"Let Us Live In Peace": Revanth Reddy To Andhra Over Irrigation Projects
Mr Reddy underscored the vital importance of projects such as the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme, along with Dindi, Kalwakurthy, Bheema, Nettempadu, and Koilsagar for Telangana's development. He urged his Andhra counterpart to act responsibly and not obstruct the initiatives.
"Let us live in peace," he said.
The Telangana Chief Minister warned that if Andhra Pradesh continues to obstruct Telangana's water interests, particularly by not withdrawing the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Project, Telangana would be prepared to fight for its rights. He highlighted that the Rayalaseema project, which reportedly diverts 3 TMCs of water daily from the Krishna River, poses a significant threat to Telangana's water availability.
Mr Reddy also recalled that many irrigation projects, particularly Bhima and Nettempadu in the undivided Mahabubnagar district, were inaugurated during Mr Naidu's tenure as the Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh.
"How can he justify obstructing the very projects that were initiated during his tenure as Chief Minister and whose works began when he was Leader of the Opposition in undivided Andhra Pradesh?" Mr Reddy questioned, urging the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister to show magnanimity and support the completion of the long-delayed irrigation works.
The Telangana Chief Minister also criticised former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), accusing him of neglecting the Palamuru projects during his tenure and spending a large amount of money on the Kaleshwaram project - which he claimed had become defunct.
Mr Reddy asserted his commitment to lead the battle for Telangana's water rights and confidently stated his intention to remain Chief Minister until 2034. He also mentioned his government's achievements, including filling 60,000 government jobs in the first year and attracting significant investments through overseas tours.

Sharp escalation in U.S. tariffs will hit exporters in Karnataka, especially MSMEs: FKCCI
The Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FKCCI) on Thursday expressed serious concern over the decision by the United States to increase tariffs on certain imports from 25% to 50%. 'This sharp escalation in tariffs will significantly affect our exporters, particularly MSMEs, which form the backbone of India's industrial and manufacturing sectors,' Uma Reddy, senior vice-president, FKCCI, told The Hindu. With tighter margins and less room to absorb cost shocks, MSMEs were especially vulnerable to such policy shifts, she said, adding, 'the increased duties would make Indian goods less competitive in the U.S. market, potentially leading to a decline in export orders, disruptions in cash flow and a slowdown in production.'' However, Ms. Reddy said that the FKCCI also would like to consider this as a turning point for the Indian industry. Time to recalibrate 'Tariff hikes, while challenging, push our MSMEs to recalibrate and reduce dependency on a single market. We encourage our members to explore newer geographies, enhance product innovation, and invest in quality and compliance to meet diverse global standards,' she urged exporting MSMEs. According to Ms. Reddy, this situation brought out by Mr. Trump was an opportunity for India to assert its position as a reliable, agile, and value-driven manufacturing hub. 'We are confident that the Centre will engage proactively and negotiate with the U.S. administration in the days to come, before the new tariffs are implemented. A strategic dialogue at the right time can help safeguard Indian business interests, particularly for MSMEs,'' she said. Govt. help sought She also urged the government to support the exporters community through policy intervention, export incentives, and improved logistics and finance access. 'As an apex chamber committed to inclusive growth, FKCCI stood firm with MSMEs in Karnataka in navigating this evolving global trade landscape,' Ms. Reddy added.

Congress Betraying BCs, Shielding Corruption: BJP's Ramchandra Rao
Jangaon: BJP Telangana State President N. Ramchandra Rao launched a sharp attack on the Congress government during a BJP workers' gathering in Jangaon, accusing Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the Congress leadership of betraying Backward Classes (BCs), committing 420 frauds in the name of six guarantees), shielding corruption, and failing to deliver on promises made before the elections. Addressing party workers on Thursday, Rao demanded clarity from the Congress on whether it would implement the promised 42% reservation for BCs without dilution. 'Instead of giving a straight answer, they're deflecting with comparisons to Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh. We are not against Muslims receiving educational and employment reservations, but political reservations for Muslims will harm BCs,' he said. Rao cited the GHMC elections, where 50 divisions were reserved for BCs, but 35 seats were won by MIM candidates. 'This is a grave injustice to BCs. Congress is now pushing for 10% political reservation for Muslims, which we strongly oppose,' he declared. He criticized the Congress for failing to act on its Kamareddy BC Declaration even after 19 months in power. 'If they were sincere, they would have issued a notification for local body elections immediately after passing the BC reservation bill,' Rao said, adding that the BJP had supported the bill in the Assembly. Taking aim at Revanth Reddy's complaints about not getting an appointment with Prime Minister Modi, Rao said, 'It's Rahul Gandhi who doesn't give him time. Modi ji gave time in the interest of Telangana's development.' Rao also ridiculed the Congress's recent dharna in Delhi, calling it a 'flop show.' 'Rahul Gandhi, the director of the drama, didn't attend. Sonia and Priyanka Gandhi were also absent. They abandoned Telangana during the cropping season to stage a political stunt,' he said. On corruption, Rao accused the Congress of protecting BRS leaders involved in the phone tapping and Kaleshwaram cases. 'Why haven't any politicians been arrested? If Congress is sincere, it should revoke the GO banning CBI entry and allow a full probe. The stolen money should be recovered and deposited in the treasury,' he demanded. Rao alleged that the Congress government is cheating all sections—students, unemployed youth, women, and farmers. 'They've committed 420 frauds in the name of six guarantees. The people will teach them a lesson,' he said. He announced that the BJP will contest nearly all seats in the upcoming local body elections and expressed confidence in a sweeping victory. 'We are the only party that has consistently backed BCs and given them significant representation,' he said. Rao credited the central government for rural development initiatives, including free rice, housing, toilets, gas connections, Rs 5 lakh medical coverage, and loans for women and youth. 'Roads, street lights, graveyards, and Haritha Haram plantations are all being implemented with central funds,' he added. He concluded by asserting that the BJP will emerge as the true alternative to the corrupt Congress and BRS regimes in the 2028 Assembly elections. 'The people of Telangana are ready to bless the BJP. We will not allow injustice to BCs or religious-based reservations to go unchallenged,' Rao affirmed.
