Trent Alexander-Arnold hit by rule and Real Madrid 'ban' after Liverpool move

Trent Alexander-Arnold will report back to Real Madrid for the Club World Cup after England duty, but he will be greeted by a couple of different rules from his time at Liverpool Trent Alexander-Arnold may have completed his move to Real Madrid but will face two issues at his new club. The former Liverpool star will link up with Xabi Alonso's side after the international break. The 26-year-old featured as a second-half substitute as England recorded a turgid 1-0 win over Andorra to take another step towards World Cup qualification. Given that Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones played at right-back on Saturday, Alexander-Arnold could replace him for England's friendly with Senegal on Tuesday. ‌ It is set to be a busy summer for Alexander-Arnold, who was confirmed as a Real player a month early to play for Los Blancos at the upcoming Club World Cup. However, he will soon face two fresh issues in Madrid: his favoured No. 66 shirt is unavailable and he cannot drive his preferred car to training. ‌ Alexander-Arnold wore No. 66 on the back of his shirt throughout his Liverpool career. Breaking into the team as an academy graduate, the full-back chose to stick with his unusual shirt number. His success in a Liverpool shirt didn't prompt him to change to a more conventional number for a first team regular, even after winning major honours with his boyhood club. However, he will not be able to continue that trend in the Spanish capital. This is because La Liga rules insist that no first team player is allowed a shirt number higher than No. 25. Only youth players are allowed to wear shirt numbers higher than that, with fellow defender Raul Asencio (No. 35) being one of the few exceptions last season. Real Madrid veteran Dani Carvajal holds the conventional No. 2 for a right-back. Regarding Alexander-Arnold's available options, he has No. 12, No. 24 and No. 25 to choose from based on this season. The transfer market could further impact his options before the start of next term. Moreover, Luka Modric (No. 10), Lucas Vasquez (No. 17) and Jesus Vallejo (No. 18) are all set to reach the end of their contracts after this summer's Club World Cup. ‌ Whichever number Alexander-Arnold chooses, he will have to make another compromise in terms of how he gets to training. During his time at Liverpool, the defender often travelled to the club's AXA Training Centre in his Range Rover P530. Although the car model is no longer available to buy in the UK, the luxury SUV was previously priced at £130,000. It boasts a 4.4 V8 twin-turbo engine with 530 horsepower and can reach a top speed of 155mph. Unfortunately, he will be unable to show his preferred motor to his new Real team-mates due to the club's commercial deal with BMW. As part of the sponsorship agreement, players are banned from driving any other brand of car to training, according to Spanish outlet El Motor. The deal only includes electric and hybrid vehicles, which are later sold as pre-owned by BMW. However, the good news for Alexander-Arnold is that he can take his pick free of charge. ‌ Both Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe have opted for the BMW XM, which usually costs around £152k. Meanwhile, Vinicius Junior went for the slightly more expensive BMW i7 M70 xDrive, which is priced at around £157k. Alexander-Arnold was announced as a Real player at the beginning of this month after the club reached a £10million deal with Liverpool for the full-back to end his contract a month early. He was due to arrive as a free agent at the end of his Reds deal, but Real stumped up £8.4m plus another £1.6m to cover his remaining salary so he'd be available for the Club World Cup. Real are set to begin their Club World Cup campaign against Al-Hilal on June 18. The Spanish giants also have group games against Mexican side Pachuca and Red Bull Salzburg. The tournament is scheduled to last until July 13.

