IB Nation Sports Talk: Boston College Insider Dan Rubin Talks Bill O'Brian, BC Quarterbacks
Irish Breakdown continues our offseason Notre Dame opponent series with Boston College insider Dan Rubin on today's show. Rubin and IB's Sean Stires discuss BC head coach Bill O'Brien heading into his second season as well as how the BC quarterback competition looks after the addition of former Alabama QB Dylan Lonergan. They discuss other questions the Eagles face as well as how ND defensive line coach and BC alum Al Washington factored in the coaching search before O'Brien was hired. There's much more to talk about in Rapid Fire as well. See the list of topics below! Today's Rapid Fire topics include: Advertisement * We discuss the announcement that Notre Dame men's basketball alum Pat Garrity will be the general manager for both the Irish men's and women's basketball programs. * We've talked a lot about the future of the Notre Dame - Southern Cal football series recently and there's more in the news on that subject. One of USC's suggested alterations to the Notre Dame series is playing it on the front end of the schedule, potentially with some neutral-site locations sprinkled in among games at each other's homes. Do we Buy or Sell those possibilities? * There's an ON3 video show that's asking if the expansion of the CFP to 16 teams would force Notre Dame to join a conference. Someone asked them 'if non-conference games stop mattering, what happens to the team that only schedules non-conference games. Is this the straw that breaks the camel's back to make Notre Dame join a conference?' We have thoughts on that. * The College Football Playoff is nearing consensus to change the seeding process next season and eliminate first-round byes for conference champions. ACC commissioner Jim Phillips said recently that he's in favor of going to straight seeding for this year rather than the seeding format they had last year. That would also mean Notre Dame would be eligible for a first-round bye. The proposal requires unanimous approval from the 10 FBS conferences and Notre Dame to be enacted for the upcoming season. On a scale of 1 to 10: How confident are you it will actually happen? Advertisement * The NFL is going to vote on a new straight seeding playoff proposal this week. It would de-emphasize winning your division and incentivize winning for teams to host playoff games. So, if you're a wildcard team with a better record than a divisional winner, you would get to host a playoff game instead of the division winner. Do you Buy or Sell it? * NFL owners will vote on whether to allow NFL players to compete in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. There would be A limit of one player per NFL team on each national team participating. In other words, the Bears could have one player on Team USC, one player on Team Canada, etc. Buy or Sell NFL players playing flag football in the Olympics? When Ranbir Kapoor Said Anushka Sharma Is A 'Good Kisser', Hinted At Virat Kohli: 'Somebody Is Lucky'
Last Updated: Ranbir Kapoor once said he wanted to kiss Anushka Sharma 'more' in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. A clip of Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma, straight from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil promotions is going viral on the internet; In a fun Rapid Fire round with Bollywood Hungama, Ranbir was asked to pick who's a better kisser between Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai, both of whom starred in the Karan Johar film. Without missing a beat, he said, 'I would have really liked to kiss Anushka more (in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil). She's a damn good kisser. Somebody is lucky." Interestingly, at the time of the interview, Anushka was dating cricketer Virat Kohli but hadn't made their relationship public yet—something Ranbir subtly hinted at. The following year, Anushka and Virat tied the knot in a beautiful wedding in Italy attended by close family and friends. His candid reply won him the Rapid Fire round hands down, and Anushka couldn't help but joke, 'He should be penalised for that answer," sharing a laugh over his honesty. Fans also recalled the sizzling chemistry between Ranbir and Anushka in the theatrical trailer of Bombay Velvet, where their intense kissing scenes were almost completely toned down by the censors, taking away much of the original impact. Anushka Sharma and Ranbir Kapoor's playful chemistry was a major highlight during the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil promotions in 2016. In another chat with Mastiii, they shared some honest and fun insights about their friendships and relationships. During one hilarious moment, Ranbir had revealed a surprising fact — Anushka is the 'champion" at friend-zoning people! Ranbir went on to say that one of Anushka's actor friends had actually fallen for her, but she had friend-zoned him. Anushka was caught off guard by this, but she explained her perspective. Growing up in an army family—her father served in the army—she was used to having male friends. For her, it was natural to connect with both boys and girls, and she never viewed friendships based on gender. Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli's children, Vamika and Akaay, were born on January 11, 2021, and February 15, 2024, respectively. Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt got married in April 2022 in an intimate ceremony. In November 2022, the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, Raha Kapoor. First Published:
