda for most of these meetings, they have left the political pundits decoding their purpose. A political observer said that a few years ago the votes in UP would be divided into big chunks like OBC, upper castes, dalits and Muslims. "However, by early 2000s, it got divided further into sub-castes among OBCs like MBCs (most backward castes) and EBCs or extremely backward castes, Jatavs and non-Jatav Dalits, besides the upper castes. While Yadavs were dominant among OBCs, now Kurmis, Rajbhars and Nishads are also trying to assert their own identities," he says. "Such meetings are generally done by those castes which have achieved something politically and have become powerful by showing their strength," another observer said and added but then "yeh dil maange more", and hence more such meetings. Whether such meetings will benefit leaders of these castes or not can be a matter of debate, what is certain that such meetings along with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav's PDA (Picchhada, Dalit and Alpsankhyak) narrative and drifting of certain OBC castes from the BJP as seen in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, has put a brake on the Sangh Parivar's bid to bring all castes under one giant umbrella of Hindutva. "Such meetings will dent the BJP's ideological narrative that all OBCs, Dalits and upper castes are Hindus first," senior journalist Rata Mani Lal said. "In fact, it would be a challenge for the BJP to promote itself as the apex Hindu party electorally. In the current situation the party will have to reinvent itself if it has to remain relevant electorally," Lal further said and added the trigger for such caste-based meetings is definitely Akhilesh's PDA narrative. It is for the first time that any party has used caste and community symbols so openly, he further said and added that Bahujan Samaj Party did try it earlier but the party instead of being a party of majority (bahujan) ended up being a party of Dalits. PDA is perhaps for the first time being used as a symbol of inclusion of some specific social group by a political party, Lal said and added it is a trigger for such meetings which in turn will end up as compulsion for other parties to follow.
