"Let Us Live In Peace": Revanth Reddy To Andhra Over Irrigation Projects

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Saturday urged Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to allow Telangana's crucial irrigation projects to proceed, while simultaneously issuing a stark warning of confrontation if his pleas go unheard. Mr Reddy underscored the vital importance of projects such as the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme, along with Dindi, Kalwakurthy, Bheema, Nettempadu, and Koilsagar for Telangana's development. He urged his Andhra counterpart to act responsibly and not obstruct the initiatives. "Let us live in peace," he said. The Telangana Chief Minister warned that if Andhra Pradesh continues to obstruct Telangana's water interests, particularly by not withdrawing the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Project, Telangana would be prepared to fight for its rights. He highlighted that the Rayalaseema project, which reportedly diverts 3 TMCs of water daily from the Krishna River, poses a significant threat to Telangana's water availability. Mr Reddy also recalled that many irrigation projects, particularly Bhima and Nettempadu in the undivided Mahabubnagar district, were inaugurated during Mr Naidu's tenure as the Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh. "How can he justify obstructing the very projects that were initiated during his tenure as Chief Minister and whose works began when he was Leader of the Opposition in undivided Andhra Pradesh?" Mr Reddy questioned, urging the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister to show magnanimity and support the completion of the long-delayed irrigation works. The Telangana Chief Minister also criticised former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), accusing him of neglecting the Palamuru projects during his tenure and spending a large amount of money on the Kaleshwaram project - which he claimed had become defunct. Mr Reddy asserted his commitment to lead the battle for Telangana's water rights and confidently stated his intention to remain Chief Minister until 2034. He also mentioned his government's achievements, including filling 60,000 government jobs in the first year and attracting significant investments through overseas tours.

Revanth urges Naidu to cancel R'seema Lift Irrigation Project

Hyderabad/Nagarkurnool: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has appealed to his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu to cancel the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Project and instead support the Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation scheme considering the challenges facing the people of Palamuru district. Addressing a public meeting on Friday at Jatrapole after laying the foundation stones for a slew of developmental works in Nagarkurnool district, the Chief Minister said that the AP Chief Minister, being in a responsible position, should help the people of Palumuru to overcome their problems and lead a happy life. Since the Palamuru Lift Irrigation Scheme was a lifeline for the local people, the Chief Minister sought the cooperation of Chandrababu to complete the project without creating any hurdles. 'We are appealing to AP to help Telangana in the completion of the Palamuru project and cancel the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Scheme', the Chief Minister said, while sounding a warning: 'Palamuru people know how to fight and achieve their rights if the AP government is reluctant to accept their pleas.' In a vitriolic attack on former chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, Revanth Reddy held the previous BRS government responsible for not completing the projects in Palamuru district. The CM said: 'KCR abandoned Palamuru projects, including the Palamuru Rangareddy project, during his 10-year regime. Kalwakurthy, Nettempadu, and Bima projects were left in the lurch. The former CM has completed only the Kaleshwaram project with Rs 1 lakh crore and the project became 'Kuleshwaram' in just three years.' The Chief Minister highlighted the state government's efforts to complete all pending projects in the next two years. Palamuru would not have faced drought conditions had the KCR government completed the projects, he averred. The Chief Minister recalled how Palamuru people admired KCR and gave him a big mandate by electing the BRS leader as the Lok Sabha MP. The former CM deceived Valmiki Boya community by not including them in the ST community list, despite several appeals from the community, Revanth Reddy said. Revanth asked: 'Why is KCR feeling sad after the son of Palamuru became Chief Minister of the Telangana State and is striving to continue as CM for 20 years with an aim to develop the most backward Palamauru district?' The Chief Minister lambasted KCR for targeting the people's government which had been fulfilling the promises made to the farming community. 'Within 9 days, the state government deposited Rs 9,000 crore in the farmers' accounts under Rythu Bharosa.' Asserting that he will be the Chief Minister of Telangana from Palamuru until 2034, Revanth Reddy said that the government had already filled more than 60,000 jobs in the government sector. One lakh jobs will be filled before the completion of two and half years of the 'people's government', he underlined.

