State to instal solar power plants in all govt. buildings
Deputy Chief Minister M. Bhatti Vikramarka has asked the District Collectors to go for installation of solar power plants on government buildings and take a pro-active role in the implementation of Indira Solar Girijana Vikasam scheme in the RoFR (Recognition of Forest Rights) lands.
Reviewing the two programmes at a meeting held here on Saturday along with Minister for Social Welfare Adluri Laxman Kumar, Principal Secretary (Energy) Naveen Mittal, Chairman and Managing Director of Southern Discom Md. Musharraf Faruqui, CMD of the Renewable Energy Development Corporation V. Anila and others, and attended virtually by the District Collectors, Mr. Vikramarka wanted the authorities to send the plans of all Integrated Collectorate complexes, including their parking areas and canteens, to REDCO.
Since all Collectorates in the State have been built with the same design, they were required for installation of solar power plants. However, if any Collectorate had better/different designs, they may be sent to Hyderabad.
The Deputy CM, who holds the portfolio of Energy too, stated that solar power plants would be installed in all government offices across the State –from Gram Panchayat buildings to the Secretariat, to produce power on a large scale. A questionnaire related to the details required for setting up solar power plants would be sent to the District Collectors and the details be sent to the office of the Principal Secretary within a week.
Apart from government buildings, the solar power plants should also be installed on government schools, junior colleges, degree colleges and higher education institution buildings and the details of these buildings be sent to Hyderabad. The District Collectors were also told to send the details of large vacant lands of the Irrigation and Roads & Buildings Departments.
Mr. Vikramarks told the Collectors that 6.7 lakh acres RoFR land was distributed in the agency areas by the Congress Government in Agency areas. Under the Nallamala Declaration, the government is planning to provide free solar pump sets to the RoFR lands through the Indira Solar Girijana Vikasam scheme. It was launched in Achampet constituency and would be extended to certain areas of Adilabad district later this month.

'Kagaz mitao, Adhikaar churao': Rahul Gandhi accuses BJP of 'stealing' Bahujan rights by deleting voters; claims tribal land records missing in Chhattisgarh
LoP in the Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi (Image credits: PTI) NEW DELHI: Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Thursday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP ) of 'stealing' the rights of Bahujans by removing their names from voter lists and 'disappearing' forest rights titles of Adivasis. In a post on X Thursday, Gandhi alleged, citing a news report, that in Chhattisgarh's Rajnandgaon district, more than half of the forest rights titles have vanished from government records, while in Bastar, 2,788 such titles have 'suddenly' gone missing. 'Kagaz mitao, Adhikaar churao – the BJP has made this a new weapon for the oppression of Bahujans. On one hand, they remove the names of Dalits and backward classes from the voter list, and on the other, they make the forest rights titles of tribals 'disappear,'' he wrote. He said the Congress had enacted the Forest Rights Act to protect the water, forest, and land of tribals, while the BJP is weakening it and 'snatching their primary rights.' Calling tribals the 'first owners' of the country, Gandhi asserted, 'We will protect their rights at all costs.' The Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006- also known as the Forest Rights Act- grants legal rights to forest-dwelling Scheduled Tribes and other traditional communities for the ownership and use of forest land and resources, reported ANI. The law was enacted to address historical wrongs from the colonial era, when Adivasis and other forest dwellers were criminalised for using forest resources.

Telangana government will start KLIS pumps only after NDSA okays it: Minister Sridhar
KARIMNAGAR: IT Minister D Sridhar Babu said the state government is strictly following National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA) reports on the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS). He said the BRS's criticism over the reports was unfounded, as operating the KLIS lift pumps against NDSA advice could pose risks similar to the collapse of the Medigadda barrage. 'The government will lift water only if the NDSA gives clearance,' he reiterated, speaking to reporters on Monday along with Social Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar and Manakondur MLA Kavvampally Satyanarayana. Sridhar said that, as promised in the election manifesto, a judicial inquiry was conducted into KLIS, with Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose submitting a report to the government. A committee reviewed the findings and prepared a brief report, which will soon be tabled in the Assembly for discussion by all parties, including BRS MLAs. On the issue of MLA disqualifications, he said the Speaker would take the final decision, noting that the Supreme Court had given three months' time. He urged the state's eight BJP MPs to pressure the Centre to get Presidential assent for 42% BC quota so it can become law.
