Bihar gets new 6-lane Aunta–Simaria Bridge on Ganga: Rs 1,871 crore project to ease pressure on Gandhi Setu

Bihar gets boost: NHAI completes 6-lane Ganga Bridge on NH-31, reducing travel distance by 150 km The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) successfully completed the Aunta (Mokama) – Simaria (Begusarai) Bridge Project on National Highway-31. The 8.15 km long project, built at an estimated cost of Rs 1,871 crore, features a 6-lane extra-dosed bridge over the Ganga River with 4-lane approach roads. The new structure, constructed parallel to the aging Rajendra Setu, provides a safer and more efficient route for heavy vehicles. It establishes a direct high-capacity link between North and South Bihar, improving connectivity, cutting travel distances, and ensuring smoother freight movement. A major relief will come for travelers on routes such as Gandhi Setu, which has long been burdened by high traffic. With the new bridge, the travel distance for freight and heavy vehicle traffic between North Bihar districts like Begusarai, Supaul, Madhubani, and Araria, and South Bihar regions including Sheikhpura, Nawada, and Lakhisarai, will reduce by nearly 150 kilometers. Officials said the project is expected to boost economic growth in surrounding districts by strengthening logistics, trade, and market access. It will also enhance connectivity to Simaria Dham, a revered pilgrimage site and the birthplace of noted Hindi poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar. Key project details: Executing Agency: National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) Project Length: 8.15 km Estimated Cost: Rs 1,871 crore Scope: 6-lane extra-dosed bridge with 4-lane approach roads Status: Completed

‘Yachna nahin, ab rann hoga': How Army used powerful music and visuals to deliver their message post Operation Sindoor

NEW DELHI: After decimating nine terrorist hotspots in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir under Operation Sindoor on May 7, the Indian armed forces had delivered a powerful message through videos showcasing military prowess, accompanied by an upbeat rendition of Ramdhari Singh Dinkar's Rashmirathi. The videos, which rocked media briefings, were produced in-house by the Social Media Section of the Indian Army 's Additional Directorate General of Strategic Communication, sources told news agency PTI. The songs were carefully chosen, each selected to match the content and theme of the operation, they added. "The song was specially composed using specific lines relevant to the theme. The rock music style was chosen for its dramatic effect. The song was created by an in-house team using the latest available technology," a source in the defence establishment told PTI. "The message intended to be conveyed through the music and videos was that the Indian Army is prepared, ready, and capable of using decisive force against India's adversaries," they added. "Those with nefarious designs against the nation should not lose sight of the Indian Army's might, reach, and valour," another source in the defence establishment said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Gusa: Scholarships You Can Apply For (Start Now) College Scholarship | Google Search Search Now The lines played during the briefing were: 'Jab naash manuj par chhata hai, pehle vivek mar jaata hai' (When destruction awaits, good sense is the first to die) 'Hit vachan nahin tune maana, maitri ka moolya na pehchana/ Toh le main bhi ab jaata hun, antim sankalp sunata hun/ Yachna nahin ab rann hoga, jeewan jay ya ki maran hoga' (You did not listen to good counsel, did not appreciate the value of friendship/ So I am leaving now, here's my final resolve/ No more imploring, now there will be combat, the triumph of life, or there will be death) Responding to a query about the poem's choice and message, Air Marshal AK Bharti said that he would answer with a few lines from Tulsidas' Ramcharitmanas: "Binay na maane jaladhi jadh, bhay teen din beet/ Bole Ram sakop tab, Bhay bin hoye na preet" (The ocean remained unmoved by humble requests; three days passed. Then Lord Rama, with rising anger, declared: Without fear, there can be no love) Meanwhile, a poster of operation Sindoor was also rolled out with a small bowl carrying vermilion (worn by married Hindu women) forming the first 'O' of the second word while the second 'O' had a dash of the powder around it. According to Defence minister Rajnath Singh, the name of the operation was suggested by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 'Operation Sindoor was named by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. What you all accomplished during this operation has made every Indian proud. It took just 23 minutes for the Indian Air Force to dismantle the terrorism being harboured in Pakistan. You eliminated the enemies in the time it takes people to finish their breakfast,' Rajnath said during his interaction with the soldiers. Operation Sindoor was launched in response to the brutal April 22 massacre in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, where 26 civilians were killed in an attack claimed by The Resistance Front, a Lashkar-e-Taiba offshoot. In retaliation, New Delhi carried out nine deep-penetration strikes, neutralized a retaliatory drone swarm from Pakistan, and targeted six military airbases and UAV command hubs. In parallel, India's armed forces showcased their ability to defend airspace, deploy indigenous weapons systems, and apply multi-domain capabilities, including electronic and cyber warfare.

