Based on the CCTV footage analyzed by police: 4:35 AM – The burglars forced entry by cutting through an iron window grill and immediately made their way to Justice Garg's son Ritvik's room. 4:36 AM – While one criminal stood guard, the other two began breaking open a cupboard lock. 4:37 AM – The lock broke, triggering the alarm; yet, Ritvik remained asleep, completely oblivious to the break-in. 4:38 AM – The burglars calmly removed cash and jewellery from the cupboard. 4:39 AM – The suspects left the room and exited the house, completing the entire robbery in shockingly little time. — Incognito_qfs (@Incognito_qfs) Adding to the audacity, Ritvik's wife and children were asleep in an adjacent room, and a security guard was present but did not detect or stop the thieves. ‘Playing asleep saved life it seems': Masked thieves rob home, one stands over sleeping owner with iron rod in MP
A gang of masked, armed burglars carried out a daring break-in at the residence of retired judge Justice Ramesh Garg in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, stealing cash and valuables worth lakhs, police confirmed on Wednesday. The chilling incident occurred on the night of Raksha Bandhan, reports said. Justice Garg, a former Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court, and his family were reportedly asleep during the robbery and remained unaware until the burglars had fled. In the CCTV footage, three intruders, masked, gloved, and carrying an iron rod, can be seen entering the home. One entered the judge's bedroom and stood closely near Justice Garg, who was asleep, ready to attack with a rod in case he woke up. Meanwhile, a second burglar searched through drawers and cupboards, as a third kept watch outside. The entire burglary lasted nearly 20 minutes. 'If he was aware and still chose to sleep, then good job he saved his life and his family,' a user wrote. 'No one would sleep through so much noise. He just acted like he was sleeping and didn't move, because he knew he would be attacked!!' another user commented. 'The guy was holding a small ice so the scenario would have been that he told the person to lie down like that or he will be killed,' a third user reacted. 'Playing asleep saved life it seems,' a fourth user said. 'This was clearly a highly organized group. The way they executed the robbery shows professional planning and coordination,' Umakant Choudhary, a senior police official, was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times. 'Given the seriousness of the crimes, we have formed multiple teams to look into the matter. Preliminary investigations suggest that this gang has been involved in similar incidents in the past,' he added. Vijay Nagar police have registered a case and launched a probe. Authorities are currently analysing CCTV footage from multiple locations to trace the suspects, the report stated.

A retired judge's kin was spared his life but not valuable belongings as he slept through a daring heist where thieves stole jewellery and cash worth lakhs from a retired judge's home in Indore. The undated video shows one thief looming over a sleeping member of the household with a possible weapon in his hand, ready to strike if he wakes up from his sleep. The other thief meanwhile was seen stealing valuables from the almirah. The video was shared on X by popular faceless account @Incognito_qfs who said that there was another criminal involved. It also said that it was retired Justice Ramesh Garg's home that was targeted. The video showed that despite a loud ringing alarm, the resident did not wake up. The faceless account in the caption wrote: 'They would have killed Justice Garg's son (in the video) if he had woken up. Fortunately, he kept sleeping despite the loud alarm. Security Guard was also sleeping".