Andhra CM Naidu neglected Rayalaseema region: YSRCP

Amaravati, Senior YSRCP leader G Srikanth Reddy on Friday alleged that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had neglected the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh, and said that only former CMs YS Rajasekhar Reddy and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had worked for its upliftment. Andhra CM Naidu neglected Rayalaseema region: YSRCP Addressing a press conference in Kurnool, the YSRCP leader alleged that Naidu is making false claims to take credit for the Rayalaseema region. "Naidu has been neglecting Rayalaseema since long and has been unabashedly making false claims by trying to take credit which is not due," Reddy said. According to the YSRCP leader, Naidu had issued an order back in 1998 to reduce the capacity of Handri-Neeva project and convert it into a drinking water project. After "dislodging" NT Rama Rao, who conceived Telugu Ganga, Handri-Neeva, and Galeru Nagari projects, Naidu never took them forward as it was not his priority, he alleged. It was only after Rajasekhar Reddy had assumed office that the irrigation works began in the parched Rayalaseema region and he reverted the GO issued by Naidu to increase the capacity of the Handri-Neeva and Galeru-Nagari projects back to 40 TMC from 5 TMC, he said. During Jagan Mohan Reddy's term between 2019 and 2024, he had taken forward irrigation projects worth ₹40,300 crore and also the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Project, which was nearly completed at a cost of ₹800 crore, he said. Further, he alleged that Naidu had relegated the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Project stating that there was no environmental license. The TDP chief is bringing up the Polavaram-Banakacherla project to 'show off', he claimed. Naidu's interest is only in mobilising advances and kickbacks, alleged Reddy, adding that it was Jagan Mohan Reddy who had provided drinking water to Kuppam. There was no immediate reaction from the TDP. This article was generated from an automated news agency feed without modifications to text.

Revanth asks Naidu to stop Rayalaseema LIP, not come in the way of Palamuru-RR project

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy appealed to his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N. Chandrababu Naidu to cancel the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Project and not obstruct the Palamuru-Rangareddy project. 'If appeals don't work, we, as the children of Palamuru, know how to fight for our rights,' he warned, adding that at any cost, Palamuru, which was neglected in the past, would be developed. In an emotional tone, he said that 'Palamuru's son' is now the Chief Minister and would take care of its development by fighting against all odds. Addressing the 'Praja Palana - Pragati Bata' public meeting in Jataprolu of Nagarkurnool district, he accused former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao of betraying the aspirations of the people of Palamuru during his decade-long rule. 'Palamuru sent KCR to Parliament depite his political migration from Karimnagar but not a single time, he raised his voice in Parliament for the disrict.' He criticised KCR for abandoning critical irrigation projects such as Palamuru-Rangareddy, Kalwakurthy, Nettempadu, and Bheema. 'KCR spent a lakh of crores on Kaleshwaram, which turned defunct within three years. A few thousands of crores on the pending projects would have been more useful for Telangana but KCR had other intentions,' he alleged and promised to complete these long-pending projects within the next two years. Till 2034 Mr. Revanth Reddy also alleged that KCR was unable to digest that 'Palamuru's son' was ruling the State and exuded confidence that the same person would continue to lead the State till 2034. Highlighting his government's achievements, Mr. Revanth Reddy said 24 hours of free power to farmers, waiver of ₹21,000 crore worth of farm loans in the first year itself and ₹9,000 crore for Rythu Bharosa within nine days were welfare schemes that opposition parties failed to notice. He also took pride in his government providing ₹344 crore worth of interest-free loans to 3.52 lakh self-help groups across Telangana. Specifically, in the Kolhapur constituency, ₹6.33 crore was given to 2,671 groups, and ₹41.61 crore was extended to 570 groups. He reiterated the government's efforts to support women through various initiatives — Amma Adarsh Schools, Indira Mahila Shakti canteens, and empowering them through petrol bunks and solar plants to compete with industrial giants. Patriarchal mindset Taking a swipe at KCR's alleged patriarchal mindset, he alleged that the BRS chief thought girls belonged to kitchens while the Congress was turning them into entrepreneurs and owners. Earlier, the CM laid the foundation for the Young India Integrated Residential School in Jataprolu and promised that within a year and a half it would be completed. He also offered prayers at the Madanagopala Swamy temple.