Kiren Rijiju's Couplet Post On X Gets Pawan Khera's ‘Message For Boss' Query

Last Updated: In a post on X, Kiren Rijiju took a poetic jibe at Congress with a reference from Ramdhari Singh Dinkar's Rashmirathi. BJP vs Congress: Amid the ongoing political slugfest between the Congress and the BJP over Rahul Gandhi's allegations that the government had pre-informed Pakistan about Operation Sindoor, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Monday took a veiled jibe at the grand old party with Pawan Khera hitting back at the government. In a post on X, Rijiju took a poetic jibe at Congress with a reference from Ramdhari Singh Dinkar's Rashmirathi. In the post, Rijiju quoted Rashmirathi and said, ' Jab naash manuj par aata hai, pehle vivek mar jata hai" (When doom descends upon a man, his reason is the first to perish). 'जब नाश मनुज पर छाता है, पहले विवेक मर जाता है"- रामधारी सिंह दिनकर की एक प्रसिद्ध कविता की पंक्ति। इसका अर्थ है कि जब व्यक्ति पर विनाश की स्थिति आ जाती है, तो उसका विवेक पहले ही नष्ट हो जाता है।— Kiren Rijiju (@KirenRijiju) May 19, 2025 'A famous line from a poem by Ramdhari Singh Dinkar. It means that when a person faces a state of destruction, their reason is already destroyed," he added. Senior Congress leader Pawan Khera responded to Rijiju questioning his cryptic post. 'Why are you sending a message to your own boss through Twitter, brother?" Khera replied. अपने ही बॉस को ट्विटर के माध्यम से संदेश क्यों दे रहे हो बंधु? — Pawan Khera 🇮🇳 (@Pawankhera) May 19, 2025 The Lok Sabha LoP on Saturday shared an undated video of EAM Jaishankar in which he was heard saying that at the start of Operation Sindoor, a message was sent to Pakistan that only terror bases were being struck. While sharing the video, Gandhi wrote, 'Informing Pakistan at the start of our attack was a crime. EAM has publicly admitted that GOI (government of India) did it. Who authorised it? How many aircraft did our air force lose as a result." On Monday, Gandhi launched a fresh attack on EAM saying his silence on the number of aircraft India 'lost" after Pakistan was 'informed" about the military action under Operation Sindoor is 'damning". BJP Responds To Rahul Gandhi Union minister Pralhad Joshi attacked Gandhi saying he misquoted the MEA. 'Rahul Gandhi seems to have learned nothing from his past mistakes. He continues to disrespect the Nation's Armed Forces by questioning how many jets were lost — despite clear statements from the IAF and MEA confirming there were no asset losses. 'He misquotes the MEA, even though the DGMO clarified in his May 11 briefing that India had made efforts to communicate with its counterparts. Is the Congress party truly serious about supporting the nation? Their actions suggest otherwise," Joshi said in a post on X. Centre's Stand The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has also said that a statement on the timing of Pakistan being informed was being falsely represented. 'We had warned Pakistan at the start, which is clearly the early phase after Operation Sindoor's commencement. This is being falsely represented as being before the commencement. This utter misrepresentation of facts is being called out," the MEA had said. Operation Sindoor India launched 'precision strikes" under Operation Sindoor on nine terror targets in Pakistan and PoK following the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians. The strikes killed at least 10 family members of JeM chief Masood Azhar and four close aides. First Published:
