'I Started Shivering': Amruta Subhash Recalls Terrifying Scene With Ranveer Singh

Last Updated: Amruta Subhash opens up about a scary Gully Boy shoot with Ranveer Singh in Dharavi, revealing she was terrified by the wild crowd chasing their vehicle. Amruta Subhash, known for her powerful role in Gully Boy, recently opened up about what she calls 'one of the scariest days" of her life—while shooting a scene with Ranveer Singh in Mumbai's Dharavi. In a candid interview with Bollywood Bubble, the National Award-winning actor described filming a sequence where she and Ranveer were seated in the back of a tempo, driving through the densely populated neighborhood. Though the scene appears simple on screen, the shoot was anything but. 'As soon as our tempo entered the center of Dharavi, people started pouring out of buildings and running behind us," Amruta recalled. 'It wasn't a fast vehicle, and I started shivering. The energy of the crowd was wild—not just excitement, but something chaotic and unpredictable." The scene marked the first time Amruta and Ranveer shot outside of a controlled set environment, and the tension was palpable. With Padmaavat having just released at the time, Ranveer Singh was at the peak of his stardom. Amruta revealed that the crowd was not just reacting to the film shoot but to Ranveer's celebrity presence, which added to the frenzy. 'Ranveer saw I was scared. He held my hand and asked, 'Amruta, are you okay?' He told me not to worry and reminded me that his bouncers were around. He was very comforting." She emphasized that large crowds can carry a 'wild energy"—not always positive and often unpredictable. 'Mob ki energy wild hoti hai… usme ek veheshiyat bhi hoti hai (There's a certain savagery to mob energy)," she said. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, Gully Boy (2019) starred Ranveer Singh as Murad, an aspiring rapper from Dharavi, alongside Alia Bhatt, Kalki Koechlin, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Vijay Raaz. The film was inspired by real-life Mumbai rappers DIVINE and Naezy, and co-produced by Tiger Baby Films and Excel Entertainment, with American rapper Nas serving as executive producer. Murder accused from Karauli heldafter living as ‘sadhu' for 35 years

Jaipur: A man accused of murder who managed to evade arrest for 35 years by living as a 'sadhu' has finally been held by the Karauli police. The accused, 67-year-old Ranveer Jat from Dindhora village in Karauli district, was wanted in connection with a 1989 murder case and was on the run since 1991, after being released on bail. He was arrested Friday from Barsana in Uttar Pradesh, where he was living under a false identity as a saint named Ramkishan Dasji. Police said that Ranveer changed his appearance and adopted the life of a wandering holy man shortly after securing bail. He moved from one religious site to another, spending time in Govardhan, Banaras, Junagadh, Himachal Pradesh, and Haryana. Over the years, he built a small following of around 25 to 30 disciples, all while staying out of the reach of police. Despite being a fugitive, he was known to occasionally visit his family. The arrest was made by a special team formed under Karauli SP Brijesh Jyoti Upadhyay and led by Hindon City CO Giridhar Singh. The team conducted an extensive search in various temples across Banaras, Mathura, Vrindavan, and Barsana for five days before identifying and arresting him. The murder case dates back to March 22, 1989, when Maan Singh Kumhar filed a complaint at Kotwali Hindon police station in Karauli alleging that his father Rambharosi Prajapat and younger brother Vijay Singh were assaulted by Ranveer Jat and others during a dispute at a govt well. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo The accused then attacked the family's house and Rambharosi was critically injured with a sharp weapon. He later died on the way to the hospital. Ranveer was arrested soon after but granted bail in 1991. He disappeared shortly after and never appeared for court hearings, even after a conviction order was issued on Oct 31, 2017. A recent tip-off led police to Barsana, where Ranveer was living at the Jalmahal temple. He was produced before a court and sent to judicial custody.
