Resurvey of land in five villages where survey has not been conducted so far on experimental basis
The Revenue department has focussed its attention on resurvey of 413 villages where survey work has not been taken up since the days of Nizam's rule. The government has decided to conduct resurvey on an experimental basis in five such villages — Salarnagar village of Gandeed mandal of Mahabubnagar district, Kommanapalli of Bhirpur mandal of Jagtial district, Mulugumada in Errupalem mandal (Khammam), Nuguru of Venkatapuram mandal (Mulugu) and Shahidnagar of Vatpalli (Sangareddy). Gram Sabhas are being conducted in these villages for educating people about the resurvey process which will be completed within a month. According to Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, it was the responsibility of the officials concerned for effectively implementing the people-centric decisions taken by the government at the field level. The government had decided to induct licenced surveyors as a permanent solution to the land record-related disputes and it was decided to recruit about 5,000 surveyors in different parts of the State in the first phase. Two-month intensive training would be provided to these surveyors in district headquarters from May 26 and the applicants for the posts were accordingly directed to meet survey officials in their respective districts on Monday. Once the training is completed, it was decided to enrol six to eight surveyors in each mandal depending on the extent of land and volume of transactions. The development, he said, follows the provision in the Telangana Bhu Bharati (Record of Rights) Act mandating inclusion of survey document along with other relevant papers at the time of registration of the land. Steps were taken to strengthen the land survey wing in this direction.

Bhu Bharati aims to resolve land disputes effectively: Collector Abhilash Abhinav
Nirmal: The State government enacted the Bhubharati Act to resolve land disputes effectively, district Collector Abhilash Abhinav emphasised its significance at an awareness seminar held in Andakur village, Kuntala mandal on Tuesday. Officials provided farmers with a Power Point presentation explaining the new ROR (Record of Rights) Act, which aims to streamline the regularisation of pending land transactions. The Bhubharati portal allows farmers to submit online applications, and revenue officials will conduct mutation and registration processes. If there are objections, farmers can appeal through a two-tier system. Additionally, the government is offering free legal assistance to poor farmers. Each land parcel will be assigned a unique Bhudhar number, similar to Aadhaar, ensuring clear boundaries and transparent land records. The Bhu Bharati Act addresses issues caused by Dharani, ensuring online updates whenever a mutation occurs, the officials explained. Villagers also shared their land-related concerns with the Collector, who directed officials to resolve immediate issues on the spot. Other cases will be handled under the Bhubharati Act. The event was attended by Additional Collector (Revenue) Kishore Kumar, tahsildar Kamal Singh, MPDO Limbadri, officials, and villagers.

Revenue Minister confident that major chunk of land issues will be resolved by August 15
Reiterating the Congress government's commitment to restore rights on land to genuine owners, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has said the Telangana Bhu Bharati (Record of Rights) Act, 2025 has been designed to rectify the mistakes like entry of wrong names, resolving issues pertaining to prohibited lands and others. Steps have been taken to ensure that the Act as well as the rules governing it can be understood by laypersons. The Act has been drafted after touring 18 States to study similar legislations being implemented there and the final Bhu Bharati Act was prepared after holding elaborate consultations with experts and stakeholders. The Minister was speaking in the awareness meetings on Bhu Bharati conducted at Kamareddy, Warangal and Khammam districts on Tuesday. The Minister exuded confidence that land related issues would be resolved to a major extent by August 15, the Independence Day, providing much needed relief to the people. Mr. Srinivas Reddy made a trenchant attack on the previous BRS government that enacted the Records of Rights Act in 2020 but failed to prepare rules for its implementation in the next three years when it was in power. Vast extent of lands were misappropriated in the name of Record of Rights Act and Dharani portal resulting in sleepless nights to genuine landowners, but the previous government did not initiate any steps to remedy the situation. Vexed with the situation, they taught the BRS fitting lessons in the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. 'These (BRS) leaders are now shedding crocodile tears on land issues. Our government is committed to do justice to the people and we are firm on ensuring that land is restored to all genuine owners who lost it,' he said. He said several steps had been initiated to educate people about the provisions of the Bhu Bharati Act and 3,400 petitions had been received in the 20 meetings convened in the villages so far. The new legislation, he said, had incorporated grievance redressal mechanism at different levels and the government was firm on initiating action against the officials found guilty of committing mistakes. Simultaneously, steps had been initiated to put in place revenue administration at the village level through appointment of officers in all 10,956 revenue villages. In addition, the process for recruiting over 1,000 licenced surveyors had also been put in place to ensure that they would correct the records at the village level after conducting survey.
