As three riders reach Q2, could KTM finally surprise in Aragon MotoGP race?
Though the KTM MotoGP riders may not be feeling overly confident regarding their race chances this weekend at Aragon, it was surprising to see three of the Austrian manufacturer's riders progress to Q2 for the first time in 2025 following Friday practice. Maverick Viñales led the KTM trio into the automatic Q2 spots in third place on the times, followed by factory riders Pedro Acosta in fifth and Brad Binder in seventh. The final KTM rider, Enea Bastianini, missed out in 13th but was only two-and-a-half tenths off cracking the top 10. Advertisement Sounding particularly upbeat, Binder discussed the slight improvements that appeared to make the difference. 'Firstly happy to be straight through into Q2, it's been a while so that's good but in general I think today was pretty positive,' said Binder. 'I was really struggling this morning with a lot of understeer and this afternoon we found something that gave me a lot more front confidence so that was great. 'A lot less understeer so I'm pretty happy about that and in general everything's quite ok. There are things we can try to fix for tomorrow but I think a good step forward for this track.' 'One of the Fridays that we can be more positive, that KTM can be more positive,' said Vinales. 'Even though I think we still have some parts of the track to improve that with the medium [tyre] used was way better to ride the bike so it's probably a little bit unbalanced when you put the soft rear, the behaviour of the front always slightly [caused opening] the line and it's so hard to be precise in section one and two and three. It's tough when I put the time attack. With used medium [tyres] I did in the third exit, I feel we have a good potential.' Things appear to be looking up for the KTM squad at Aragon but its riders are putting off final judgment until qualifying tomorrow. To read more articles visit our website.

Binder looks to rebound at Silverstone after French GP wipeout
Binder looks to rebound at Silverstone after French GP wipeout Brad Binder had a disappointing end to his most recent MotoGP race on the Michelin Grand Prix of France 2025 in Le Mans. • Also read: Brad just misses out on top 5 spot in Spain According to the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team, Brad pulled away from the 13th position off the grid on race day, May 11. 'After the weather caused some uncertainty, they finally sped off the grid. Unfortunately, Brad crashed into turn 14 and then again shortly afterwards in turn one to end his day early,' they revealed. Brad said that he did not have much to say about the race. My race was a lot shorter than I would have liked. Very tricky to understand what tires we should have had at the beginning. 'We had wets, came in for slicks, and I thought things were going quite well, but into the last corner, there was a bit more water than I expected, and it just slipped away. I picked up, did my two long laps and was planning to come in, but it just washed in turn one. It was time to have been on the wets!' he stated. Sometimes things do not work out.' He apologised to his team because they deserved a good result after all their efforts lately, and that he would try again in Silverstone. Brad is currently placed 14th in the World Championship standings and will compete again at the Tissot Grand Prix of the United Kingdom from May 23–25. Brad Binder's Le Mans ends in gravel – twice – as season continues to unravel
Brand Binder had a torrid time in France this past weekend. Photo: Red Bull Image: Red Bull Brad Binder's difficult start to the 2025 MotoGP season continued at Le Mans, as the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rider crashed out of both the sprint and the main race — despite showing early promise in challenging conditions. Binder, who qualified 13th and once again missed out on Q2, had been looking to build on encouraging signs from a sixth-place finish in the Spanish Grand Prix, but his outing in France would prove to be another punishing chapter in his campaign. I'm really sorry to my entire team, they deserved a good result. We'll reset and look ahead to the next race.@KTM_Racing #FrenchGP — Brad Binder (@BradBinder_33) May 11, 2025 Saturday's sprint offered a glimpse of what might have been. The South African surged into seventh place with characteristic aggression before crashing out after four laps. Hopes of redemption on Sunday were high, especially with rain complicating proceedings. Binder, known for his prowess in wet conditions, couldn't tame the unpredictable Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans, as the slippery surface prevented a finish in the top seven for two consecutive races. Like many riders, Binder opted for a mid-race bike swap to adjust to the evolving grip — a move that triggered two long-lap penalties as they started the warm-up lap from the pit lane. Even with the setback, he looked competitive and well-placed for a top result until the conditions finally caught him out. 'Not too much to say.
