Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham Sidelined Following Shoulder Surgery

Rabat – Jude Bellingham has undergone successful surgery for a long-standing shoulder dislocation issue and will be out for approximately 12 weeks. Real Madrid's midfielder has struggled with the complication ever since 2023, when he dislocated his left shoulder during a match but continued playing, later missing about three weeks of action. Bellingham postponed the operation right after Madrid's semifinals in the Club World Cup this year, with the guidance of Xabi Alonso. The England midfielder played through pain and used protective gear, as he featured in over 100 games despite the constant pain. The 22-year-old midfielder will miss out on a series of La Liga games and the UEFA Champions League group stage. With the England national team, he will be absent for three FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Serbia, Latvia, and Andorra set to be held in September and October. Real has said in a statement: 'The operation was performed by Drs. Manuel Leyes and Andrew Wallace, under the supervision of the Real Madrid Medical Services. Bellingham now begins a period of rehabilitation prior to his return to recovery work.' Jude Bellingham is scheduled to be back in action in the first Clasico of this season in late October. Bad News For Real Madrid. Rs 979 Crore Star Set To Miss Start Of New LaLiga Season

Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham has undergone successful surgery for a long-standing shoulder issue and is expected to be sidelined for at least six weeks, missing the start of the La Liga. Bellingham has struggled with discomfort in his shoulder since November 2023, when he dislocated it during a LaLiga match, and he has played with a brace under his shirt since then. He had opted to hold off the operation until after the FIFA Club World Cup in order to feature for Madrid in that tournament, where his side was knocked out in the semifinals by eventual runner-up Paris Saint-Germain. "Jude Bellingham has undergone successful surgery today to address recurrent dislocation of his left shoulder. The operation was carried out by doctors Manuel Leyes and Andrew Wallace, under the supervision of the Real Madrid Medical Services. Bellingham will now undergo a period of rehabilitation, prior to returning to training and starting his recovery," the La Liga club said in a statement. The Spanish club, under new manager Xabi Alonso, starts their La Liga season at home to Osasuna on August 19. Bellingham is also expected to miss some Champions League games and likely England's World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia in September. Bellingham has made 100 appearances in all competitions for Madrid since his switch from Borussia Dortmund, bringing up his landmark appearance against PSG last time out. He was signed for $114 million (approx. 979 crore). He has only failed to start four of those matches and has scored 38 goals and provided 27 assists for Los Blancos since his debut season in 2023-2024. Bellingham is expected to be back for the first Clasico of the season against Barcelona in late October, but he is likely to miss Madrid's derby clash with Atletico Madrid on 29 September (AEST).

Official: Real Madrid confirm fresh thigh injury to full-back; ruled out for 2.5 months In yet another concerning development, Real Madrid have confirmed a fresh injury blow to defender Ferland Mendy. 'Following tests performed on our player Ferland Mendy by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a tear of the proximal rectus femoris tendon in his right quadriceps. The outcome is pending,' the club statement read. Advertisement Mendy had recently returned from a knee injury that had kept him out for more than a month. The 29-year-old left-back returned to action only this past Saturday against Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final, but lasted less than ten minutes. Now it has been confirmed that Mendy has suffered an injury in his right thigh. He joins Antonio Rudiger on the treatment table after the German centre-back underwent surgery earlier today to address a knee injury. Building on that, journalist Arancha Rodriguez claims that Mendy will be sidelined for a period of two and a half months. It essentially means that Mendy will now miss the FIFA Club World Cup in the USA this summer. Advertisement This comes as a huge blow for Real Madrid, who now have Fran Garcia as the only fit natural left-back. Eduardo Camavinga, who has been used at left-back in the past, is also ruled out for the season. However, David Alaba can be an option if needed.
