Telangana Dy CM Bhatti orders installation of solar power plants on all government buildings

HYDERABAD: Stating that the Cabinet has made a policy decision to ramp up large-scale solar power production, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has directed officials to install solar power plants on all government buildings — from Gram Panchayats to the Secretariat. On Saturday, he held a video conference with district collectors to discuss the installation of solar power plants on government structures and the implementation of the Indira Solar Girijana Vikasam scheme on lands governed by the Recognition of Forest Rights (ROFR) Act. The deputy chief minister instructed collectors to send the layout plans of all district collectorates, including parking areas and canteens, to Hyderabad. He emphasised that since most collectorates follow similar architectural designs, standardised planning for solar installations would be efficient. 'A questionnaire detailing the requirements for setting up solar power plants will be sent to the collectors. They are expected to fill it out and return it to the office of the Principal Secretary for Energy within a week,' he said. In addition to government offices, he directed that solar power systems be installed in government schools, colleges, and higher education institutions. Collectors were also asked to provide information about large vacant lands under the Irrigation and Roads & Buildings departments. Explaining the state's broader solar initiative, Vikramarka highlighted that the government plans to provide free solar-powered pumps through the Indira Solar Girijana Vikasam scheme. This initiative, part of the Nallamala Declaration, targets the 6.7 lakh acres of land distributed to tribal communities under the ROFR Act during the Congress regime in undivided Andhra Pradesh. He noted that the programme has already been launched in the Achampet constituency and that similar efforts are planned in select areas of Adilabad district later this month.

Preserve tribal traditions while driving development: Tirupati Collector

Tirupati: Tirupati district Collector Dr S Venkateswar stressed that education is the only means to reach the highest peaks in society. He was speaking at the World Adivasi Day celebrations held at the local Tribal Welfare Building on Saturday. Addressing the gathering, the Collector noted that tribals across the world hold a distinct identity, with unique customs, traditions, and practices that must be preserved and promoted. He pointed out that the tribal diet is highly nutritious, and many doctors today recommend the consumption of naturally grown millets, traditionally eaten by tribals, to combat lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and other chronic ailments. Dr Venkateswar announced that Rs 20 lakh will be sanctioned for repairs to the Tribal Welfare Building, and efforts would be made to secure an additional Rs 10 lakh through discussions with the TUDA Chairman and the Corporation. He also mentioned that while ROFR (Recognition of Forest Rights) pattas have been distributed in some mandals, the process is pending in others and will be expedited within the next three to four months. Special measures will be taken to organise a dedicated job fair for Scheduled Tribes, he said. Basic amenities will be provided in tribal areas, and housing will be sanctioned under government schemes. The district is home to approximately 1.7 lakh tribals, including 1.42 lakh Yanadis, 11,000 Sugalis, 11,000 Erukala, and 6,000 Nakkala communities. Andhra Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation Chairman Dr Pasupuleti Hariprasad stated that the government's primary goal is to bring tribals into the path of development. He assured that steps are being taken to ensure fair pricing for the products crafted by tribal communities. TUDA Chairman G Narasimha Yadav, Tribal Welfare Department Officer Raja Somu and several tribal leaders attended the programme.

Telangana to Boost Solar Power: Deputy CM Directs Collectors to Expedite Installation on Government Buildings

Gadwal: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu announced that, under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the entire Cabinet has decided to significantly expand solar power generation in the state. On Saturday, speaking from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat, the Deputy CM conducted a review meeting with District Collectors on two key initiatives — installation of solar power plants on government buildings and implementation of the Indira Solar Tribal Development Scheme on ROFR (Recognition of Forest Rights) lands. During the meeting, the Deputy CM directed all District Collectors to send parking area and canteen layout plans of their collectorate offices to Hyderabad. Since all district collectorate buildings have been constructed using the same design pattern, the required designs for installing solar power plants will be sent from Hyderabad to ensure uniformity. He stated that solar power plants will be installed in all government offices across the state, ranging from Gram Panchayat buildings to the State Secretariat, to produce electricity on a large scale. Collectors were instructed to submit all required details for solar plant installation to the Principal Secretary of the Energy Department within a week. In addition to government offices, solar power plants will also be installed on the rooftops of government schools, junior colleges, degree colleges, and higher educational institutions. The Deputy CM asked Collectors to send detailed lists of such buildings at the earliest. Referring to the Indira Solar Tribal Development Scheme, he said the government is implementing it as a prestigious program and urged Collectors to avoid any delays, ensuring that all relevant details are sent within the stipulated time. Officials from the Energy Department also participated in the video conference alongside the District Collectors.

State to instal solar power plants in all govt. buildings

HYDERABAD Deputy Chief Minister M. Bhatti Vikramarka has asked the District Collectors to go for installation of solar power plants on government buildings and take a pro-active role in the implementation of Indira Solar Girijana Vikasam scheme in the RoFR (Recognition of Forest Rights) lands. Reviewing the two programmes at a meeting held here on Saturday along with Minister for Social Welfare Adluri Laxman Kumar, Principal Secretary (Energy) Naveen Mittal, Chairman and Managing Director of Southern Discom Md. Musharraf Faruqui, CMD of the Renewable Energy Development Corporation V. Anila and others, and attended virtually by the District Collectors, Mr. Vikramarka wanted the authorities to send the plans of all Integrated Collectorate complexes, including their parking areas and canteens, to REDCO. Since all Collectorates in the State have been built with the same design, they were required for installation of solar power plants. However, if any Collectorate had better/different designs, they may be sent to Hyderabad. The Deputy CM, who holds the portfolio of Energy too, stated that solar power plants would be installed in all government offices across the State –from Gram Panchayat buildings to the Secretariat, to produce power on a large scale. A questionnaire related to the details required for setting up solar power plants would be sent to the District Collectors and the details be sent to the office of the Principal Secretary within a week. Apart from government buildings, the solar power plants should also be installed on government schools, junior colleges, degree colleges and higher education institution buildings and the details of these buildings be sent to Hyderabad. The District Collectors were also told to send the details of large vacant lands of the Irrigation and Roads & Buildings Departments. Mr. Vikramarks told the Collectors that 6.7 lakh acres RoFR land was distributed in the agency areas by the Congress Government in Agency areas.