Trent Alexander-Arnold dealt instant Real Madrid blow after training ground ban

Trent Alexander-Arnold has a busy summer ahead, with the Club World Cup on the horizon with Real Madrid once he has left international duty - but there is a quirk he will have to get used to Trent Alexander-Arnold is earning £220,000-a-week at Real Madrid – but those wages come with some strings attached. Alexander-Arnold has signed a six-year contract with Real after leaving his boyhood club Liverpool at the end of the season and will don the famous shirt for the first time soon. Real paid Liverpool an £8.4million fee to sign the right-back before his contract expired at the end of June so that he can play in the Club World Cup. It's a good deal for Alexander-Arnold, who will be in line for a €1m (£843,000) bonus if Real lift the trophy on July 13. ‌ It's been a profitable time for Alexander-Arnold, who is currently away with England ahead of World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Senegal, and who will swap Merseyside for Madrid this summer once the Club World Cup is out of the way. Once he has settled in, Alexander-Arnold will have to get used to one of the quirks that come with playing for Real. ‌ The Spanish giants have a deal with car manufacturer BMW which means the players are only allowed to drive their models to the training ground. It means that Alexander-Arnold's favoured Range Rover P530, which he often drove into Liverpool's Kirkby base, won't be allowed. His favourite car retails for £130,000 and it remains to be seen whether he will bring it with him from England to Spain. Thankfully, he will be equipped with a new model by BMW, who kit out the Real Madrid squad, as well as the women's team and basketball team, with cars to use throughout the season. BMW only offer plug-in hybrid and electric models, which they then sell off as pre-owned models later on. Alexander-Arnold could therefore opt for a sporty BMW XM, which is a common sight at the gates of Real's training ground every morning. Kylian Mbappe and Alexander Arnold's England team-mate Jude Bellingham drive that model, which has 653 horsepower and costs around £152,000. Meanwhile, Vinícius Junior opted for the BMW i7 M70 xDrive, which costs £157,000. There is a similar deal in place at Bayern Munich, who have close ties with Audi, and only allow their players to drive their cars. Bayern have been sponsored by the German car manufacturer since 2002, with the brand also owning 8.33 per cent of the club, and they fine players who fall foul of the rules. In Bavaria, players are reportedly allowed to drive Bentleys, Bugattis and Porches, because they are part of the Volkswagen group, but there are punishments for promoting other brands. Winger Kingsley Coman was reportedly fined £43,500 for driving his McLaren to training instead of his Audi.

The England international officially became a part of Los Blancos on Sunday, penning a six-year contract after departing from his childhood club Liverpool as a free agent. The Premier League champions received an £8.4million fee for the 26 year old to release him early from his contract, as Real Madrid were eager for him to join their squad in time for the Club World Cup later this month. ‌ However, as Alexander-Arnold gets familiar with the rest of Xabi Alonso's team, he will have to say goodbye to the car model he's been driving around the UK. One of Alexander-Arnold's favourite vehicles to drive had been a Range Rover P530. ‌ His luxury SUV boasted a 4.4 V8 twin-turbo engine that delivered 530 horsepower and a maximum torque of 750 Nm. His version of the model, which is no longer available to purchase, was priced by Land Rover at £130,000. Equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive system, it could propel its more than 2.5 tonnes from 0 to 100km/h in 2.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 155mph, reports the Liverpool Echo. This is due to Real Madrid's sponsorship agreement with BMW, which prevents players from driving any other brand of car to training, according to Spanish outlet El Motor. Annually, the German car producer equips Real Madrid players across the men's and women's football teams as well as the basketball squad with vehicles to utilise during the season. Included in this arrangement are only the plug-in hybrid and electric models, which BMW eventually markets as pre-owned. Despite any potential letdown for Alexander-Arnold, he's set to continue enjoying a top-tier SUV similar to his present vehicle, completely on the house. For instance, the BMW XM, known for its sporty edge, is favoured within the team. Vinicius Junior, on the other hand, went for the marginally more expensive BMW i7 M70 xDrive, retailing at £157,000. Alexander-Arnold has seamlessly transitioned into his new milieu, marking his debut public outing as a player for Los Blancos at Barcelona's Spanish Grand Prix. In attendance, he networked with club icon Roberto Carlos and even shared a photo op with him. Even off the pitch, the Liverpool academy product expressed eagerness for his next venture, responding affirmatively to Real's social media announcement heralding new manager Alonso with "El Jefe" – the Spanish phrase for 'the boss'.
